yeah most def, Maestro is too fuckin ill, we all grew up to his shit up here, he was the only Canadian rapper to really make it anywhere, he was ahead of his time then and even nowadays he can hang with rappers like Rakim and KRS and so on, this man is a hiphop legend in the north, it's just that these heads don't know or never knew, but peeps in the states knew Maestro, he even did tracks with Showbiz and AG and he had an American album out, the man is throwback forsho!

Props for the vids.

The thing is you can't really call it "Canadian Hip-hop", there is no national boundary of it. Hip-hop reached the projects in Toronto before many of those U.S. cities farther west that are hot right now. Every major urban center has its own sound, and Toronto is one of them. If anything its almost like any other east coast U.S. city.

I like hip-hop sounds from many different places.....Bay, Texas, KC, Cleveland, NY, etc....but I really like T-Dot the most.

toronto definately has its own flavour

other than NYC I dont think there is anywhere else with as much raw hip hop in the east

maybe its just bc I am from toronto and I hear a lot of the underground cats, but I think its true, biggest city in canada is producing, just like the biggest city in the states as for worldwide other than NYC no other city in any other country can fuck with toronto

lol but obviously everyone is going to rep that their city is the best

respect yo, you know what it is already, Toronto is one of the most hardest cities to come up out of, there is no industry up here or anybody who'll back up mills for somebody's record, we're basically stuck in a canyon right at the very bottom and only the strongest will reach the top, it hasn't been done yet, but indie has always been the way to do this, so fuck the major record signing labels, Toronto will remain an underground independent city and the rest of Canada as well!

i remember when choclair started gettin some spins in the mid nineties

i played the tape until it wore out

never really liked Choclair, 21 years was his tightest tune, after that it went downhill for him, he got more exposure but his music was not banging at all!

ok ok take it easy toronto

theres other mcs in canada
everytime someone talks about hip hop in canada they say toronto this and toronto that
thats toronto hip hop which is different than hip hop from other parts of canada

dont forget bless
the dude was picked up by gangstarr and got tracks by premo on his album
other good groups like shades of culture and butta babees are dope
and my boys SHOGUN and mathematik

theres alot of talent in montreal, van city, calgary, edmonton, etc etc
but the industry isnt big like in toronto

if you from montreal you might as well go to toronto to make it big
coz the french ppl there dont support local english hip hop groups or mcs
they would rather support the french rap mcs or groups (look at malik shaeed) which are totally whack compared to the groups from france

for real every canadian hip hop threads is flooded with toronto groups and alot of them dont mention cats like

rascalz- van city
mc spy- calgary
unonymous inc- NWT yellowknife
politic live - edmonton
Kreesha Turner- edmonton
Low Pressure All Stars - van-city/ nova scotia
sweatshop union- van city
checkmate - van city
rez official - Calgary/ Saskatchewan

toronto has my respect and all but it gets too much attention

yo Chiba, I feel what you saying, but that's why the thread is TORONTO HIPHOP VIDEOS, believe me, I'm intune with hiphop all over the world, so all the peeps you mentioned I've already heard of, so it's not like I'm on some T.O. pride, but that's where I'm reppin' out of, the thread don't say CANADIAN HIPHOP videos, feel me?
