i think its the right time to do it

we all listend to this album since a lil time now so we can make a good statement

i think the album has perfect subject matter and the lyrics are really on point. Kanye did a great job...just the beat to the intro hyped the shit up and i think everysong on there got a point across...common steped his game up imo his flow is better than on the all his other albums..l i like eyery song on there - so

its a classic to me

Dont get me wrong its a hot album but I dont think it stands up against joints like Illmatic, Ready to Die, or OB4CL. I think its one of the better joints of like the last two years though.

Common and No ID are a much better combination than Common and Kanye, and in my opinion on BE Kanye was trying to emulate the sucess & chemistry that Common and No ID had and the album just comes off as a copycat...it's a ok album, but not a classic. And that's my opinion

i would not call be a classic...its got some dope tracks on it, don't get me wrong, but i can't see myself looking back at it in a couple years and saying "damn that shit was a classic" like i do for illmatic or supreme clientele. there are some weak tracks on it, like GO and others, but then again chi city, the corners, and the food are awesome. I think that heads are starving too much for a modern day classic, and they are quick too call BE a classic because there hasnt been one in a few years.

Ready to Die is classic, what have "mics" got to do with anything, it's not as good as Illmatic though and as for Halftime, that's the best track on the album in my opinion, one of my favourite songs ever, the beat, wordplay and flow are crazy.

8/10. and thats only because there hasnt been too many good albums in the past 3 years. BE is a strong cd but does not have classic written on it. The beats were disappointing and not enough of the REAL common. the common that would just ride to the beat. kanye tried to make him in to something he's not. common feels the beat and rhymes to what he is feeling he does not try to make subject matter out of it, it just comes naturally. i only saw the real common shine on like 5 tracks. Top 10 albums of all time? No. doesnt even get onto my top 20. common should have gotten dj premier. THAT would have been way better than kanye west.

Pretty great album. In my top 5 of '05'. Maybe a modern classic, we'll see how it compares to all the other stuff when the smokes clears. Common still has it in him to make great albums and he will continue to do so.
