Well Brady Quinn wasn't doing any better than Derek Anderson has this season. They were real similar in a lot of stats. So I don't think his injury is that big of a deal.

Quinn only played like one and a half games and for some retarded reason, crennel pulled him in the 4th quarter when they were only down ten.

We didnt even get to see if he could bring us back.

The Browns suck cuz they have no LB's and no DB's.
Offensively they are fine, they have plenty of weapon, altho i think Jamal Lewis is done and we need to find a better back.

well dickhead you need those other two backs because jacobs is not built for 20 plus carry's he'll wear down in the fourth quarter and we were the hardest team on that schedule with a beat up secondary and new offense just installed alot of thing's have changed since then boy

Another good win for the Giants. No running game...no matter. We took it to the air. Great game by Eli with 3 TDs. 10-1 matches the best record in the NFL. Next stop is Washington. Yeah Portis, you best be wise and don't talk shit. :)

New York Giants star wide receiver Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg Friday, according to multiple media reports.

Burress was hospitalized with gunshot injuries Friday night that were not believed to be life-threatening, FOX Sports.com reported Saturday.

A spokesman for the Giants on Saturday told PA SportsTicker that the team had no comment, although they acknowledged they are aware there was an incident.

Burress has not practice all week due to an ailing hamstring and already had been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins.

Citing sources familiar with the situation, the New York Daily News reported that Burress was shot late Friday night, but no further details of the incident are available.

i would laugh, but almost a year ago, my boy sean taylor died form a shot to the leg. granted, sean taylor was defending his family, while plexiglass was trying to keep it real, it could have been real bad.

nah, he may have gotten us to the playoffs last year, but he threw 2 pick 6's to seal the seapidgeons win. out with the old. plus it might have been the al saunders system he was so well versed in, having held the clipboard in it for 10 straight years.

i want to see what brennan can do.
if he fails, he fails. right now i don't think it could be any worse. i'm not a fairweather fan, so no matter how the skins end up, they're my squad.
shit i never would have even guessed 7 wins this season, but nfc east always has a chance to send 2 teams to the wild card it seems.
fuck it, bench campbell, at least for a quarter, maybe it would light a fire under his ass. it worked with donovan mcrib.

I told you a redskins fans, in particular Portis, that they weren't a super bowl caliber team. They are good enough to maybe get a wildcard, but they will lose inthe first round or if they get lucky win one game and lose in the second.

They have no QB...Campbell just doesnt make plays. Defensively they are solid, but until they get a real QB they will be the same old Skins.

Daaaaamn...

It ain't even Campbell fault it's the shitty ass plays ya'll be calling in to him. When Campbell was going deep the years before, I thought the Skins were good but this year they offense is just TOO shitty. Portis isn't a great back I am sorry, he cannot carry a team. He's a good back, will get his stats, but he's not going to take anyone to the promise land. And the backup Rbs suck in Wahsington straight up. Ya'll needa open it up again with those speedy WRs..and let Campbell do his thing. I actually like Campbell think he got talent but he sucks with this new coach and that trashy OC whoever he is.

But we was gonna whoop ya'll no matter what the fuck gameplan you put in.

been a while since i posted on here
i called the TITANS a fluke and well sorry Tenessee fans... i was completely wrong. Yet they still wont win the superbowl theyll flop. Dallas COWBOYS still my candidate for the superbowl in the nfc now the afc is a bit harder to predict but it looks like a showdown between the STEELERS and the COLTS..

WILD CARD RACE
and I didnt think id be saying this this season but the fins have a GREAT chance of making the playoffs. We play BILLS hopefully without Edwards, shitty 49ERS,
The Colts will easily win their WILD CARD position by busting a nut on the LIONS like everyone else has been doing, destroying BENGALS and finishing out by barely beating the Jags and wooping a TITANS team who will by that last game have absolutely no starters playing.

The other team the RAVENS in a position for a wildcard position has to play the REDSKINS COWBOYS STEELERS and will most likely finish 8-8 or 9-7 depending on that JAGS game.

so besides the COLTS making that one spot the other WILDCARD is going to the FINS or the PATS which both have pretty easy remaining schedules except that one JETS game for the FINS at the end (which may also have a lot of starers on the bench) and that one CARDINALS game the PATS have. by week 16 both teams should be coming in with 9-5 records from the look of their schedule before either team plays the CARDS or JETS.

I HOPE MY FINS MAKE THIS SHIT!!!!!

What's up with the Jaguars this year? After Brady went down for the Pats, I thought that the Jaguars could be one of the contenders in the AFC. But they are embarassing this season. They give the Bengals their only win of the season. And they get stomped on by the Texans on a Monday night game, who most people don't even know exist.

Also, what's up with the Chargers? They should have been a serious contender too.

This wasn't some kind of fluke performance it they'd have taken better care of the ball throughout the season they'd probably have another 3 or so wins than what they currently do (and that's definitely the case in their first loss to the Colts this season)

Our current GM has been making great picks in the draft. I think we load up on D in the next one and really turn some heads in 09.

Yeah that was a good win for the Texans on MNF. First time there since like 94, as the Oilers. I can't believe the Texans haven't gotten better yet. They're still the same they always are.

Whatever happened to Domenik Davis? Dude straight fell off. Slaton or whatever they say is having a good year. Andre is a beast. Giants should get Andre Johnson (wishful thinking) now that Chedder Bob may be done and we're gonna get mad money back.

I've been to ever game this year, they've definitely gotten better but you're not neccessarily gonna know it by reading recaps and looking at box scores. We're a couple of pieces on D away from being a real contender but IT IS only A COUPLE of pieces that we're missing. If we find a couple of good safties, a bookend for Mario and a rush specialist @ OLB, the Colts will be getting their asses handed to them (along with the Jags) on the regular. That's the real future of the AFC South- Texans vs Titans.

And you can go head and can the thoughts of AJ leavin. He signed a contract extension not too long ago that basically made him a Texan for life (or atleast till he's in his mid-30's) Just the way it should be.

As for Davis he blew out his knee and just never recovered. Slaton was a great find in the 3rd round something the new GM has been doing a lot of since he took over for Casserly's sorry ass. The franchise is moving in the right direction.

Schaub wouldn't have had those turnovers against the Colts, so atleast one. But on the real, offense hasn't been the problem in general (with the exclusion of idiotic turnovers) It's not being able to get stops on D, especially in the redzone that has killed us this year. That side of the ball is where they need to concentrate in the offseason.

Schaub is a good QB (maybe not great) that's accurate and knows the offense. The problem is that he'll hold the ball too long at times and has yet to go through a full season healthy. The jury is still out on whether he's the long-term answer but for right now I'll give him the benefit of the doubt

Plus they think they can get by without Plax and they thought they could just dump Shockey.

Eli tries to hard to be like Peyton with all the audible bullshit, but he just aint that good. The Giants got lucky to beat the Pats on an immaculate reception type of play.

a good qb makes plays, he rarely makes plays. he's too soft spoken, he sound like fuckin michael. he has no fire. he's meek. he's shy. at least jeff garcia is a flamboyant homo. campbell's a fuckin 'quiet leader' homo, or whatever i alwaqys se him called. his leadership skills are lacking. he's a little athletic, a lot talented, nice arm but taht doesn't make a shit. it takes more sometimes.
bench him, at least for 1 quarter, see what happens. maybe the team will come out of this fuckin coma. maybe it won't. they doing better than i would have thought, but thye gotta shot to make th eplayoffs and they're acting like some bammas. it's all good though, cuz that's my opinion. you got yours.

The Texans went into Lambeau Field turned the ball over four times (three of which turned into touchdowns) and we still walked away with a win. The game was close though when it should've been a blowout. Get a defense in the offseason and we're gonna turn heads in 09. trust that.

i dont kno why your taking it personal. I have nothing against the Giants. its an objective opinion.
I'm just callin it how i see. I've watch most of their games this year, and if Ward is there starter, thats not good, cuz he is a 3rd down back.
And they have no playmakers at WR now.

The defense is still strong, but they are going to need a healthy team to do any damage. All i really said was that if Jacobs don't play, the Giants are not a dominating team on offense.
ANd i dont recall when i ever said they wouldnt make the playoffs. I just said they will not repeat.

I'm liking the Steelers chances right now. That defense is sick as usual and they got two good backs and two good recievers.

I think it will be a Steelers/Cowboys Superbowl again.

The Titans....there defense is superb, and so is their ground game, but I just don't see Kerry Collins being able to win it for them. There leading reciever is Scaife and he isn't exactly a playmaker. I think that can be exposed when they are down and teams like Pittsburgh can load up against the run.

No, I would take Holmes, and Ward over Gage, and Jones. The Titans offensive line is one of the best in the league. #1 in least sacks allowed, and Johnson, and White's numbers speak for themselves. Kerry Collins has played pretty well for the most part. Just because Holmes, and Ward are better than Gage doesn't mean the Steelers arent 23rd in the NFL in rushing, cuz they are. But the Lions for as long as I can remember never really had the answer at QB and that's always been the downfall.

but yeah @ 11th, if you know you're in rebuilding mode I think you HAVE to start with your lines first on both sides of the ball. Any other strategy don't really make sense. You'll get a star QB killed. The WRs won't have time to get open and a RB will get pounded all-day (don't matter if your Adrian Peterson)

O-line first, then your D-line (cuz otherwise you'll get run the fuck over) Once you got those you can pick and choose where you want to go.

Yeah, the trio of receivers were all good: Herman Moore, Brett Perriman, and Johnnie Morton. I read that Moore and Perriman were the first wide receiver duo ever to each catch more than 100 receptions in the same season. And Moore set an NFL record for most catches in a season in 1995. Moore and Jerry Rice were like the two best receivers in the NFL around that time.

For a lot of years that Barry Sanders played on the Lions, they had a real bad offensive line. Imagine if he would have had an O line as good as Emmit Smith had on the Cowboys. I mean, Barry Sanders was still the best running back of all time, but just saying.

IronFingaz7
12-09-2008, 09:10 PM
I dont think the season is over for the Cowboys due to the fact that they hold tiebreakers over every team below them and over the Bucs who is the only other wildcard ahead of them at the moment. So if they tie with other teams, their still in the playoffs. And as far as Roy Williams goes, I think it was a great pick-up because TO isnt going to be there too much longer and Roy is young so he'll be there awhile.

Roy hasn't caught more than 1 TD pass with the Girlz though...dude's not that good son. I dunno...going by what you just said.. I guess when T.O. LEAVES..then the real ballin ass Roy will surface? Doesn't make sense but okay.

How do you like your chances this week? Girlz are 3 point favs. Giants take the underdog role to heart like none other. I think if we win...yall are eliminated. So basically this will be 2 years in a row we can eliminate yall from the season? Word I like it.

you must have never watched a football game before last year. if you want to talk about the underdog tag, how about the steelers 3 years ago.

they were a 6 seed. they beat the #1 #2 and #3 team in the afc to go to the superbowl, then beat the #1 team in the nfc in the superbowl. it doesn't get anymore underdog than that. underdog was used all playoffs with them. it's not new to the giants. i understand they are your home team, but be open minded about what's going on.

Schaub did what alot of naysayers thought he couldn't go, play a mistake free game of football with no turn-overs and when we do that we got a good chance against pretty much anybody in the league.

We're still a couple of pieces away, I'm not trying to say we've arrived yet but we are CLOSE. The secondary still got burned a couple of times yesterday but Collins just missed the throws. One of those was on 4th down when they should of kicked the field goal but if he does complete it the TD was there. But still not sure why you'd gamble like that when homefield advantage is still on the line. The Titans sure as hell paid for it though. :) The rookie Slaton looked better than JOhnson yesterday and Andre Johnson was beastin the whole fuckin team :b that catch he snagged over Finnegan late in the game was fuckin amazing. If dude don't make the Pro Bowl its fuckin robbery.

I gotta love what we've been doin in the draft the last couple of years. When Casserly was GM we'd pretty much tank every single draft. (Jason Babin in the first fuckin round??? are you kidding me?) But with Smith in there now a lot of great picks and a huge boost in the talent level. We'll load up on D this next draft so that they can play a lot more blitzs and NOT get burned on the backend. With only the Raiders and the Bears left we've got a legitimate shot at the first winning season in franchise history so everything is going how it needs to. We're definitely a team thats upcoming and if they can keep the coaching staff and the GM in there I think we'll be in that position for a very long time. Colts are getting swept next year!

thanks man, we could've been playoff-bound if it wasn't for a couple of supreme fuck-ups but yeah gotta be happy with the overall finish especially if we win out from here (and a with a game against the raiders, we're pretty much guarenteed atleast 8-8)

couple of big games for the top seeds in both conferences next week

Steelers @ Titans
Panthers@ Giants

how do you approach that as a coaching staff?? There's a lot on the line with the homefield advantage but at the same time you don't wanna throw too much out there as you very well might face the same team for even bigger stakes in just a couple of weeks.

don't be so sure of that, this isn't the same Texans of the Capers/Carr/Casserly years--------the give'me games are over--especially with Schaub in at QB, its not a definite win but its not a guarenteed loss either

As I said already, Panthers ar the best team in the league

they'll get their chance to prove it next week. I find it funny that there was talk of Fox being on the hot seat last year, he's like Jeff Fischer in that he seems to be a coach that's going to continue to put a winner on the field year-in and year-out. They'd be smart to hold onto the dude even they have the rocky season every now and then

I'd think the main goal would be to get the bye and homefield, so a coach basically has to go balls to the wall and have no fear. Playoff games at home are too important to worry about injuries. Injuries will happen regardless, I don't see coaches worrying about that. They're mindset should be on homefield. All four of these guys are tops in the coaching department, especially Fox and Fisher. They'll be ready for a war next week to improve their rankings for the playoffs.

I guess you missed when Kareem McKenzie the Right Tackle went down. Ware started coming off the right end when he did, creating mad havoc on the backup and thus making it a free for all on the rest of the O-Line when we needed to put a tackle on Ware to help Booth. Was a tough day for the O-Line before that, but a lot of sacks came once Booth jumped in the game for McKenzie. Like I said McKenzie better be okay or we're in trouble at that right tackle spot.

Giants didn't run the ball effectively either, which had the Girlz foaming at the mouth for Eli.

Also, I thought the Girlz did a great job in beating our blitzes with short passes and dump offs. That reaaaally slowed down our rush for the end of the game, they had us tired as fuck I could see.

I tip my hat to the Girlz for them playing some of their best football in..forever. They play like they have been the past few weeks and we'll really see the Cowgirlz everyone wants in the Super Bowl. Either way, we'll see ya'll in the playoffs...I got a feeling it'll be Dallas / New York in that Divisional Round once again. Atleast this time we're tied up. It's tough beating a team 3 times in a season.

Dirty Knowledge

LOL. We'll see about that next weekend.

It's gonna be tough, G-Men are playing uninspired football. Panthers are fast on both sides of the ball, I think they may be a little better defensively than Dallas or Philly, which is scary to think. Steve Smith and those two RBs are going to give us fits. We need to start opening things up downfield, especially if Jacobs is hurting. Eli's got the arm, more than 1 reciever has the speed...let's start chucking the damn ball on these secondaries and see what happens. Because these D'z are starting to focus on our running attack.

the steelers have the best defense in the league. nobody is even close. sometimes that's more important than having the best team. just like when the ravens won the superbowl, your offense doesn't have to win you the game, they just can't lose it for you.

The Titans are gonna have a hell of a hard time without Haynesworth in the mddle. They better hope he's healthy for the playoffs or they're really in trouble.

Yeah, well I wanted them to beat the Steelers. Didn't happen. Ravens are just not very good on offense imo. Willis Mcgahee is a shell of himself. Mcclain is slow, and has terrible agilty, though he is a very hard runner. Flacco is decent at times, but too inconsistent with his accuracy. Their O-line isn't exactly scaring anyone either. Mason is a good possession reciever, but not explosive. Todd Heap is a shell as well. Their defense is nice as hell though. I think Dallas beats them.

but fuck all that for a minute...

no matter what team has your allegiance, no one can deny that sammy baugh was one of the illest players of all time. i mean, you can, but that would just be ignorant.

old man passed away tonight. i seen some old footage, read a bunch about this over my years as a skins fan, and he was fucking badass. lived a nice long life though.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3776838

Baugh was the best all-around player in an era when such versatility was essential. In 1943, he led the league in passing, punting and defensive interceptions.

In one game, he threw four touchdown passes and intercepted four as well. He threw six touchdowns passes in a game twice. His 51.4-yard punting average in 1940 is still the NFL record.

Baugh still holds Redskins records for career touchdown passes (187) and completion percentage in a season (70.3). His 31 interceptions on defense are third on the team's career list.

Baugh guided the Redskins to five title games and two championships, playing his entire career without a face mask. His No. 33 is the only jersey Washington has retired.

Baugh was known to make blunt, witty remarks.

After the Redskins' 73-0 loss (lmao, now that's pathetic) to the Chicago Bears in the 1940 championship, a writer asked if the outcome would have been different had an end not dropped an early touchdown pass.

"Yeah," drawled Baugh. "It would have been 73-7."

LOL

r.i.p. old timer

no doubt the skins will lose 73-7 on sunday in your memory. :D
