This is accually the 2nd time in 6 years I believe that the Lions have given up 6 TD's from a QB. Peyton did it back in 03 I think during Thanksgiving.

As for Delhomme, Panthers should have dumped his ass 2 years ago. He's cost them so many games its ridiculous. The backups are pretty much ass too.

They should have spent some of their focus in the offseason getting a QB in the draft or atleast tryed to have gotten Cassell before KC got him

The Redskins should place a call to Nashville. The Titans would consider trading Patrick Ramsey back to the Skins. Titans need a return man. Randle El for Ramsey and a 5th round pick? Ramsey >>>> Campbell. Honestly, I can't believe the offseason went by, and the Skins didn't get another QB. They gave 100 million to Haynesworth, and have a no solid starter at QB? WTF kinda business is Snyder runnin over there? All those high priced players on that squad and Jason Campbell at the most important position on the team?

i agree that ramsey is better than campbell, but that still doesn't make him a good qb. super bowls are built around defense. you can still win a super bowl without a great quarterback, but he has to be good enough to not lose you the game. (i.e. trent dilfer xxxv and ben roethlisberger XL)

campbell isn't anywhere near good enough to not lose a super bowl. not only is he possibly the worst starting qb in the league, he isn't better than many 2nd string qbs.

Sources: Agents steering players away from Browns

Posted by Mike Florio on September 16, 2009 7:28 PM ET
Though the Cleveland Browns were able to lure to town today a couple of players with connections to coach Eric Mangini (safety Ray Ventrone and guard Billy Yates), multiple sources have told us that some agents plan to steer their clients away from the Browns.

Right or wrong, there's a sense of discontent regarding the new regime in Cleveland, where coach Eric Mangini and G.M. George Kokinis are running the show, with Mangini serving essentially as the man in charge.

A variety of issues have contributed to the situation, and we're in the process of tracking down specific details regarding some of the potential problem areas.

In the offseason, feathers were ruffled when Mangini took first-year players on a ten-hour bus ride to Hartford, Connecticut to work a youth football camp. Also, the lingering contractual impasse regarding receiver Josh Cribbs could be creating trust issues, given Cribbs' strong belief that owner Randy Lerner promised to re-work Cribbs' below-market deal, and the fact that Mangini/Kokinis have denied the allegation.

The Cribbs conundrum reminds many of the disputes that arose when Mangini coached the Jets, including guard Pete Kendall, receiver Laveranues Coles, and tight end Chris Baker. All claimed that promises had been made regarding their contracts, and that the promises had been broken.

As one source explained it, the Browns likely will be required to overpay free agents in the offseason. If the money that Cleveland is offering matches the money on the table from another team, the thinking is that the players will be far more inclined to sign with the team not named the Browns.

UPDATE: In response to this item, an agent who was not one of the sources for the original item contacted us, agreed with it wholeheartedly, and said, "I would put one of my players on another team's practice squad before putting him on the Browns."

Not taking anything away from 'em but some of those passes from Romo were fuckin awful and the Giants probably wouldn't have been in the same position w/out 'em. But you're right it really don't matter as far as W's go. I like seein the Cowboys win just cause I'm from Texas but I'm really a Houston fan.

who cares. Neither of those teams are super bowl contenders anyway.

Romo is awful
So who do you think is at this point? I don't think the Cowboys are just cause they self-destruct so fuckin often especially due to the play of Romo but the Giants still got a great D line and the WRs are stepping up. I don't think at this point you can completely count 'em out as they're not that much different from the team that DID win a superbowl.

Also remember somtimes a team peaks too early. Can the Saints keep playing at that level on offense all year? Only time will tell. Predictions knowing what I know now.

AFC
East-Jets (that defense Ryan is running ain't no fuckin joke, people down here thought the Texans just sucked opening day ....and the D still does but the Jets were just that fucking good and Sanchez is an NFL-level QB and quickly)
North-Ravens (Steelers look like they'll be depending a lil too much on Rothlisburger on offense)
South-Texans (complete homer pick but I think we'll handle the Colts anyways, fuck Peyton and the Titans are 0-3 after this weekend)
West-Charger (win by default in a shit division)
WC-Colts, Steelers

NFC
East-Giants (McNabb out hurts, Phillips is going his last year in Dallas)
North-Minnesota (Greebay's O-line will be their downfall)
South-New Orleans (Delhomme might be murdered on the field by the entire stadium before the season ends and Atlanta is for real but don't have enough D to stop the Saints)
West-San Fran (Singletary has turned it around and got'em playing his style of football)

WC-Atlanta,Cardinals

WC-Atlanta,Cardinals

playoff predictions soon

ur "vision" is obviously clouded..
were heading in2 the 3rd week of the season..
the texans could be this year's cardinals..but to rule the colts out completley of that division is luda..just like ruling out the steelers or the patriots from there respective divisions..
an knowing what we know should-nt mcnabb be back soon..
hopefully ur playoff picks will come with more of the season already unfolded other than 2 weeks of nfl action/../

Brandon Jacobs Warned The Cowboys They Should Of Had The Lions Are Someone Else Come In For The Opening Of The New Stadium And Now Look What Happened. The Giants Arent Gonna Get Rattled In A Game Like That.

Eli Proving Why He Got That Contract If People Didnt Think He Was Gonna Get The Giants In Field Gaol Range Your Fuckin Crazy. He Did That Shit Smoothly Thats Him At His Best And He Proved It Again. Giants Not Only 2-0 But 2-0 In The Division Big Win But More Deflating To The Cowboys.

Eli played with poise and confidence at the end of the game and Smith okey'doked the shit outta whoever was covering him on that TD catch.

I'm still not ready to buy into San Fran for this year. I refuse to believe that injuries will make this year like last year for the Seahawks....Then again the defense looks like SHIT still so it isn't all on the Offense.

Which Makes It Even More Demoralizing This Game Was Set Up On A Platter For The Cowboys Them Opening A New Stadium With All The Intensity And Emotion The Giants Secondary Being Banged Up The Giants Not Playing Well Yet This Season And The Cowboys Still Lost The Game.

Romo Throwing Up Interceptions And Eli Playing It Cool The Giants Are Reslient Most Teams Probably Would Of Lost After The Cowboys Scored With 3 Minutes Left But The Giants Always Battle Back.

Cowboys Fans Can Spin It How They Like But The Fact Is They Lost The Game A Win Is A Win And The Giants Have A Knack For Winning Even When They Shouldnt Kinda Like The Patriots Are Known For.

and the Cowboys have a knack for fucking it up. lol

it's completely a homer pick :b but we should've atleast split with the Colts last year and I think we're a better team while the Colts have backslid a little with a lot of youth @ WR. Only time will tell and we still got some major issues on D so it wouldn't surprise me if its the Colts once again. I'm still sticking with my squad. One thing I know for sure though is that it won't be the Titans. They're about to go down 0-3 and that's too steep a hole to climb out in the South.

Brave picking your Houston Texans, but I respect the homer pick. =Plol thanks man. Gore got those 200 yards mainly against 8 and 9 man fronts. 2-0 in the division as well. I think they're the real deal mainly because of Singletary being a coach that schemes towards his teams strengths. They sure as hell didn't have the receivers for Mike Martz 5 wide and 7-step dropbacks. Gore is a fucking beast though and the D is solid.

I hope for your sake Hasselbeck isn't out too long cuz of the injured ribs. Wallace is a decent backup so yall could still keep afloat but more than a couple of weeks out could spell trouble.

Well the thing about Gore is we were missing two of our starting LB's in that game. That said our D still scares the shit out of me, and the 49ers are steadily improving. It may be a homer pick, but I still feel like if we can get over injuries soon enough (expecially on O) then we will be ok this year. I don't think the 49ers can run like that on everyone, and it was just an expecially shitty D. I do like Frank Gore and wish he was in Seattle though.

Yeah I hear you on Hasselbeck...I dunno about him he just can not seem to stay healthy and Seneca is not the answer either. We need Walter Jones back almost as bad too though the O-Line is shit right now. *Sigh* It might just be a long year. A lot of people are starting to openly wonder if we should have drafted a QB this past draft instead of Curry...Time will tell.

Andy Reid Carted Onto Field To Shake Hands With Sean Payton

September 24, 2009 | Issue 45•39 (http://www.theonion.com/content/index/4539) | Onion Sports (http://www.theonion.com/content/news_briefs/sports)

PHILADELPHIA—Unable to walk off the sideline under his own power, Eagles coach Andy Reid was loaded onto a medical cart and driven to the 50-yard line to shake hands with Saints coach Sean Payton after their game Sunday. According to those in attendance, a hush fell over the crowd during the 11 minutes the team's medical staff huddled around Reid, attempting to safely hoist the coach onto the cart with a crew of six grown men. "Coach Reid was conscious, but his breathing was labored and he complained of intense pain all over his body," team physician Dr. Peter DeLuca told reporters. "Once we got him onto the cart we had to stabilize his neck out of fear that it couldn't support his head. The good news is, we only had to use the defibrillator twice." After completing the handshake, Reid gave a thumbs-up to indicate that he wanted the straw in his milkshake to be raised up to his mouth.http://www.theonion.com/content/themes/onion/assets/terminator.gif

Good to see Sinorice Moss get involved, this guy's been a mystery since he's been on the team. Defense is banged up but didn't seem to miss a beat today. Good to see Tuck played. Fred Robbins played very well clogging up those holes and making tackles for losses. Like what I saw from Tyrell Thomas.

GZAjector
09-27-2009, 09:20 PM
and he's he's totally right

here's a completely valid argument someone made on THE HIGH COST OF REPLACING PATRICK RAMSEY

Gibbs spent a #3 pick for Brunell
Having spent that #3, it cost a #4 to move up and take Cooley in the draft
The cap hit for Brunell contributed to losing Antonio Pierce to a division rival
Gibbs spent a #1, #3 and #4 for Jason Campbell and, to this point, we can't be sure he's a solid QB

Ramsey made 24 starts for the Skins, 17 of them for Spurrier. We won ten of those games (42%). Jason is 20 -26 as a starter (44%) with better coaching and better talent around him. Brunell didn't do any better.

So, adding it up: replacing Patrick Ramsey has cost us Antonio Pierce, A #1 pick, two #3s and two #4s and we have yet to see improvement at the QB position. Now, suppose we had kept Pierce and used the cap space spent on Fletcher at another position. Let's also suppose we had kept those five high draft picks and used them on the O-line. Can you imagine the powerhouse support we would now have in support of any QB?

throw the murder of sean taylor in there somewhere too.

btw, the steelers are better than the redskins, but the lions are worse than the bengals, so stfu instead of just diving right into the shit talk while pretending nothing happened to shitsburg.

You're not allowed to run that route in the NFL any more? bullshit call. Its wasn't blatant and you gotta let people play especially at the end of games.

---Idiot blogger at NBC Sports website takes a shot at Ben Roethlisberger and professional wrestling as a whole.

Not too long after Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was named the guest host of next week's WWE Raw, a blogger on the NBC Sports website felt his need to weigh in. "Actually, it's fitting that Roethlisberger would get the nod, given that embellishing injuries is one of the standard job requirements for the 'wrestlers'". To read the blog and the responses, click here.

Twill's Two Cents: This pisses me off two fold. First of all, wrestlers are the best athletes in the world and when out of shape and uninformed morons question their injuries, it is ridiculous. Secondly, Big Ben is one of the toughest players in the NFL. There have been times when he should have sat down, but battled through an injury to play.

Ha ha. I know. The Jags got a win so I have to agree with the call. I don't know if they can find any wins on their own with their horrible defence.

The blatant call I talked about was when Holt was pulled down when the ball was still 3 or 4 feet away from him against the Cards.

lol I hear you there. If the roles had been reversed I'd feel the same way. And speaking of horrible defense. Houston is DEAD LAST against the run. It sucks that you can go into a season with so much hope and watch it all go up in flames in three weeks. :lmao: there's still plenty of the season left to turn it around but we're letting backs get atleast one run of 60+yards every fuckin game. The shit kills me.
