Yeah, there was an article about how the practice players, that don't play in any games, make more than $5,000 a week for the minimum. So if the lowest paid players are making six digits a year, I think they can afford to pay for health insurance. lol I do feel bad in a way for the players if they do have to pay for the insurance themselves though, because they may only be able to have 14 cars instead of 15.

Patriots QB Tom Brady involved in Boston car accident

08:38 AM

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was involved in a car accident on Thursday morning, WEEI-AM (http://audio.weei.com/m/34025577/tom-brady-in-car-accident.htm) in Boston reported.
The station, with which Brady has a scheduled appearance each week, said Brady did not go to the hospital but was "shaken."
The Boston Globe (http://twitter.com/shalisemyoung/status/24004808750) and ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nfl/news/story?id=5549709) reported that Brady left the scene after the accident and was headed to work at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
The Patriots host the Cincinnati Bengals in the season opener on Sunday.
Boston police confirmed to the Globe (http://twitter.com/albertbreer) that one person was removed from a car via the Jaws of life and then taken to a hospital. One car hit a pole, which then fell.
Police told the paper they responded to the incident at 6:34 a.m. ET.
WHDH-TV in Boston had video of the accident (http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/local/12002173077017/tom-brady-involved-in-2-car-accident/), which involved a red minivan and a black Audi.
On Wednesday, Brady spoke about how he wants to remain with the Patriots for his career (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2010/09/tom-brady-says-he-wants-to-stay-with-patriots-but-uncomfortable-talking-about-contract/1), but did not confirm that the sides are close to an extension of a contract. His current deal expires after this season.
Update 9:02 a.m. ET: A user on the photo sharing site Yfrog posted two photos (http://yfrog.com/mvdtqxj) of what appears to be Brady outside a black sedan after the accident. One of the photos (http://yfrog.com/htsj8rj) shows fire officials on the scene.

Nuff said. Redskins didn't show me much though. They made plays where they needed to. If the Cowboys O-Line doesn't get shit together they are in big trouble. Redskins will be fine because McNabb still has it. It's only Week 1 so I'm not ready to count out Dallas just like I said last year. I know them too well to put them down. I'm glad we're playing the NFC East this year. I won't have to resort to speculation this year when it comes to knowin what's what, win or lose. The Dallas team I've seen this year doesn't scare me. If you don't live in the broadcast area you might not now just how much they were on the cusp of winning games last year. The opener against the Jets was the only one we stunk up, all other 15 went down to the wire. The running game and the experience will be the biggest factors this year. We just might win the division. Already a game up and own a tie-breaker over the Colts, not a bad way to start:b

actually I do get texans games. I don't know how it may work in other markets, but I see 3 games a week on network television (not including sunday night games). it's always either 2 cbs & 1 fox, or 2 fox & 1 cbs. since I live in Texas it depends on when both the cowboys and the texans play. if either play a night game then I might get a denver broncos game (not always). Vick's passing looks better than it ever has. There's a reason dude was drafted when he was.

The game today was fun to watch. McNabb played great but we forced you to be one-dimensional, hard to close out the game if you can't run it. Still took some luck between the deep pass to Galloway that just missed, the blocked FG and the one that got iced. The NFC East looks wide-open this year.

true. The Cardinals are fucked at QB right now. If they've got a rookie on the bench they like then they might as well play him and see what they've got. Few have gotten paid on a single season like Derek Anderson.

Straight embarrased by the Colts. A Super Bowl caliber team but still what a dissapointing game. Giants better get their shit together for this week. I hope Collins is coming in to Giants Stadium as the starter and I hope we kick the Titans ass because we owe them one. We both played good teams last week so this should be a test of what the Giants and Titans are all about. But atleast the rest of the NFC East had a shitty week and Kolb is back in Philly so they'll suck again.

Told you Doochster about Freeman. Not that he'll come back down to Earth eventually but dude's making some strides as a second year QB. Last year Dooch you don't remember the Bucs beating the Saints? No I don't watch Bucs all year but down I do see enough em on TV and radio. Don't you get Bengals games throughout the year sometimes?

--McKinley's death moves Woody Paige to share his depression story

If you watch ESPN's "Around The Horn" or keep up with America's most prominent sports columnists, you know of Woody Paige. He's written for the Denver Post for 29 years, but is probably better known now for the goofball character he sometimes plays on ESPN.

The tragic suicide of Broncos wide receiver Kenny McKinley(notes) hit close to home with Paige, because, as he wrote in his column Thursday, he's been suicidal himself. He went so far as to create a detailed plan of how he'd do it.

The last, desperate, despondent, despicable act was all planned out. The Broncos were playing on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, against the 49ers. I would fly into San Francisco the day before, drive up to Napa Valley, enjoy a bottle of expensive red wine and check into a nice inn. The next morning I would head over to the coast and swim out in the Pacific Ocean far enough that I couldn't make it back to the beach.

My death would be termed an "accidental drowning," and my family and few friends would be horrified, but spared the humiliation.

I figured out the details while laying on the sofa staring at the ceiling for hours, as I did daily, and swallowing the pills a prominent Denver psychiatrist had prescribed over a period of months — Prozac, Ritalin, Xanax, Valium, Ambien and Zoloft — and swilling Jack Daniel's.

I had everything to live for, but wanted nothing more than to die.

I was suffering from deep depression.

Fortunately, a friend intervened and helped Paige get medical attention. That was eight years ago.

If he can share this column and still appear on television every day, I'd guess he's doing all right now. But I think that's part of the point he's trying to make here -- it's not necessarily going to be obvious when someone, even someone you're very close to, is suffering from depression.

Depression doesn't discriminate. It can hit people who, on the surface, have everything going for them. Like, for example, young NFL players with their whole lives ahead of them. Depression isn't always logical or rational, but it's powerful, it's misunderstood and it's more widespread than most people imagine.

Paige passed on a link to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and I'll do the same. Here's its website, and if you or someone you know is in need of immediate help, it urges you to call 1-800-273-TALK.

September 28, 2010. Last week NFL offensive lineman Alex Mack, a player for the Cleveland Browns, made a startling claim. That during an NFL game, Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Shaun Smith grabbed his genitals. At the time most thought that Alex’ claims were NOT CREDIBLE.

Well this week, another victim of ASSAULT has come forward. Two days ago, Anthony Davis, an offensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers is making the VERY SAME CLAIM. Anthony told CNSBayArea.com:"He tried to feel me . . . That's weird, right? In each instance that Shaun felt up his opponent – they lashed back. Both offensive lineman fought off his advances – and ended up getting a 15 yard penalty for unnecessary roughness. Obviously the referees didn’t see that they were merely RESPONDING to an unwanted sexual assault.

the eagles were stupid on three levels, first was signing kevin kolb for more years, thus making him the future of the team while mcnabb was still on the roster. second was signing michael vick as a third string quarterback knowing the possibility that kolb would struggle as a starter (while mcnabb was still on the roster). third was kicking mcnabb out the team just so they don't look as stupid for giving kolb so much money, then later realising the dude sucks. fuck it cut your losses, and move on with michael vick at starter, and call jeff garcia.

The Eagles agreed to a one-year contract extension with QB Kevin Kolb on Thursday.

The contract runs through the 2011 season. Scout.com reported it guarantees $12.26 million to Kolb.

yeah, no such thing as a guarenteed contract. once you get cut, they quit paying you. the signing bonus is yours to keep though.

good move by the Pats. They are loaded with additional picks next year and need to infuse new talent.

They weren't good enough to win the superbowl this year anyway plus they werent going to pay Moss after the season.

alright faggots what do you think of this proposed trade...

guy is offering me tom brady and forsett (who i would just drop and pick up fred jackson from waivers) for jonathan stewart and cedric benson

???

i havent played stewart yet this year, and benson is usually my flex guy behind dangelo williams and mike turner. but i have hakeem nicks and hines ward i can put in the flex position to make up for the loss.

at qb i have flacco, palmer, and sanchez.

Former New York Jets (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/new-york-jets/67057) quarterback Brett Favre (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/brett-favre/69674) allegedly threw a Hail Mary pass to a comely young sideline reporter for the team -- sending her an embarrassing slew of steamy propositions and lewd photos, the New York Post reported Friday.
The voicemails and MySpace messages -- as well as three raunchy pictures of a man's genitals -- were posted Thursday in a two-minute video on the sports (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Minnesota-Vikings-Brett-Favre-racy-allegations-no-comment-100710#) blog Deadspin.com.
Top sex scandals (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/lists/Biggest-sports-sex-scandals)

From Steve Garvey to Tiger Woods, take a look at our top sports sex scandals (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/lists/Biggest-sports-sex-scandals).

The string of missives and voicemails was purportedly an attempt by the married grandfather to charm brunette beauty Jennifer Sterger, who is currently a co-host of "The Daily Line," a nightly sports roundup that airs on cable's Versus network.
The gray-haired grid great sidestepped questions Thursday at a press conference in Minnesota, where he now plays for the Vikings (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/minnesota-vikings/67053).
"I'm not getting into that. I've got my hands full with the Jets," a stone- faced Favre said about the Deadspin report.
Favre, who will turn 41 on Sunday, is getting set to return to New York to face the Jets on Monday night.
The gravelly voice caught on tape sounds remarkably like the quarterback propositioning Sterger, 26, a former Playboy pinup, in voice mails from 2008, when both were with the Jets.
In one, Favre allegedly drones, "Just got done with practice. Got meetings here for a couple more hours, then I'm going back to the hotel to just chill.
"So send me a text. So I'll be in the building for a couple of hours. But, uh, I know [unintelligible] came up and asked ya for your number or gave you my number. But I understand. Send me a text. I'd love to see you tonight. All right, talk to you later. Bye."
A MySpace message to Sterger, purported to be from Favre, was first posted by Deadspin last summer. It was sent to Sterger by someone with the tag "Screaming Lord Byron."

(http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/gallery/nfl-cheerleaders-photos-from-the-games) "I saw you in the tunnel at the game last week got your name from front-office person. I'm new to team with gray hair all the info I can give," the message read.
Sterger allegedly told Deadspin in August that she did not want her name attached to the tawdry tale and that Favre was not her type. "I don't roll that way. That way meaning old . . . or married," according to an email the blog reprinted.
Sterger's manager, Phil Reese, told The Post she had no comment Thursday, and denied she had provided the messages to the site.
Neither Favre's agent nor his assistant responded to the Post's requests for a comment about the allegations.

Recently retired Glen Coffee arrested for having concealed weapon
When former San Francisco 49ers running back Glen Coffee(notes) retired from the NFL this summer at the age of 23, he said it was because God told him to leave football and enter the ministry. He didn't mention whether or not he was supposed to accept his higher calling while carrying an automatic pistol.

Coffee was arrested in Florida on Friday morning for carrying a concealed firearm, according to TMZ. Police found the weapon cocked in his center console during a traffic stop.

The former NFL player had been pulled over for speeding in his 2008 Cadillac and was soon discovered to be driving a car without insurance or registration. When police searched the car before it was to be towed, they found the loaded weapon.

Police arrested Coffee and charged him with a third-degree felony, which is punishable in Florida by up to five years in jail. The arrest came in Coffee's hometown of Ft. Walton Beach.

In his rookie season with the 49ers, Coffee ran the ball 83 times for 226 yards and one touchdown. He was a third-round pick out of Alabama, where he made first-team All-SEC in his junior season.

texans versus giants comin up. If they don't get a passrush like they did it against chicago, I don't think they'll have the offense to hang, 27-17 final (if Mario plays) 34-24 if not. Cushing comes back to make a difference on D.

What is Glen Coffee doing driving without car insurance and no registration? He's a idiot. Isn't Brett Favre married? I believe he's married and i'm sure he has kids. Men need to be careful trying to get with women because when women reject you, you should leave them alone and move on to the next woman. Women are very sensitive and it's really bad when your a entertainer because they'll try to go after your money and take you to court for sexual harrassment. Clinton Portis of the Redskins is out for 4-6 weeks. It doesn't make sense to me for the Redskins to get rid of Willie Parker and Larry Johnson because of what happened to Clinton. LOL@Jason Campbell of the Raiders is benched already hahahahahahaha. I'm surprised Cleveland beat Cincinnati last week. The Browns might win about 3-4 games this year and Eric Mangini will get fired LOL. I don't understand why Randy Moss would ask for more money from the Patriots when he's getting older and the Patriots are a better team than the Vikings. Maybe the Vikings might be a good situation for him again.

Has anybody heard about Lawrence Taylor's situation about him messing with a underage girl trying to have sex with her? Is he gonna go to prison or do some community service and pay a fine?

Is this the main reason they traded Moss? lol A homeless guy and Leif Garrett getting into an argument?

Before he was traded to the Minnesota Vikings, Randy Moss got into a catfight with Tom Brady about, all of things, his facial hair.

According to Charley Casserly of CBS, Brady and Moss had a verbal altercation before the trade and that the pair had to be separated. During the spat, Brady told his receiver to shave his beard. Moss responded that Brady should cut his hair, because he looks like a girl.

After beating the shit outta the Bears, Giants put together another good game. Looks like they're back on the right track. Still some of the playcalling had me pissed off. Throwing the ball on 3 straight downs late in the 3rd was stupid. But the defense straight shut Houston down. Cowboys are in the cellar looking up at the rest of the division, so that's good. Can't sleep on Detroit next week.

Hakeem Nicks is looking like the best WR in the league right now.

Dirty Knowledge
10-11-2010, 02:23 AM
It was a beatdown. That's why you were down to your 3rd string. How come Forte was running all over the Panthers, and all over everyone this year? But against Big Blue he got his ass shut down? I guess you have to play those cupcakes to look good. And how come you haven't mentioned the Bears O-Line until after that game? The week before, you were all "BEARS BEST TEAM IN THE NFC" hahaha. Giants tapped that ass. It's history now though. Detroit next week. Maybe we can beat them by more than 5, or whatever the Bears were lucky to beat them by with a cheap call at the end.
