It's official. The Mobb has done it. I had my reservations, even after their last albums, but they signed with 50. Even after he brought up Jay's diss at summerslam on his record. Damn, anything for money, huh?

Wow...I heard about this but I was hoping it wasn't true. Well, we can all still hold onto our Infamous albums.

I heard a track, can't remember what it was called but it was a slowed down In Da Club, Havoc does the stutter at the starting, man hip hop is getting gay.

TheFrza

Yeah, they're making a video w/ 50 now. It's on MTV2. They have shirts that say

Mobb Deep
G-Unit
Game Over

Havoc even says "It's all about dollars and cents" on there. Even worse the song is a basic 50-sings track. I really hate hip-hop now-a-days.

I'm watchin the making of Outta Control remix video on MTV2 right now, its the first song with Mobb Deep on G-Unit

and, on the show, Havoc said they went to G-Unit for the money. Cant really blame them, its a probably a shitload more than they were making. It still sucks they have to resort to selling out to make money. They dumbed down their lyrics seriously though, here is some of Havoc's lyrics from their new song

"If you wanna search me, then search me, but hurry up cause I'm thristy" - Havoc

WTF. He's also talkin bout dance floors and shit.

Bye Mobb Deep

I had faith they could pull it together, but all hope is lost. They WERE one of the few groups I buy every CD from. WU, Outkast, Nas. That's it now.

You have not even heard the album yet dude????

that OUT OF CONTROL song is better than 3/4 of the stuff on INFAMY or AMERIKAZ NIGHTMARE.......

.....some of you dudes hear G-UNIT and you get your Tampon twisted.........MOBB is going to get some serious burn now on MTV.......I am stoked

You're stoked to hear some watered-down "I want money now, I'll sign with anyone to get it" wack, commercial, predictable, and G-Unit type shit?

I understand hip-hop is at an all time low as far as quality, but i'm sure you're not stoked over this. BTW anything under 50 has been and always will be exactly what is described above.

I understand hip-hop is at an all time low as far as quality, but i'm sure you're not stoked over this. BTW anything under 50 has been and always will be exactly what is described above. To be honest, I think OUTTA CONTROL does not sound any different than stuff on INFAMY or AMERIKAZ NIGHTMARE.......so I really dont understand what all the crying is about.......like there is no fuckin 112 or JOE hook on this song............

......I love the MOBB, but INFAMY and AMERIKAZ NIGHTMARE were just average albums to me.......maybe signing to the biggust label in rap will put a fire under PRODIGY's ass, and he will start rapping like he did pre-INFAMY.........

To be honest, anyone in rap would sign to AFTERMATH records......all your favorite underground rappers, would give there left nut to sign with AFTERMATH, if AFTERMATH wanted them..........I think you would have to be a retard to not sign to the biggust rap label in the world that gets the most exposure

wait till the album comes out.........if it is full of JOE.....RnB collabos...let the hating begin........

i'll save my thoughts on their potential commercialism until i hear more new shit. i still like their lyrics, i dont need hear shit else from pee except what hes been sayin for years so when u guys talk about all he does is bust guns, shit thats what i wanna hear anyway and i hate when people change their content, whether its too sell more or attract a different audience (fat joe) so my view wont be based on lyrics but more on if the beats sound overly mainsteam...but if they keep it grimey they'll always have at least one record sale.

If I was an underground rapper, I sure wouldn't sign with G-Unit. Personally, I would be embarassed to have a number 1 single, given the state of music these days. Also, if I was making as much money as those artists, what the hell would I do with the money? I'd rather be working than sitting around on millions.

At first i didn't want to assume they would loose it after signing with G-unit, cause come on, you name on a dotted line won't effect god given talent, but i heard that single they got out now and it was sad to see. The whole time i just kept remembering seening these same faces on Quite Storm, now they're going the EXACT same thing evverryyones doing, but i haven't heard all they new shit they got some in not gonna disrecpect them without seening where they stand now, completely.

For all of you saying this is logical and is what hip-hop is all about, don't you understand that this is EXACTLY what is WRONG with hip-hop. It is not about sells. Make good music and you will sell records. Don't sign with the most wacked out label. Don't make a song with 50 singing on the hook. For people to just accept this and make it sound like a good idea really scares me and really makes me think hip-hop as we knew it is gone. We should officially change the genre to pop-hop or hip-pop.

Anyone who thinks Mobb deep is going to push major numbers again is crazy. The only people who were buying Mobb albums were the hardcore fans, and now even they won't.
Mobb deep is old news, they could have verses from Eminem and 50 cent, with Jesus Christ on the chorus and they still won't sell.
