For those of you that don't know what second Life is about I'll try to explain this to yall in laymen terms- the possibilities and potential.

www.secondlife.com (http://www.secondlife.com) is where to get the free game.

Now for the importance of this game.

This game is going to revolutionize the Internet whether we like it or not.

This game has it's own real currency.

This game gives you the ability to build/create whatever the fuck you can think of.

This game will revolutionize the entertainment industry. (Imagine a movie chain joining the game to host live movie theaters - it's in the works)

The game can be like a live face 2 face forums where we can build on a totally different level- live face 2 face.

The game can host live music streams - the possibilities for this are endless. A few big name artists have held concerts in the Second Life world. It's possible in other words to host live DJ events online or shows or MC Battles. Very easily.

You can create your own line of whatever you can think of on here and even- if you have a real entrepreneur inside of you- take your SL biz to the Real World.

You can choose your own destiny in here like real life- the game is like the beginning of something that you don't want to miss out on. The possibilities are endless. I built a safe house for guys to come in there if the need help and directions or if you just want to chill to some movies or underground
hip-hop my house is open.

I manage a club and play live music in there so far and plan on getting into making animations - jewelry and clothing. It's not like the Sims- 6 million registered users and potential sales. Real people. Real interests -real money - real feelings. Too real sometimes for some.

Don't forget it's free to play and make money- though you need a premium account to own land. But you can make money on your own still without a premium account and rent land or accommodations.

There is nothing you cant do in Second Life.
Dam I sound like an advertisement. But I want to see you guys in there man.

Ya'll need to help me build a 36 Chamber Wu mansion. Imagine that shit- with a build room - a lab to talk about produce music. The possibilties are endless I stress again.

My name is Gnos Enoch in there for now. We have 4 so far from these boards and need to see way more.

Any type of growth, be it actual or virtual, is growth all the same. A program like second life would, in my opinion, stimulate one who does not think of themselves as creative into making or doing something that would further his creativity and extend it into the real world. But that's only if you have enough drive.

I checked it out and after u sign up on the terms of agreements it says the game is owned by a research company. Do any of you think the game is meant to spy on people and collect data, kind of like a human psychology experiment?

<H1>Broadcaster's virtual world is 'bombed'

Tue May 22, 2:02 PM

SYDNEY (AFP) - Cyber vandals have "bombed" an island created by Australia's state broadcaster in the virtual world of Second Life, the company said Tuesday.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) said its island in the alternative universe where companies are carving out virtual presences had been "griefed," or subjected to virtual vandalism.

Abigail Thomas, the head of strategic development in ABC Innovation which runs the island, said a hacker had "bombed" the island and various features that users had painstakingly created had been removed.

"We will now be looking closely at security measures, investigating how the hackers breached the existing security and, of course, making changes to protect the island's future development," she said.

The island, which bears the shape of the ABC's logo, boasts features in which visitors can listen to music, hear talks and watch videos of some of the broadcaster's shows.

Features including a virtual amphitheatre and a "Sandbox" were however obliterated and the San Francisco-based company that runs Second Life, Linden Labs, was trying to restore them, Thomas said.

In the meantime the ABC's island remains off limits to cybernauts for the next day or two.

Second Life creates an alternative 3D world where users, incarnated in the new universe by their "avatars," or animated proxies, is fast gaining popularity around the world.

But as in the real world, mischief and violence pervades the virtual realm too.

Last week, acrimonious Spanish politics spread into the virtual world when supporters of socialist and conservative parties tried to burn down each others' party offices on Second Life.

Other firms with Second Life incarnations have also been targeted by "bomb" attacks.

The Second Life Liberation Army, or SLLA, which was campaigning for virtual democracy, detonated bombs outside a virtual American Apparel store and a Reebok store earlier this year.
