This album sucks. Who is this guy anyway? He must be a real new-jack if he didn't think people would know he stole his name from PRINCE RAKEEM.

SAY THAT YOU ARE JOKING
PLEEEEEASEEEEE

because the only two guys that I love like the Wu are Nas & Rakim...

and Rakim is the GOD that created a classics albums that influenced the Wu and Nas before they started recording...

2 things:

1) I'd really like to see a track by track review of the album

2) If 'shake' wasn't joking when he made that post, i'd really like to see him skullfucked to death with a rusty breadknife.

Very disappointing album because of the beats. Guess Who's Back song is tight but the rest of the songs i didn't like because of the beats.

Hahahaha, you fucken humourless cunts. Shakeyourdick's post was hilarious. Of course he was fucken joking.

Anyway, it's a pretty good album. Most of it is good, but not exceptional. There's a couple of skippables on it. Rakim is legendary. He's on point throughout, but it's not a particularly great album as whole.

Don't know... I think this album isn't Rakim at his best (He can do way better). I didn't like the beats and there were too many skits.

I rate it 7/10. It's definitely better than average and it's solid.

Mystery (Who is God) is such a great song, i luv the way he raps on that and the messgae he's sending, One of my favorite Rakim tracks. Great Solo Album from Ra, hopefully his new one will be even better.

The Saga Begins is my favorite Rakim song ever. That song alone puts this album in another Stratosphere.

i've liked this album since the first time I heard it, don't know why y'all saying the beats are wack?! Rakim is always extremely dope on the mic (besides on The Master where he was good but not extraordinary) and he rips shit on each and every joint on here. "Stay A While" is the only weak track here and maybe 2 more ain't really up to par with the others but still nice. the only problem is that theres only 10 songs - and with so few songs there's NO room for filler to make a really banging album.

but still how the fuck can someone not like "It's Been A Long Time", "The Saga Begins", "When I'm Flowin", "Guess Who's Back" (especially the alternative mix).

8/10

yeah 7/10 it was a good album, but not a classic, I wanted more tracks with Pete Rock, lyrically it was very rich, but there were some weak production moments, Rakim needs to hook up with DJ Premier,Pete Rock, Large Professor and Showbiz and Buckwild and release the album we know he still has in him.

wtf. 7s?

The album is nasty. You can't fuck with the lyrics. Production is not top notch, but still above average (just a lil too much scratching). I could do without the remixes and the skits.

Top 5: The 18th Letter, Remember That, The Saga Begins, Guess Who's Back, Mystery

Grade: (4.7/5) A+

i'm suprised almost no one in this entire thread besides me has mentioned "When I'm Flowing" which is one of the illest joints on the album no doubt... nasty, nasty beat and Rakim closes the LP perfect with this gem...... don't sleeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppp
