The rise and fall of former world boxing champion Mike Tyson will be chronicled in an upcoming documentary (http://sohh.com/articles/article.php/11647#) that is reportedly in the works.
According to Daily Variety, the doc titled Tyson will be directed by James Toback, who revealed that he will be using more than 30 hours of interviews with the ex-champ to trace the infamous pugilist's road to self-destruction.
"The point is not to polish his image or make a cinematic apology, but rather to get a firsthand look at a very complex and epic story," Toback explained. "He was honest about all the things that have highlighted his life, from his bitter divorce, the ear-biting, prison, to his becoming a sex addict. He is self-aware, smart and a totally fractured personality, and he made himself completely vulnerable."
"I appreciate that Mr. Toback gave me an opportunity to be involved in this project," Tyson said. "I will, to the best of my abilities, give a truthful account of myself."
Toback's directing credits include Black and White and When Will I Be Loved, which both starred Tyson. The Hollywood director also portrayed Warner Music (http://sohh.com/articles/article.php/11647#) Group CEO Lyor Cohen in the ironic flick of the Roc-A-Fella Records break up Death Of A Dynasty.
"Tyson" is expected to wrap up in the fall and ICM (International Creative Management) will sell worldwide rights.
The Brooklyn bred boxer made headlines this past December when he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of cocaine in Arizona (http://www.sohh.com/articles/article.php/10569). Tyson, who pled not guilty to the charges, is expected to stand trial in August.

I'm gonna check out the documentary because Mike was one of my favorite boxers. It's a shame how sad his life is now. He should've saved his money instead of spending it on stupid stuff. He also should've never married Robin Givens because she only wanted his money. Any woman that gets involved with Mike has to be a retard LOL. He also used to be married to a black woman that is a lawyer in Washington DC. I wonder how he got her to marry him LOL. I know educated women don't wanna be bothered with Mike. I saw at Walmart that ESPN has a dvd on Mike Tyson's fights. I wanna buy that and look at his classic fights again. He used to make me laugh how quick he used to knock boxers out. He couldn't do nothing with Buster Douglas, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis.
