View Full Version : Which NYC Borough has the best talent.

mofo

Which NYC borough (besides Shaolin obviously) has the best emcees? IMO, the best Borough is Brooklyn. Brooklyn has Notorious BIG (RIP), Boot Camp clik, Oc, MOP, Jeru the damaja, shabazz the disciple, Az, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, ODB (RIP) and Jay-Z (Before I get flammed I said talent and overal emcees, i'm not talking about the most lyrical. Jigga has shown over the years that he can hold his own. 'Nuff said). IMO I would rank the boroughs like this-

1) Brooklyn
2) Queens
3) Bronx (Real close to queens though)
4) Manhattan (Other than Big L, you got dipset and mase/loon running manhattan)

so which borough do you think is the best?

What the fuck? LOL

Let's analyze this....When we talk Hip Hop...What borough can match this list. And I'm only listing influential artists that have impacted the industry....

A Tribe Called Quest
Run DMC
Nas
Kool G Rap
Intelligent Hoodlum/Tragedy Khadafi
Mobb Deep
50 Cent
Roxanne
MC Shan & Marley Marl....

Each brought something new to the element of Hip Hop. Now that's talent homey.

Queens Is sick.. but I'd have to say Brooklyn !

Queens got : "Royal Flush" , "Nashawn" , "Mobb Deep" , "Tragedy Khadafi" , "Cormega" , "A-Pinks" , "I.M.A.M. Thug" , "Littles" , "Nas" , "Capone & Noreaga" , "Big Noyd" , "Large Professor" , "Onyx" !! ow and "Lakey The Kid" and "Bravehearts" ..

Now that's ill as fuck.. a really raw line-up but Brooklyn has that knowledge-rap. You feel me ? Kicking wisdom instead of grimey thug stories.. allright.. check this BK shit :

"Pumpkinhead", "Illa Ghee" , "Shabazz The Disciple" , "Hell Razah" , "AZ" , "Talib Kweli" , "Mos Def" , "MOP" , "Big Daddy Kane" , "Fabolous" , "Raekwon" , "Killah Priest" , "Agallah (The Don Bishop)" "Ike Eyes" (Local legend) ..

I love Brooklyn with all my heart and maybe i'm biased.
