the song choice was easy, nas didn't impress me reusing the same sample from his last album's single. hip hop lives had a good beat, krs speaks the truth.

album, both are different. hip hop is dead wasn't nas's best album. Hip Hop Lives have more tracks that i'll bump on my ipod.

Hip Hop Lives all the way

i agree on this one

Hip-hop is dead as an album wins for me, though

I can't believe so many people are voting Hip Hop Lives... it was nice... but c'mon it wasn't really that good. The message and idea was there but Nas' song and album were better. Especially production wise.

Really? I thought Nas shit was horrible production wise! I liked Hip Hop Lives much better.

IMO the production on Hip Hop Lives was super-duper-average. At least there were some really hot tracks on Hip Hop Is Dead to counter the few not so good ones. Hip Hop Is Dead (song) is an incredible beat. I don't care if it's he same sample Will.I.Am used it so well. The drum fills and changeups on that track are immense.

so people can use the same samples as the song they used as a single for their last album and get away with it if its catchy? hmmmm...ok.

hip hop lives wins both of them for me, maybe its cos i expected too much from nas? well, dont make a statement like "hip hop is dead" and put out sub par quality
