Listen up if u all ready know this then dont curse me out..

When u dl a album off the internet , hold ur mouse ontop of the song and it will tell u how manny megabites it has , and if its 320kbps 250kbps or 192 kbps.

The best quality is 320kbps , A 320kbps is like playing a cd .. BUt if u dl songs off limewire or kazaa then its 128kbps horrible quality , Bad for ur ears, And it wont bang on a stereo or in a car, it will be all choppy,

Try it out urselves , Play a song in 128 loud and play a song 320 kbps .

If u gonna dl a song off the internet Go for the ones for 150mb , Cause 100% of the time its a 320kbps cd quality . If its 97mb then 80% of the time its a 192kbps. And for me 192 is horrible.

50% of the albums on the net are 192kbps because people dont know about this kbps shit.

If you rip an album to .wav it is waaaay over 320 kps....sometimes into the area of 1400 if its digitally remastered. Maybe for mp3 the most is usually 320. FLAC files are lossless and the most you can compress without losing anything but 1 album is like a gig of memory.

When you have over 1000 albums on your computer...the space it takes up is too much if they are all 320.

Unless you have high end audio computer speakers, 192 should be enough. Enough to sample anyway.

If you listen to an original album and 320kbps mp3s in high end audio, you will notice the loss.

56 kbps is "terrible"...

No form of mp3 compression is "cd quality". There would be no point in uncompressed audio if you could compress it and it still be the same quality.

Anything below 128k is really poor. I only use mp3s for listening on headphones when I'm out and about, so I can put up with 128k because with all the background noise it's not such a problem. I prefer to use at least 192k though.

I never play mp3s on the stereo, no point. Thats what my decks are for...

lol, wow thanks for telling everyone something they already knew.

the shit i play on decent audio equipment is all original album, the shit i download i either listen to on my comp on the shitty speakers, or on my mp3 player.

heres something you should know, through shitty head phones or shitty equipment there is hardly any difference between them.

if your really concerned about it, just listen to vinyl instead.

LOL...all this info is quit basic I think... who didn't know this ??

and yes....128 kbps is still fine for me...
