I dont hate- but I believe they are depressing. That 1970 Song though is kinda feel good. People on heron are just depressing without meaning to guess.

I never listened to 'em like that.
But they had a video back in the day, like they was falling down the sky lots of stars and a big ass moon. If I remember correctly, it had a nice melody and I liked that track. Wonder if you know the title.

I was on you tube earlier checking some of their music and I have to say I really love that joint Zero.

Zero is Awesome.
I would have to say what got me into them was a live performance of "Cherub Rock". There was this old show called "live on stage" or something like that and they would show most of a set. It would come on regular TV (no Cable) late at night on the weekend or something.
So , I went to buy Siamese Dream. I think it had been out for maybe 3 months or so so I had plenty of time to play the shit out of it and then mellon collie came out (with Zero and bullet with butterfly wings on it).
I was big into this band until the drummer (jimmy chamberland) got so high that their keyboard player at the time OD'd and he got kicked out the band.
I bought Gish waiting on Mellon Collie .... that album blew my mind. The whole sound scape of that album represented what sleep felt like to me.

They do have a great sound, some say their shit is too depressing but I disagree, from what I heard they can flip vibes pretty well.

Havent listened to them in years, but i loved 'Mellon Collie' album when i was younger. People here dont seem to like it, so maybe i wouldnt if i listened to it now, but i thought the whole album was fuckin epic. There was such a variety of songs, but they all fitted together so well, it was simply an experience listening to it.
Liked Gish as well
They're boring, but listenable, and have some good tracks.

They have some good songs and i own two of their albums, but I can't listen to them all the way thru, nor have they ever gotten heavy rotation.
They can get boring.

I can't stand the smashing pumpkins.
I hated them as soon as they came out, and I still hate them.
I do not have the knowledge or expertise to critique their technical musical ability, but I hate the sound of the sad, whining, bitch-ass motherfucker's voice.
I hate all music that sounds blatantly like some some crybaby emoting all over me.
I like feel-good music and hype-music.
Motown and the oldies are my shit.
I think a lot of my hatred stems from the time-period it came out. I was in middle school, and rap music was in its early hey-day and everything was cool.
Then came the grunge movement, and regular people started wearing flannel and acting sad about nothing and cutting themselves.
I don't like Nirvana or Pearl Jam either.
I do however like Soundgarden, and for some reason, some Alice in Chains.
