Straight Outta Compton. NWA is better than Public Enemy. I know NWA only made 3 albums. I wouldn't count 100 Miles And Running as a album because it was a ep. NWA And The Posse album is weak. I bet NWA wishes that album shouldn't have been released.

P.E. for me...Chuck D is a smart guy
and I respect that...

N.W.A. were cool, but PE was better on every album they made

CharlesJones

Yeah Little Wayne is his favorite rapper. He brags about him all the time being the best rapper. I disagree that every album Public Enemy has done is tight. Most of their songs are wack because of the wack beats. Last album i heard by them was Music N Hour Message and that album is terrible. Give It Up, I Stand Accused, So Whatcha Gon Do Now are the only good songs on that album. Chuck D is still a good mc but their beats the last 3-4 albums have been terrible.

Lil Wayne is in no way my favorite rapper. At all.

That was weird.

Why do you talk about him so much then like he's such a good rapper?

He did make that up. I never said that.

That being said, I think he's a very good rapper, and 9th Wonder agrees. http://www.xxlmag.com/online/?p=12422

how bout this....NWA equals Ice Cube's (Since he wrote em all, o and ren too i guess) average lyrics, and dre's dope beats....Public enemy equals chuck d's POWERFUL lyrics and bombsquads dope ass beats...

It's interesting that if you read the COMMENTS in this thread is sounds more like people on this boards are feelin' NWA more, but if you look at the actual POLL RESULTS it's clear most on this board are feelin' PE more.

Anyway, I voted PE because to this day I bump all their albums (well...all their albums that had new music on it) and still enjoy the hell out of them. Furthermore "It Takes a Nation..." is arguably their best album (it's a toss up for me between that album and Fear of a Black Planet).

Whoever said Music N Hour had terrible production I couldn't disagree with more. It was a more organic version of what Bomb Squad had been doing years prior. Different? Yes, but very innovate (especially for the time) and very VERY hard hitting.

I would argue that every PE album that had new music on it is worth owning (I have VERY mixed feelings about some of their releases that was remixed however).

It seriously depends on what you like, NWA right here though, they had more of an impact on ME then PE.

I don't like either that much, but I voted ITAMTHUB because its historical.

I vote for PE - NWA didn't have same cohesion. It's true they were both loud and shocking at the time, but NWA varied from killer anthem "Straight Outta Compton" to that party thing "Something 2 Dance 2", and PE stayed on focus whole album long. Plus Hank Shocklee was miles ahead of Dre at the time.

Possibly prefer Straight Outta Compton flow wise, but Nation got the knowledge.

If I didn't speak English I'd have gone for Straight Outta Compton (if that makes sense), as I do I went for Nation.

^^ I dont understand how can anyone say one of those albums can suck. If u into old school, those two dont suck in any way, that's why i picked them in the first place..
I know couple of ppl who into rap, but they would laough to those albums, cuz they dont feel that shit...

WuGambino

I love "old school".
But as an album Straight Outta Compton is sucky. Has a few good tracks and was influential but it really was not that good an album.
