Daft Punk is sick 4sure, they are def. in my top 10 list for artists I want to see live in concert.

I've seen em "live"....they put on a wicked light show and the music is tight, but unfortunately the music is all pre-recorded (i.e. mimed)..
a shame as I know plenty of electronic artists who perform live without having to have it pre-recorded (who aint getting paid over 30grand a performance)

that said, I'd recommend you go see one of their (not live) shows...but be sure to get stoned first, lol..

I got Homework, Discovery, and that newest one I kept forgetting the name of (with Technologic, the song Busta sampled).

Daft Punk is hip-hop as hell, they have tracks with Slum Village, Busta Rhymes, Kanye, and the Teriyaki Boyz rapping over or sampling them.

Discovery is a great album, and yes the video for "Da Funk" is classic lol.

Daft Punk are incredible, its pure ear candy, Discovery is probably their best album, it just has a crazy sound, like classic rock melodies over spacey disco.
Homework is okay but it feels a little dated to me, but still enjoyable.

Their last album is actually really good, its a bit less mainstream than usual but all the tracks are great and it still has the same kind of 'Discovery' sound.

I was so freaked out when i first saw the video for Around the world. Back then I was a strictly hiphop head. And this track just had this insane annoying loop. The video did not do very well with that either.

Da funk was another music video that freaked the hell out of me with the dogman walking around.

Looking back I see it for the art that it is. With that I rate Homework higher than Discovery. That was their real commercial breakthrough though. Everybody was playing One more time. And the videos were hailed great too. It was just too polished in my opinion.

Didn't have that underground scratch like those two tracks on Homework. Rokking n Scratching.

Haven't really caught on with Alive after all. Technotronic is crazy though.

Anyway I got mad respect for those guys now. The music and their videos delivered in a great way. And also, there is a sequel to the Da Funk video. Go check it out.

Here yopu got some daft punk samples:

Daft Punk puts on the best live show in the world, out of every artist ever in history. If you think that's bullcrap, check out a show if you're lucky enough to catch one, and undergo a live-changing experience.

Justice is great, they're album was cool, but their new remixes hasnt impressed me! Missed them at this years Roskilde Festival sadly. Concerning Daft Punk.. well, probably one of the three best groups in the genre. Their debut album is amazing, simply amazing. Kanye took a big risk using vocals from Harder, Better... but I think it came out alright!

Daft Punk are fantastic, I've got all three of their albums and I love the unique sound they've done with each. Human After All kickstarted this new French house craze with dudes like Justice. I'm gonna go see Daft Punk at the end of the year, they're doing this crazy festival thing and SebastiAn, Muscles and The Presets are playing as well

Justice are good. I like their album, I like their remixes more but apparently their live show at this festival I was at was shit. I watched M.I.A. so I wouldn't know.

the more i listen to all 3 albums the more i think 'human after all' is their best, i think its harshly underrated, the beats are just fun to listen to and it all sounds really high technical which is dope. I hope they bless us with another joint quick.

Justice is also a dope group, they definetly took some cues from Daft Punk but i think they maintained their own style on their album, some really good stuff on there, the way they take well known samples and cut them up is crazy.

I'm pretty sure Daft Punk will keep up with this 4 year business, I think we'll see their next record (whatever it will sound like) in 2009.

Man most french house has taken some cue from Daft Punk. Justice are cool, I really like how they've switched up their sound since Cross dropped. I just heard their remix of As Above, So Below (Klaxons) and its a much cleaner sound that keeps their choppy signature intact.

Justice are pretty dope, quite a bit harder than Daft Punk, i guess sort of similar to some elements on Homework.

reading about their live shows, on here and elsewhere, i really should scrape the money together to go and see them when they come here in a few months. probably a once in a lifetime experience (this is the last time they tour this particular show, and they have never been to aus before).

i heard that Justice were dope live at Parklife, but i guess come people didnt think so ./

Yeah man, Sydney. I heard afterwards that some cunt had jumped up on the scaffolding while Justice performed. They stopped, the dude from DFA1979/MSTRKRFT came out and started abusing the fuck out of the guy, eventually he got kicked off and Justice came back on but only for another 10 minutes or something.

M.I.A. was awesome, but I'd seen her two nights before at the Forum and she was definitely better in the club setting.

And dude, if you don't have your Daft Punk ticket yet you might have to fork out in order to get one. You're right, this is the last leg of their current tour so its the last time they'll be using the pyramid format.

^^^ yeah i don't wanna hype it up to the point where you almost can't help but be disappointed but seriously, go see the show.

and as far as the comment about it not really being live, it's true that you're not really watching musicians perform an instrument or a rapper freestyle on the mic but they are actually controlling certain elements of the music in realtime. there was an article on pitchfork about it not too long ago. and besides, it's all about the production, the way they put the show together, and being surrounded by thousands of sweaty dancing happy people on drugs.

yeah im definitely going to head along now, too good an opportunity to miss out on.

not sure if anyone else has heard this stuff, but Daf Punk are releasing this live album next year i think, and ive heard this live mix they do combining Hard Better Faster Stronger & Around the World, sounds pretty great.

yeah i realise im going to have to pay a bit extra now, but i'll be doing some full time work in my uni holidays so i should be able to scrape together the money for a few shows.

Kanye, Cypress Hill, Wordsworth, Masta Ace, Nas, Chali 2na, Blackalicious.... i cant keep up with it.

Daft Punk Sample Material Collected on New CD (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/46335-daft-punk-sample-material-collected-on-new-cd) http://assets4.pitchforkmedia.com/images/image/39168.daftpunksmall.jpg? Photo by Kirstie Shanley (http://kirstiecat.com/)

What is it about Daft Punk (http://www.daftpunk.com/) that makes what they do so gosh darned special? Is it the spectacle? The surgical synth-diddling? The blindling glint coming off those robot suits? Or could it be the stellar spate of well-aged, cowbell-heavy disco funk songs on which a lot of their tracks are based?

All of the above, indeed, and galaxies more. But Discovered, a collection of said funky stuff that oughta raise the ear of anyone who's done their share of Homework over the years, puts the focus solely on the music. Discovered collects a dozen tracks from the likes of Chaka Khan, Sister Sledge, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Eddie Johns, and others, mixing a lotta bump and a little smooth R&B-- the stuff that forms the groundwork for some of Daft Punk's finest tracks. You've never truly heard "Digital Love" until you've heard just how much "Digital Love" sounds like a cooled-up version of George Duke's "I Love You More (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjDtns7w27k)". The disc drops November 6 on Rapster (http://www.rapsterrecords.com/).

That pants-sullying Daft Punk live thing picks up again (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/45279-daft-punks-mind-blowing-tour-continues) later this month in Las Vegas, with stops in Mexico, Japan, and Australia before the year's over. If you can't make it-- and lord knows you should give it a go if at all feasible-- the play-at-home version (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/45167-daft-punk-live-album-details-revealed) drops November 20.

Also: Daft Punk is playing in my designer handbag (http://www.louisvuitton.com/web/flash/index.jsp;jsessionid=3RKXZSSXD0Z0WCRBXUXFAHYKEG4RA UPU?buy=1&langue=fr_FR) (just click "Défilé Femmes Printemps-Été 2008").

Discovered:

01 Breakwater: "Release the Beast" ("Robot Rock")
02 George Duke: "I Love You More" ("Digital Love")
03 Edwin Birdsong: "Cola Bottle Baby" ("Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger")
04 Cerrone: "Supernature" ("Verdis Quo")
05 Tata Vega: "Get it Up for Love" ("Da Funk")
06 Karen Young: "Hot Shot" ("Indo Silver Club")
07 Chaka Khan: "Fate" ("Music Sounds Better with You")
08 Sister Sledge: "Il Macquillage Lady" ("Aerodynamic")
09 Oliver Cheatham: "Get Down Saturday Night" ("Voyager")
10 Eddie Johns: "I Put a Spell on You" ("One More Time")
11 Little Anthony & the Imperials: "Can You Imagine" ("Crescendolls")
12 Jerry Goldsmith: "The Rec Room" ("Around the World")

kudos to whomever hits me up.

They aren't that bad. I seen a few videos of their light show concerts.

I guess it'll be fun to go to if you're high and on a pill but electro gets kinda gay after a while.
