Hip-Hop was great during the late 80's and through the 90's. But now, I don't know. I haven't listen to the radio nor watched music videos in years. Personally, hip-hop is dying at a slow pace. No one doesn't want to be real anymore. What happen to writing rhymes wiht perfection? Artists today just want to be R-N-B rappers, nothing else. I hear more R-N-B rap than ever.

That's why I stick to what's real, not weak. Thanks.

I agree with everything Ironman said. Rap music is too watered down right now and commercialized. Wack ass southern rappers with their elementary rhymes need to stay out the game. Same thing goes for wack eastcoast and westcoast artists. If you only wanna be a rapper just to get paid, get girls and be famous, stay the fuck out the game because hip hop isn't for you. Go get a fucking job driving delivery trucks, being a lawyer, doctor or something else if you ain't trying to be a real mc and do this rap music for the love of the artform.

Another problem i have with rap music right now is that too many rappers brag about what they got, how many women they've fucked and how lyrically tight they are when they're wack as fuck. Plus rappers be letting these record companies control their asses and that's why so many of them be putting out wack shit because wack shit sells. I believe that wack rappers wanna do underground street music but the record companies be telling them they don't want them to do that type of music because that type of music doesn't sell and they believe that shit. Just like Parrish Smith of EPMD said on EPMD's Crossover song, coochie gonna be large, yeah right that's what the record company says. Forget the black crowd, your wack now in a zoot suit fronting black looking mad foul. Those are true words about how foul these record companies are and the record company person that's in charge be pumping these artists heads up telling them lies that if they do radio/pop/club music that their records will sell millions and they'll get plenty of pussy hahahahahahahahahaha. Most rappers will believe that bullshit from the CEO of a record company rather than do the type of real hip hop music they should be doing for the streets and the underground. Ya'll should listen to Willie D's So What song from his Unbreakable album because he disses rappers who always be bragging about what they got and they aren't talking about shit else. The song is funny. Willie D is in the Geto Boys for those who don't know who he is. Here's how the hook goes on the song.

So what you got a new set of wheels. So what they put your house on cribs. So what you filthy rich. So what you filthy bitch LOL. So what you got ice in your chain. So what you got boppers(slang word for bitches)giving you brain. So what you filthy rich. So what you filthy bitch LOL.

Nah bro, it's off the X-Ecutioners "Revolutions" album. Theres heaps of dope stuff out there that goes unheard. Not baggin you man, but the people who say "hip-hop is dead" just don't even look, this came out in 2004 - hip-hop aint that dead, its just gone back underground.

I just don't bother listening to the radio or watching music channels. It's all just commercial R'n'B rap and shit coming out now so I don't see the point. Even if some good stuff does come out (like this for example) they never get any airplay, the same fucking songs just get played over and over.

We can all name some good music videos, that's not the point. The point is that most of the shit on the radio and TV is commercial RnB rap, so like I said earlier, people just don't bother with it.

hip hop is still alive, there just alot of other stuff in the way...

i probably listen to music about half the time im awake though.

post 2000 till about 2005 was a dope period imo.

but if you strictly like 90's style queensbridge hip hop or something like that then hip hop is obviously dead for you.

I personally have never given a fuck about 'people'. There's enough great music out there for me to listen to. I don't need it to be on MTV or mainstream radio for me to enjoy it. Commercial hip-hop may be dead, but the underground aint gone nowhere and that's all I care about.

Besides, I was replying to a guy who said he hadn't watched music videos in years. So I gave him some to watch.

I don't give a fuck about "people" either, all I was saying is I don't listen mainstream hip-hop because it's all shit and so I stick to my own music. And when I said "people" I meant people like us who are into real hip hop who don't bother with mainstream shit. And I know the underground hasn't gone anywhere, I was only commenting on mainstream hip hop.

And I sort of misunderstood your point of posting those videos, I thought you were trying to prove him wrong by saying there are good videos on TV and shit. Good videos though, I only watched a few but I liked them.
