+ KRS-One - Hip Hop Lives

definitely a great year for Hip Hop, let's not forget the cultural accomplishments such as the mayor of detroit honoring the Hip Hop Appreciation week http://www.templeofhiphop.org/images/stories/detroit02.jpg
the Hip Hop Museum in the bronx is on it`s way, and the block on sedgwick avenue is now recognized by the authorities as the birthplace of hip hop like you know memphis is for elvis

just 50 must flop and other people (that deserves it) take the limelight, and it will be the best year for hiphop in the last three years or so ;)

hm, i thought all those albums were ok, but i think this year has had some actual near classics.

or at least some outstanding albums, rather than just decent similar shit.

commercial releases this year have been a lot better than last year also imo.

and lets remember, there are still 4 or so months left for albums to drop.

I never like to judge it based on the year but rather take each album as they come, this way im less likely to be dissapointed if it turns out to be a shit year overall.

Added all the rest. Yeah, I actually own that Sage Francis too.

Wisemen was good, haven't bought it/seen it though, pure download.

Haven't even heard Sean P's.

I never like to judge it based on the year but rather take each album as they come, this way im less likely to be dissapointed if it turns out to be a shit year overall.

Same man, I've just been checking releases and what not, then had a think about the good shit coming out. Was just making a list and thought of a shitload, so thought I'd make this thread. Wanna keep it up and add new albums that most consider good/great/classic, so we can look back at the end of the year and see what it was like.

Also put down Oxperiment's and Beat Konducta Live in India.. those albums are bangers.

And GHOSTDOOM (hopefully) and madvillainy 2 (i'm guessing 08' for it though)
