Most actions that take place in a capitalist society are all about the Me.
We can't get to the We without a change in our own actions. And fuck this being some armchair discussion in a forum, I'm talking about how you carry yourself out in the real world.

When you think about it, if you're only looking out for yourself then it guarentees that no one else is gonna be looking out for you. Respect and empathy should be the norm. There's no sense it waiting for the rich fucks who could change shit but don't, we're gonna have to take the responsibility of making the world a better place upon our own shoulders. You may not be in a position to make a big splash in the pond but we can all start takin some baby steps.

It's human nature to take care of ones self, and not just yourself but anyone within your circle meaning family and possibly close friends. We should be about looking out for others, but it tends to be a common cause that while you're out there trying to watch others backs, those same people not only don't appreciate what you're doing but even try to exploit that fact hence you end up looking like a nieve sucker.

True but those individuals are not looking at the long term

ya visions the problems involved with instigating collective action for the public good have been with human societies forever. sorry, there is no solution to this problem. the only person's actions whom you have control over is your own and unless you're in one of the very few postions of power that exist in the world then there's little chance of your actions inspiring enough other people to make a difference. cynical, yes, but true.

also this problem isn't confined to just capitalist societies. the greed that permeates capitalism becomes corruption in a socialist/communist one.

Matthew 7:6

6"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.

even those of us who claim to have knowledge of self will not join together to get themselves out of this situation that white america put us in
