im tryin to get more into jazz
the harder sounding stuff and less saxophone the better

also like some softer sounding winter/christmas like stuff *not christmas music but it sounds like winter or christmas*

i havent been really keeping my vinyl collection in order and havent listened to a record the whole way thru in a while

i know i said i dont like the sax too much but this one was too raw^^^ i heard it before the movie and knew the movie had to be raw

I don't know...a lot of jazz doesn't have any vocals.

I guess the harder sounding stuff is the electronic era in the 70s when more jazz musicians started using electronic instruments with a fusion of funks and soul....or you could be speaking of the 50s bop but that has sax.

For the softer Christmas stuff I think is mostly the blues jazz from the 60s....but a little more contemporary...I forgot what they called that actual sub genre thats Christmas sounding.

When I was trying to distinguish different jazz sounds I listened to the local jazz radio...they always say the artist/album/year after the track is done...then if I remember I would look it up.

some kind of blue by miles davis is my favourite.
also check out the harmony rockets - paralysed mind of the archangel void. 45mins of quality. it could be called acid jazz though. theres a stream of it on the mercury rev website in the vibrations section
