Saturday, November 3rd, thousands are expected to descend on Charleston, West Virginia, in defense of Megan Williams, the victim of one of the worst racist and sexual attacks on the Black women in America to be documented in years.
The event, entitled a National March And Town Hall Meeting Against Hate Crimes, will also focus on the rash of anti-Afrikan hate crimes that have stalked Black people throughout the country recently. This includes several noose-hanging incidents in New York and New Jersey, including one by police officers in Long Island attempting to harass, intimidate and threaten a Black police sergeant, and of course in Jena, Louisiana. It includes a police officer beating and spraying mace on a 15 year old Black girl in Florida. It includes the criminal exoneration of corrections officers in a boot camp beating death of a Black teen. Both incidents took place in Florida and both were captured on videotape.
The meeting is being spearheaded by Black Lawyers for Social Justice. It has already received endorsements and support from over 100 Black organizations from around the country, including the New Black Panther Party and organizations such as CEMOTAP and the Peoples Organization for Progress, from this area.
There will be a march beginning at the West Virginia State Capitol Building at 12 noon. The Town Hall and Fundraiser will be the Reehoboth Cathedral of Christ, 915 Main Street in Charleston afterwards at 5p.m. For more information, call 202-397-4577.
Williams, 21, a developmentally disabled, young Black woman, was abducted by six racists several weeks ago and tortured in the worst way while being held kidnapped for over a week. She raped, sodomized, stabbed, starved and forced to eat feces and urine to her "what we do to niggers around here."

"She was raped repeatedly, forced to eat feces and urine, beaten and stabbed. This is the worst documented racist atrocity against a Black woman since Tawana Brawley in New York in the 80s. May she get more support and justice than Tawana did," exclaimed an angry Zayid Muhammad, the Party's national minister of culture…

Monday, November 5th, the New Black Panther Party will host a teach-in on exiled freedom fighter Assata Shakur and racial profiling to observe the 38th anniversary of Black Solidarity Day. Zayid Muhammad, the Party's national minister of culture, will do a teach-in on Shakur, who was liberated from a New Jersey prison on Black Solidarity Day in 1979. He will be joined by Lawrence Hamm, chairman of the Peoples Organization for Progress. Hamm will do a talk on the State of Racial Profiling in New Jersey.

On Thursday, November 22nd, the Party's National Ministry of Culture will host its annual Gye Nyame ceremony and feast. Gye Nyame is the immortal Khallid Abdul Muhammad's New Afrikan alternative to Thanksgiving. Zayid Muhammad, the Party's minister of culture, has done Gye Nyame ceremony demonstrations throughout the eastern region since 2001. This year marks the first year that it will actually be observed on its prescribed. Khallid Abdul Muhammad designated that Gye Nyame be observed on every fourth Thursday in November. This year's observation will be held at Waset. Doors will open at 12 noon and the ceremony will commence promptly at 2p.m.

Muhammad will also do a Gye Nyame ceremony in Queens for the Heritage Ministry at the Afrikan Poetry Theatre, 176-03 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica Queens on Sunday, November 18th. This marks the second year that Muhammad has been received by the Heritage Ministry for Gye Nyame. Last year, he was joined by elder Jack Felder, who has thoroughly documented how European holidays have and continue to be destructive to the Afrikan psyche. The Theatre can be reached at 718-523-3312.
