dude wasn't even a president, it was a military dictator, just to show you the balls he had.

he took a coffin to his mansion and was trying to get him to sign it in person, police beat the shit out of him off course, but the next day he was shitting on him on stage.

this was a time where nigerians would get shot for saying anything bad let alone being that raw.

lagos is cool as fuck, but i hate being there. It's after i leave that i appreciate how much of an adventure that place can be.

I'm from Imo state, Umokwe, it's a village. I like the Village a lot more then the city.

shinobi4227
11-12-2007, 02:34 PM
^Yea, Lagos is mad cool and is kinda similar to New York. I lived in Lagos for 13 years and believe me, I've been thru mad shit, if you from the streets, there's a saying: you have to soji, which means: you got to wake up or wisen up.

^^i feel that, A lot of my uncles do business in Alaba, my families really well know there.

I went there to kick it for a day and it seem like evverryone knew my name.

What's wierd is i only saw Igbo people. there were a few times i'd see Yoruba and Hausa(pretty noticeable when you do), but for the most part every resturant, taxi, shop, hotel, was Igbo ppl, and i was kinda dissappointed cause i wanted to see others.

must have been the part of Lagos i was in or something.

shinobi4227
11-12-2007, 02:48 PM
^ Yea, Alaba is mostly filled with Igbo people, as a matter of fact, they own the place and boi, do they know how to fuck people over lol Don't go buyin nuthin there if you don't know how things work there; they would screw you ova. oh yea, i also heard a rumor that Ghost and the Rza came to Benin to get some herbs, on a low, did you kno anythin bout this?

TSA

Igbo ppl will scam the hot hell out of you lol

You can't even play a game of checkers with a little kid without having someone watch him, and even when they're watching him he's getting ya.

I know everythings fake there, my uncles show me where the real shit is at though and what to watch out for. I saw a "playstation 4" and a "Funstation 3" there lol.

Yea, that waz some fucked up shit they did, i guess that was one of the reasons Fela hated the Governments guts. His son Femi is aiight, got some good songs too, but he can never be like his father. He did a song called: She'we'rae( i don't kno if i spelled it right, cuz its a native language), which means act crazy; anywhere this song was played, you see assholes doing all kinds of crazy shit for no good reason lol.

Can't really remember how old he was, but the man died of AIDS due to the fact he had so many wifes i guess. I still remember watching him on T.V during his last days; he wasn't really depressed like most people were, when they find out that they got AIDS. Fela would just sit in his chair, putting on only panties and smoking weed all day long lol; it was like a reality show.

58 isn't that young, it's just that he still had mad potentials and a lot of people loved him. There were times people argued bout Fela becoming the president of Nigeria lol, it seemed like a fantasy for a person of his status, but if Fela was a politician, he would have won every election by a land slide; that's how popular Fela was in Nigeria.

TSA
11-12-2007, 04:27 PM
he ran didn't he lol, that's where to concept for "black president" came from
his first band split cause he was using the music money for politics, and the military end up having another junta so all elections were null and void.

or so i've heard.

outside of language i would say there is none

the songs i've heard from Ghana seem to be more celebratory sounding while the nigerian ones more laid back sippin palm wine shit, but i know artists from both use both on each tape so that's just based off what i've heard.

Nigerian highlife to me is better cause there's more variety in artists and a greater volume of work to choose from but that's cause nigeria's got 200,000,000ppl and ghana's at 10,000,000(not accurate #'s but yeah)
