So...in anyones opinion...having Marcus Garvey be a dark skinned brother..him preaching about mullato brothers as the enemy. What was that about? Why do dark skin black people hate on mixed so much? With so many Jamaican absentee fathers of mixed children around the world - it makes me wonder....
Divided and conquered in so many fucking ways - it makes me sick to my stomach. Another thing - is in todays day and age - we don't face those problems. Why stay stuck in the past and not live in the now and just progress. I think a lot of people blame shit to hide their own inadequacies.
It's easy to blame shit...harder to man up and do whats right. A truly evolved person and community will not sit there and preach blame.

very good thread
much respect to Marcus Garvey
jah bless y'all
nothing for respect for the dude, i studied the shit out of him.
though i feel a lot of his solutions were all inclusive (trying to get 100% of black ppl to be a curtain way), he sparked modern panafrican thought, which though needed and ground breaking, suffers from the same all inclusiveness

Earlier today I had a discussion with one of my brothers talking about how things are focused on the past (or revolve around the past) and how progress is barely broadcasted.
And just a few minutes as I am reading over this thread, I see your post
diggy

Mulatos have a unique position, being half black, half white. One observation I have made upon some mulatos I have come across, is that they want nothing to do with the black race. Some of them even hate themselves, are shapeshifters lying about their ethnicity to adapt and fit in to other groups they want to be apart of, and that is the problem.
Some mulatos like Halle Berry spoke about feeling ugly cuz she was mixed. Tiger Woods had a problem embracing what he is
This is not to say all of them are like that, but I know a few I grew up with who are like that.
mulattoo is an idiots term
diggy

How is the word mulatto racist?
From my knowledge it's a spanish term meaning of spanish and african mix - presumably from the slave trade era.
mu·lat·to (mhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/oobreve.gif-lhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/abreve.gifthttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/prime.gifhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/omacr.gif, -lähttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/prime.gifthttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/omacr.gif, myhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/oobreve.gif-)n. pl. mu·lat·tos or mu·lat·toes 1. A person having one white and one Black parent. See Usage Note at octoroon (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/octoroon).
2. A person of mixed white and Black ancestry.
I read more and it can mean mule too or other derogatory terms. I'm not sensitive to what I'm called or call myself. I don't have a master. But if it makes you feel better we'll call it bi-racial, but I'm more like hex-racial.
^ its a horse made by crossing a horse and a donkey
and since it's a european word, im guess the blacks are the donkeys
same root word as mule
getting caught up on words is gay, but this is one i just don't like cause it's trying to hide it's racism unlike nigger which is straight up and less pussy
