Yes, it's that time again! Nvidia just dropped the 780i motherboard on us and the thing is blazin from what I've seen :)

Sexy like a muhfucka too :picture:

New things this board can do include:

3-Way SLI
http://www.guru3d.com/admin/imageview.php?image=11575
Possible on the 680i as well, but not as fast of course.

Support for PCI-Express 2.0

ESA system monitor to control all of your system peferals with one program.

Support for the new 45nm Core 2 line of CPUs. Not possible on any other board on the market right now.

This is just the beginning, the 790i boards will be out in January, followed by the GeForce 9800s. If you plannin on putting together a kick-ass system, save your money up *D

Here's the review for the 780i (http://www.guru3d.com/article/mainboard/482/1/)

Damn, I almost forgot about this thread for a sec :)

It's all good though. I saw a while ago that XFX was offering a deal to anyone who had one of their 680i boards to upgrade to the 780i for $90. Mine's a BFG though, maybe they'll offer the same deal once they drop theirs. Here's hoping :)

Bullshit.

ain't sayin you wrong Jasper, but if there is I haven't seen it yet

Almost any socket 775 board supports the new 45nm intel procs. The ones that don't will get a bios upgrade. But then again, I might be wrong cause I'm fucking stupid.

Na, with the 45nm die they had to do a mandatory curcuit change. This time it's on a hardware level. Otherwise the smallest you can go is 65nm on current mobo's.
