View Full Version : Stylemaster Singing WTF?!?!?!

i'm gonna post some shit thats gonna trip you out. like i said i was listening to almost NO rap for like over a year.... well of course the input affects the output right? so i started experimenting with this sound that was building up in me.

in the words of ms Badu..."now be nice i'm an artist and i'm sensitive about my shit" naw idc, i laugh to myself "G wtf are u doin man lol?" but i have gotten positve feedback. the very least, commended on bravery. lol

i make my own beats when it comes to these "unconventionals" fruity loops baby.

but 1st let me lead you down the rabbit hole with a lil diddy i call Kenisis, which is the headlining track of my upcoming cross-genre album called thru the looking glass.

kenesis- is defined
kinesis /ki·ne·sis/ (ki-ne´sis) [Gr.]
1. movement.
2. stimulus-induced motion responsive only to the intensity of the stimulus, not the direction.

this is a trip thru sapce time on an acid dipped mushroom. dedicated to the special generation of kids who were born in the 70's.

now only a couple of these songs will be on my album. these are experiments in sound and direction.

Beatin it Up- my homage to Prince "insatiable" style . this song came to me while in the midst of sk1nz. lol literally started singin it. this song is the #1 requested DL off my myspace page tho.

Beatin it Up

Sugarwalls- you know at a party or club when it's like an hour or so b4 shutdown. you freak dancin with a chick. yall are sweaty, drunk, lost in a shared rhythm. this is a snapshot of that moment.

Revolutionary Lover- revolutionaries need love to. this is one of those hip hopneo soul Slum Village type joints. i am looking for a female to throw a last verse and a back and forth on it. so if that special lady is out there you know where to find me.

Revolutionary Lover

Nobody's Home- i made this song around 2004 when it seemed like the whole country was stuck on stupid. still is but you know what i mean. short and sweet with a very erie beat like we are cruising straight towards a cliff.

Nobodys home

Later- some 1983 flashdance do the carlton banks type new wave shit. its only got a hook. but i csn't seem to get the vibe right. it'd be awesome if i could get one of u europeans to lay some accent on it. flock of seagulls style.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles- here's a sneek peek at one of youtubes future hits. once i finish it and throw the cartoon on it......12million views baby.
remember i said i got mad voices......
this one will have 7-10 depending if i can make a distinction in all the turtles plus spinter krang shredder and the turtles. coming this spring.....

munky luv- this was my 1st venture into making a ?drum/bass? cut. but its basically about that feeling you get when you want her so bad you'll "be your Toby, crack that whip on me" i laugh everytime i hear it.

this was the 1st unconventional i ever recorded. its story about a girl who runs away and becomes a whore. i sampled the intro from "knights in white satin"

Please-Thrash Metal love song experiment about breaking up. peace to Devilzhard for the awesome live track.

Pain- i wrote and sung this song drunk as a skunk. some nice shit to swallow a bottle of pills and wash em down with a 1/5 to.

feedback good bad ugly its all fine with me. any mcs producers singers or musicians out there want to experiment. just say the word.

Here's some honest feedback: I like the vibe you are going for, although it isn't exactly my proverbial "cup of tea". If I had to classify it I would say it is reminiscent of Andre 3000 on The Love Below. I think the highlights were Beat It Up, Revolutionary Lover, and Sugar Walls. Lyrics were good and your voice isn't half bad. The rock track didn't work for me, but that's just me. Of the other songs I think some of them are a little repetitive and bland. Easy is a perfect example of this. Some of the lyrics are really quite deep and the story is good but there was no variance in your voice or the beat throughout the track. Pain was kind of the same. I think you did this deliberately (definitely your voice) but for me it sounded like you were striving a little too hard to get an experimental vibe. Overall I think the tracks are good. Keep doing your thing man.

02-28-2008, 06:32 AM
yeah rob actually the ones you named as being bland were the 1st ones out the gate. they're kinda old too. its hard for me to listen to pain for that reason. rev luv.
sugarwalls and beatin are rather new, 6months. so you can see the evolution of the style.

thx for the feed. they just been sittin in my hardrive collecting eDust. so i'm lettin em get some air.

02-28-2008, 06:49 AM
but just for those who think i went soft....

this is all about marvel heroes.

02-28-2008, 06:53 AM
i tried to think of something constructive, i cant, lets just say - stick to rapping. *nods*

02-28-2008, 07:38 AM
this stuff is all you?

nice man.

02-28-2008, 09:23 AM

wasnt expectin this!

is like a porno sound track!

but nah is straight is thats whut u was into, is cool to experiment i guess!

the way things are going with hip hop being so sucky now a days im gonna be rockin that type of music too!

02-28-2008, 09:23 AM

i wouldnt use more than 1 or 2 of these(def not pain either) on an album, but it is a nice change of pace for a rap album and its not like u have a bad singing voice
(lol at take the train)

and u use fruity loops, where u DL that at?

02-28-2008, 01:34 PM
eyo i like that shit...

02-28-2008, 01:40 PM
dl fruity from limewire or their site has a demo.

yeah i do songs mostly bout fuckin. lol its my personal inspiration.

for every song i sing i got like 20 rapping, but i'll say this, if i could sing for real....i would be one of them mf serenadin hoes, i'd prolly speak in song. u'd be like "u know that dude stylemaster?" "you mean that singin ass nigga?"

02-28-2008, 01:42 PM
