I guess the news would rather give you a range than be outright wrong.

Seen recently while reading an reuters report on yahoo.com............

Five years after U.S. and British forces swept into Iraq and toppled Saddam Hussein, many Iraqis are asking if the violence and upheaval that turned their lives upside down was worth it.

The human cost is staggering -- anywhere between 90,000 and 1 million Iraqi civilians killed, according to various estimates; nearly 4,000 U.S. soldiers dead; while 4 million Iraqis are displaced.

What kind of shit is that? Can I use this kind of math in my own daily life?

*Fills out a credit card application, "Yearly income?, ehhh----'somewhere between $300 and $800,000 a year' depends on the denomiations n' shit. I'm a rich man in Zimbabwe'

"Really, how often do you travel to Zimbabwe?"

"Never......................but you know, if I did, I could get a bed in a hotel with no lice and everything.Ballin muthafucka!!"

"Can, I get the five hundred dollars or what?"

you don't think it'd be too hard to find, I guess unless the bombs are straight dustin muthafuckas, maybe it's in the defintion of civilian, idk still that's a crazy ass disparity, the difference between a large town and a good sized city. what's the population of perth?

2 million odd.

i mean it would be hard for media outlets (those wanting to broadcast this info) to get a hold of this information.

also the attribution of deaths to the conflict directly is obvious something which is hard to do, because its not like there is a military enemy, so i guess all causalities are possibly civilian.

lets just say a shit load of people have died as a direct result of the war, and leave it at that.

i mean, look at these two pages for example/

there is a lot of conjecture:

word^that's undeniable, still I wonder what the guy who says 90,000 is doin different from the guy who says 1 million

(Imagine if everyone in Perth was standing outside, then imagine half of 'em all falling over dead vs everyone standing and then 1 outta every 22 fall dead, as far as casualties go, HUGE fuckin difference that you can visualize)

the thing is its a battle of ideas fought with bullets. we are fighting against citizens at this point. claiming that we are liberting them when the conflict creates more opposition. i guess we will just kill them all. then there will be no opposition.

yeah the numbers are disgusting.

ive heard estimates in that range before, and im assuming that someone (US military, UN etc.) has some more accurate figures, im not sure how they will be released though.

the scary thing is though, that although these numbers have began dropping (i guess that happens when a million people die) there is still no foreseeable end to it...

its like there has been virtually no change in the past 3 years.

http://www.justforeignpolicy.org/iraq/iraqdeaths.htmlthat explains quite a bit between the two links, you got one going stictly on civilian deaths while that second link really is giving you a total body count for the war period, seems like it was just bad reporting in the first one I was lookin at when I started this thread. Its taken statistics for two different things and then givin them the same name

Which is really how it should be, countries should be free to form their own destiny vs us telling them what that destiny is going to be.

Way to destabilize the region. First let Israel do whatever it wants with its weaker neighbors, then Iraq, maybe threaten Iran and Syria for fun?

Pull 'em all in to chaos and then start drilling the pipelines huh.

that is true

one is also a site which is strictly anti war and is not..

either way, i figure its going to be very hard to estimate how many deaths are directly related to the conflict.
