Do they have any other revenue streams besides advertising?

Can you make enough to quit your day job off that shit? etc, etc


I'm seriously contemplating starting a site up but I'd like to here some advise/ and or tips from anyone that's ever tried it or knows anything about the subject matter,

A more lucritive buisness would be to set up server that provides people with their own forums, and then charge a fee- and or- adveritisements for one your products (example: Cilvaringz selling records and wu Merhandise through this website) on their forums.

A more lucritive buisness would be to set up server that provides people with their own forums, and then charge a fee- and or- adveritisements for one your products (example: Cilvaringz selling records and wu Merhandise through this website) on their forums.the thing is I'm not trying to really make money off of it from jump, just trying to obtain a very large and active member base, that's a key. one you reach a certain point with it then you start attracting the attention of large corporations who want a slice of what you built, that's when the $$$$ happens, I'm cool doin what I do now up until that point, though it would be nice if there was atleast a lil' bit of residuals from maintaining the site with advertisments or whatever
