Reading around this board I'm shocked at how intelligent people are. I've learnt so much from so many posters, they teach me about myself, life, the hood and racial understanding.

We must have degree holders all around this place.

unfortunately im exceedingly lazy.

I dropped out in 10th grade... after I moved the school put me in a lower grade because the school I came from had a lower cirriculum so that pissed me off... started smokin and joined a gang. Found out the hard way I was on the wrong path.

But I got my G.E.D. and been doing better since, alot of people say I know too much to not have finished high school but shit happens, all you can do is learn from your mistakes.

good thread.

im going to do pol sci and then from there law

but im in the still decided phase, which i should have had in middle school.

so it's either pol to law, sociology to law or business admin to law

or psychology to law, i've officially decided to make up my mind by this thursday and never look back again

im also lazy, but to my luck i have these 2 week sprouts of theodore rooseveltism and get ALOT done in small amounts of time, then go back to being lazy

ah true, different system over there.

you have a sort of general degree first then a specialised course?

im doing some Political Science currently among other things.

TSA
03-24-2008, 11:51 AM
sorta, to get a law degree you need to do something first for 4 years and then go into law cause it's post graduate, im doing pol sci because im good at it and therefore my chances of getting into law school are higher

the problem is everything im really good at isn't practical, i want some fuckin engineering skills or something, but 1 have a hard time with math and detail

but im good at gay shit, like psychology, politics, speech, debate, sociology, philosophy, writing, art, history, and other things that'll only land you a job teaching 3rd graders

TSA
03-24-2008, 11:52 AM
but then again my plans for the future has little to do with formal education, so it's mainly a prestige thing

man, teaching third graders over here lands you 90 thousand a year by 2011. Add to that free accomidation if you go to rural areas and an extra 15 grand, its ridiculous. Also fly you back for each holidays, and give you 2 free trips anywhere in australia.

i dropped out my senior year of highschool as i wasn't going to be able to graduate that year anyways. my mind was never on school. i really just didn't give a fuck about it. i probably did homework like 10 times my whole highschool carreer andyet i only started loosing credits when i would skip almost every day as a senior. i was a professional test taker of sorts. id skip for a week come in for the test and just ace it. allmy classmates would be pissed because they were there allweek and stayed up studying the night before and i would get better grades on them then them. in math i didn't reallyneed a teacher. i only got up to adv algebra and geometry, but i could teach myself that stuff. most other classes were common sence or if you understood how to take a test the test would basically answer itself.
but i got my self a ged now and ill be going to a community college next year and ill see where that takes me. ive done alot of growing up since highschool

the thing i dislike about the whole system is that you are forced to make some of the most important decisions of your life when your 16 and 17.

its seems fucking ridiculous to me.

there are other pathway as oppose to school, but going that way makes things more difficult.

a lot of people dont do well at school or fail to complete it not because they arent intelligent, but because at that point in time it isnt at the top of their list of priorities.

i managed to finish, and get fairly good marks, but i hardly studied in the end leading up to my exams and basically didnt give a shit about any of it.

its only later when youve squandered chances that you look back and wish you had the maturity that you posses later in life in that situation.

id probably be doing the same thing i am now if i had tried extremely hard at school, but honestly i was just fortunate to be adept in certain areas and capable in others.

i can definitely see how easy it is to drop out.

Went to two different high schools using my first and middle name for each one so I never got my diploma. Doesn't really matter, I took jobs that required post secondary education which I didn't get.

Was in a remedial English class in grade 11, took some test where the results informed me that I had a post-secondary education in the subject. My teacher had a Doctorate in Literature, I beat her in a game of Scrabble. I'm such a nerd.

try one of them learning from home kits, they are available. You can pay to sit the exams, it's not much. Once that's all done maybe your kids will be old enough to be left at home alone, or with your new high-paying job, you could hire a nanny or something.

Dropped out of high school in my senior year, when I found out I wouldent be able to graduate( I fucked around way to much in 10th grade, so that fucked me over in 11th and 12th.)

They told me I needed one more year in high school, and I just said fuck it. Wasent worth it cause I was starting to make good paper at the time, and I had quite a few enemies in the grade below me, and no way was I going to be in class with them.

Then I just took 2 years of working and being a lazy ass.

back on task, yeah college worked out for me but when you gotta juggle full-time work and school, studying pretty much goes out the window. Probablly wouldn't have been so bad if I had more interest but I went to ITT so isn't wasn't like there was gonna be alot of options for switchin fields. I just rode it out to show future employers I have what it takes to manage both for an extended period of time. A degree opens alot of doors regardless of the field. I think alot of people just wanna see you have what it takes to put forth the time and effort.
