Ugly Duckling

Quote:
Being heavily influenced by old school hip hop, they conform to the original basics of rap music; turntablism and MCing. Their DJ, Young Einstein, forms the backbone of the group; he is renowned for performing very complex scratches both on the record and live, unlike in most modern rap where the DJ has been pushed to the back in order to emphasize the MC.

Midnight Marauders (1993)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/16/ATCQMidnightMarauders.jpg/200px-ATCQMidnightMarauders.jpg

Quote:
The album was a critical and commercial success, especially the hit single "Award Tour", though its jazz rap fusion and intellectual songwriting were subdued in comparison with the previous record, The Low End Theory, leading to some criticism. The album still contains important themes, like the use of the word nigger, but does not lose its spirituality.

Hope (2003)

Quote:
The album was something of a deliberate attempt by Sage Francis to move away from the weighty and introspective style of his previous album Personal Journals and make a record which acknowledged and paid homage to the classic hip-hop the duo listened to while growing up, including but not limited to Nine, Fu-Schnickens, Yall So Stupid and Black Sheep.

Quote:
The Weatherman LP, Ev stays in the same lane, with some notable improvements. Supported by a bevy of soulful tracks, which complement his patented slow flow, the Cali MC loosens the straps on his backpack to display the heart of a more well-rounded artist.-XXL

Dead Prez

Let's Get Free (2000)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/99/DeadPrezLet%27sGetFree.jpg/200px-DeadPrezLet%27sGetFree.jpg

Quote:
Among the rallying cries for black liberation/socialism, Dead Prez include entreaties for self-respect/love: "Be Healthy" is about eating right ('Lentil soup is/mental fruit'); "Mind Sex" is about getting to know your lover and appreciate a person's mind as well as their body ('maybe later we could play a game of/chess on the futon'); "Discipline" is a how-to for achieving one's goals; and "Happiness" is about warm weather as a tool for the liberation struggle. Dead Prez also disclose their atheism in the track "Propaganda" ('I believe man created God out of ignorance and fear').

Common

Resurrection (1994)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/27/Common_-_Resurrection.jpg/200px-Common_-_Resurrection.jpg

Quote:
Released in 1994 (see 1994 in music), Resurrection received a great deal of critical acclaim, but not a significant amount of mainstream attention. In particular, the song "I Used to Love H.E.R.," is a clever explanation of the history of hip-hop. Resurrection is entirely produced by No I.D. (who also produced the bulk of Can I Borrow A Dollar?), and Ynot. In 1998, the album was selected as one of The Source Magazine's 100 Best Rap Albums

They don't show up for me, and I'm not sure if you forgot to actually put them in these file posts. I was wondering if you could put them in, or if you could just tell me one in particular: the un-archiving code for Let's Get Free? Thanks.

Haha, I wonder how long before you get banned for this. Pretty pointless anyway seeing as how they're all off rapidshare and can already be found using either of these sites:

www.albumhunt.com (http://www.albumhunt.com) or www.megadownload.net (http://www.megadownload.net)

Dunno what Shizzah is talking about though. I get 400kbps speed off rapidshare and so on, which is as fast as the fastest I ever get off bittorrent. You don't upload at the same time as downloading either, so anyone with a limited bandwidth saves on their monthly allocation.

I also think it's pretty harsh the albums you've chosen to share given that most of them are indie records from artists that aint really got any money like Insight (Y Society).

Im talking about the situation from my position.

I download 120kbs from browser download,so do I from torrent. The only difference is not getting banned for posting the link...

And its easier to find stuff on torrent sites.

I dunno, have you ever used albumhunt or megadownload? and you can't get banned for downloading, just posting links.
