"Only in Atheism does the spring rise higher than the source, the effect exist without the cause, life come from a stone, blood from a turnip, a silk purse from a cow's ear, a Beethoven Symphony or a Bach Fugue from a kitten walking across the keys....." -- James M. Gillis

well actually that makes more sense than an invisible man in the sky watching over me, a burning bush, a parting sea, a man in drag walking on water, a bunch of virgins in heaven if i kill my fellow americans and anything else that your book of fairy tales tells me

1. u exchange one fairy tale for another. after being stable for an infinite amount of time, a magic particle, that contains the whole universe, all of a sudden explodes and 13.73 billion years later.....you and i are here chatting on the web.

2. you make the assumption that i'm a christian or muslim and that i take the bible as fact....

or jewish? i threw some old testament shit in there too.

i'm actually not athiest. i'm agnostic. i don't know what created the universe and life. whether it was an invisible man in the sky or the big bang or anything else...they all sound equally rediculous to me.

so what does your intuition tell you about this reality's origin?
can there be an effect with no cause?
how does agnosticism shape your lifestyle?

the idea of God is an effect without cause. christians and jews are taught that God is and always was.

the great thing about agnosticism is that it doesn't shape my life really. atleast not in the way religion does. when i was a believer, religion really controlled my life. now i feel free. i just try to live a good life. since i do lean more towards the athiest side, i really doubt that there is a heaven to go to. so i try to have a good time while i am here for these 70 years or so.
