GENERAL WISE

If you haven't heard 5 albums from the South you are either a) hater or b) sleepin.
And if they suck (iyo) then list the top 5 from least sucking to 5 places from least sucking...don't come with that bullshit.
1. OutKast - ATLiens
2. Juvenile - 400 Degreez
3. OutKast - Aquemini
4. David Banner - Mississippi
5. Lil Wayne - Tha Carter
Edgar Erebus

Not in order:
Goodie Mob - Soul Food
OutKast - ATLiens
OutKast - Aquemini
Scarface - The Diary
Geto Boys - We Can't Be Stopped
Who said whole South sucks? They got plenty of excellent acts and excellent albums. They are just too much on crunk/snap tip these years.

I know alot of you americans get hung up over hip hop based on regions but from my point of view it doesn't really matter to me were it's from, dope hip hop is dope hip hop. I can't hate on a piece of music based on where it originates from, im a fan of hip hop, region/country doesn't even come into it.

yeah, but i have to know the context of the album or it's place in hip hop inorder to fully get into it, otherwise it's just a cd of good songs i'll probably forget, so it's good to know where they're from
i hear a lot of dope rappers, but when i ask the fag playing it "where's this guy from" and they say "i don't know" i forget the song the next morning
the worst is when they don't know the name or the person and/or song

Kliion Jensen, you a Poison Clan fan i see. I like Poison Clan too. I got some of their albums. JT Money's solo albums suck except for his first one Pimpin On Wax.
Geto Boys-We Can't Be Stopped, Till Death Do Us Part, The Resurrection
Scarface-Mr Scarface Is Back, The World Is Yours
Ludacris-Back For The First Time
8Ball and MJG-Comin Up Hard, On The Outside Looking In, In Our Lifetime
8Ball-Lost, Almost Famous
Willie D-Controversy
Three 6 Mafia-When The Smoke Clears, Choices soundtrack, Da Unbreakables
Project Pat-Mista Don't Play
It was hard for me to name only 5 albums. 8Ball and MJG's You Don't Want Drama song from their Livin Legends album is the shit. I love that beat. I haven't heard any of 2 Live Crew's albums but i'm gonna have to peep them. Luke and JT Money's Cowards In Compton song dissing Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg makes me laugh everytime i hear it. Only Luke albums i've heard is In The Nude and Uncle Luke. I'm gonna check out his other solo albums. Trick Daddy is a decent rapper. His albums could've been better if most of his beats were good. I like his I'm A Thug, Nann Nigga with Trina, Shut Up, Thug Money songs.

i would'nt say "fan" really, i just really dig that album, aint heard it for a while cos i got it on a tape and i aint had a tape player for like the past 10 years-ish....
but looking through this thread, all the shit that gets said about the southern hip hop on here seems to be a bit bullshit, cos i'm looking over titles and theres some really really dope music, its just a shame cunts like Chingy & Souljah Boy spoil it....

Aquemini & Grip It! On That Other Level (by Geto Boys) could both easily have been on my list. I just had to cut two from the seven I initially thought of.

Honestly, it's mostly lack of exposure to those who hate on ALL southern hip-hop. There are tons of really well-made albums to come out of the hip-hop community in the south. Something is really lacking in your hip-hop appreciation if you don't enjoy albums like Riding Dirty, Z-ro vs The World, The Dude, ATLiens, Soul Food, Trap Muzik, etc.

These are my favorite southern albums. After I come home from the gym, I like to stand in front of the mirror with know shirt on and put on these albums and start snapping my fingers and shaking my body and flex my muscles. I mean these albums are just so crazy. Bone Crusher sounds just like nas and is lyrical gifted. Fuck Rae and Ghost, the Yin Yang Twins are the best duo in hi-hop history. Pitbull is like a modern day Big Pun and what can I say about D4l and Dem francise boys. If you combine them you got a group more powerful that wu-tang. I recommend getting these albums if you are a true hip-hop listener. Fuck all that commercial bull shit.

Don't really get what you mean seeing as how RZA reps NYC.
Without getting real technical, it comes down to that. Chino XL is from New Jersey, but he reps Cali. So he is a West coast artist.
