I can't believe that noone's mentioned this. This was what DEFINED The Wu and the whole Gambino-rap movement.

"My seeds, grow with his seeds, marry his seeds, that's how we keep Wu-Tang money all up in the family"-Ghostface Killah (Glaciers Of Ice)

To me, that is the rawest line from Ghost on OB4CL

all that mafia shit is so fucking corny it's not even funny.

it's a gimmick, none of these niggas are in the damn mafia, so why make believe once you start getting paid to make songs.

gay.

The Wu-Gambinos i'll accept, they did it first and there's a real story behind it, but if i hear one more NY nigga talking about some big breasted italian jewman i'm gonna throw the cd out the window.

Yo, TSA... get the fuck out with that "realness" bullshit, that's what is killing hiphop.

That's called "limiting creativity for the purpose of realness". Something.

And talking 'bout corniness - you ever look at threads you start?

yeah, and without him there is no Def Jam....no doubt, good example, he wasn't a ladies man at all, he wasn't strong, he didn't spit hot fire, you're right....he's totally not the guy he made himself out to be....a fire spitting ladies man. good point....if your mom didn't wanna fuck him at one point, your sister did, or maybe your aunt did, or your grandmama.....at least one bitch in your family thought about fucking LL at some point.....but you're right, he's not a ladies man who can rhyme at all

you misunderstood me, there's a difference between pretending and being creative

cuban linx, creative. there was a real concept based on the fact that wu had still not been paid for 36 chambers, tical and dirty's album yet, so they were still in the streets

the took their real life situation and expressed it creatively

just like when big l goes "i get more pussy on accident, then most nigga get on purpose" Im not gonna call him fake for that, although it's not 'true'. The reason is because he too a real life situation (get a lot of pussy) and expressed it in a creative way. That's hip hop at it's core.

circa, 1998. EVERY-FUCKING-RAPPER in NY has an italian name. That's not creative, it's gay. They saw rae and ghost tell THEIR story in a unique way because it was a unique story, and they started copying it on a shallow face value way.

Biggie has nothing to do with his persona, he was sheltered, and a mommas boy, why he didn't have a confidence to come out and say it is, being his condition and all, is beyond me.

Nas wasn't no fuckin don, but was pull hits on everybody on his songs for like, 4 years.

and so forth. It got corny, make believe italians. why would i wanna listen to make believe italians when the real ones are gay enough

name me one rapper before 91 who faked on record

you serious?

faked about what?

rappers back then...your Run's, your Rakim's, your Chuck D's, weren't saying anything "fake". they also weren't boasting about being drug lords and pimps.

what they rapped about was real life shit told through their perspective.

rappers now talk about what they want, they rap about desires and indulgences instead of ideas and concepts

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh...

Yeah, aight. But you gots to know that the same 1998 was the era when CNN came, DMX and all them new-school rappers that are still in today, and that didn't came out with Mafia shit 'cause they knew it got so washed-up.

But you can't front on those that first started with Cosa Nostra shit and/or were best at it and/or brought new elements to mafioso gimmick.

I'ma say, just for example, Jay-Z, who in "Reasonable Doubt" made a way more personalized image than anyone before, you know; Rae and Ghost and AZ and Nas before were making that "stackin' money, no feelings" aura while Jigga was that kind of light-hearted mafioso boy who made it, but is still ripped between hedonism and streets that's watching. Plus he told it in a way others didn't at the time, flow sounding like he was talking to you.

and so forth. It got corny, make believe italians. why would i wanna listen to make believe italians when the real ones are gay enough

Hm... not on topic, but you ever been to Italy?
