Araña was created by writer Fiona Avery and artist Mark Brooks and is based on ideas J. Michael Straczynski used in his run on The Amazing Spider-Man. She was the star of the resurrected Amazing Fantasy comic book in 2004.

After her storyline ended in Amazing Fantasy vol. 2 #6, she appeared in her own title, Araña: The Heart of the Spider, starting in January 2005 as part of Marvel Next. This series ran for twelve issues.

Anya appears in the Ms. Marvel title as a recruit for service as a licensed superhero under the Superhuman Registration Act.

After the vicious murder of her adoptive parents, Carmilla discovered her biological mother, Monica Rappaccini, is the Scientist Supreme of the worldwide terrorist network A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics). Carmilla is now trying to find her real mother under the auspices of S.H.I.E.L.D., who are attempting to use her to infiltrate AIM. She appears in Incredible Hulk #87, a one-shot story that takes place immediately after House of M. Peter David, who wrote her appearances in Hulk, made suggestions that Bruce Banner may be her biological father.[1]

Heart of the Spider

On her first day at Milton Summers High School in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, Anya Corazon is recruited by a mystical clan called the Spider Society to act as their agent, a Hunter. A ritual is performed on her by giving her a spider-shaped tattoo that endows her with spider-like powers. Anya lies to her father, Gil Corazon (a reporter for the New York Herald and writer of several major stories), about what has happened; she tries to convince him that she has an ordinary internship at WebCorps. Gil interrogates Miguel concerning what sort of work he has lined up for Anya.

WebCorps offers Araña various costumes, including suits resembling those of Supergirl, the Invisible Woman, Magneto, Spider-Man, The Bride from Kill Bill, Sailor Moon, Wonder Woman, and a giant rabbit costume (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Anya Jenkins). Anya, not satisfied, decides to make her own costume. She designes a costume with red and blue sneakers, blue track pants, red backpack, red gloves with many pockets, and big goggle-eyed sunglasses. A crusty exoskeleton covers most of her body with a bug-like bluish skin. In place of equipment like web-shooters or spider tracers, Araña attaches cords to discs that are about the size of her palm and have eight red legs able to remotely grip objects.

The Sisterhood of the Wasp, adversaries of the Spider Society, also have a Hunter, who fights Araña in the first issue

The Marvel Zombies concept first appeared in Ultimate Fantastic Four #21-23 (2005) by writer Mark Millar and artist Greg Land. The premise is that almost all superpowered beings on Earth have become flesh-eating zombies after being infected by an alien virus. Although encountered by a character from the Ultimate universe, the zombies originated in the alternate universe of (Earth-2149). [1] The zombies later appeared in Ultimate Fantastic Four #30–32 (2006).

In December of the same year Marvel published a five-part limited series titled Marvel Zombies, written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Sean Phillips, with painted covers by Arthur Suydam.

In 2006, the October issue of Wizard magazine featured a one-page Marvel Zombies comic by artist Sean Phillips called "Eat the Neighbors." It parodied Hostess Fruit Pie advertisements featured in Marvel titles in the 1970s which showcased Marvel superheroes defeating villains by offering them snacks. In this instance, Spider-Man, Colonel America (this world's version of Captain America) and Iron Man serve two children as "Hostess Meat Pies" after the children mistake them for legitimate superheroes.

In 2007 an intercompany crossover between Marvel and Dynamite Entertainment provided information as to the source of the zombie infection in the five-part limited series titled Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness (Marvel) and Army of Darkness (Dynamite). A one-shot titled "Marvel Zombies: Dead Days" (May) continues the story. The zombies also appear in a four-part storyline in Black Panther vol. 3, #27–30, and encounter the Earth-616 Fantastic Four.

In the same year a humorous one-shot comic book featuring the alternate universe animal hero Spider-Ham and titled Ultimate Civil War Spider-Ham Crisis was published. Spider-Ham accidentally crosses over into Earth-2149 and becomes, as J. Michael Straczynski puts it, "Undead Ham".[2]

Time magazine's Lev Grossman names Marvel Zombies as one of the Top 10 Graphic Novels of 2007.[3]

Wildsiderz is a comic book (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comic_book) series created by J. Scott Campbell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Scott_Campbell) and Andy Hartnell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Hartnell), and published by Wildstorm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wildstorm) Productions. It is the second series created by Campbell and Hartnell after their successful Danger Girl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danger_Girl). It features a group of teenagers who, through newly developed holographic technology, can take on the powers of animals to fight a mad scientist.
It was originally planned as a five-issue limited series (six, if issue #0 is included). Issue #2 was the last issue, released in November 2005. Issue #3 was originally set for release on April 19, 2006, but has been delayed. Neither Wildstorm nor Campbell have given any official comment for the delay. No word was ever given if it was canceled or delayed. DC/Wildstorm no longer promotes it, as part of their website.

Gen¹³ is a fictional superhero team and comic book series originally written by Jim Lee and Brandon Choi and illustrated by J. Scott Campbell. It was published by Image Comics under the banner Wildstorm, which went on to become an imprint for DC Comics, who kept publishing the Gen¹³ title.

The comic features a loosely-organized team of super-powered beings composed of five teens (three girls and two boys) and their mentor.The series takes place in Jim Lee's Wildstorm Universe, and Gen¹³'s stories and history intertwine with those from his own works, such as Wildcats and Team 7 (in fact, each of the main characters in Gen¹³ was the child of a Team 7 member). The title featured flashy graphics and was noticeably more risque than other titles of the time, such as X-Men, so it quickly grabbed the attention of a loyal audience.

The teens were originally invited to take part in a government project, but when they learned that the project was actually a prison-like testing ground on "Gen-Active" teens, they made their escape, but not before they "manifested" superhuman powers, and they were labelled dangerous fugitives. Their only hope was to rely on each other to fight their foes and unveil the personal secrets that linked them to Team 7 and International Operations.

After a very successful run, co-creator and illustrator J. Scott Campbell handed the reins of Gen¹³ over to other creative teams, and moved onto his own new series Danger Girl.

Following the run of Choi and Campbell were John Arcudi and Gary Frank. Their realistic style, both in writing and art, were too drastic of a change for most fans who had appreciated the title's more fantastical elements. Following their run, Scott Lobdell returned the title to its less serious, more sexual roots, but still fans did not receive the title well.

After Lobdell's run, Adam Warren was assigned to the title. He had previously proven himself writing two miniseries using Gen¹³ characters (Grunge: The Movie and Magical Drama Queen Roxy) as well as a two issue fill-in piece featuring a pop idol who threatened to take over the world with a catchy song. Warren's run was well-received by fans and critics, but sales did not support the title.

Despite outrageous story arcs and many artist collaborations, the popularity of the book dwindled to the point where Wildstorm decided to blow up the entire team with a 6 megaton bomb (#76, July 2002). This served as the catalyst to revamp the series with a new number one issue written by Chris Claremont with pencils by Ale Garza. This title featured an all new team mentored by Caitlin Fairchild, and spawned a spin-off series 21 Down. However, this title was cancelled after barely a year. The final issue of the series revealed that the original team was, in fact, still alive, and that the new series had taken place in an alternate dimension which had in some fashion crossed over with the known continuity.

During the height of its popularity, Gen¹³ spawned two spinoff books, DV8 and Gen¹³ Bootleg as well as a number of one-shots and mini-series. The team also starred in crossovers with other comic book characters such as Superman, Spider-Man, the Maxx, Monkeyman and O'Brien, two crossovers with the Marvel Comics teen hero team Generation X and a crossover with The Fantastic Four. At one point in the early years, Wildstorm and DC were planning a teamup between the team and Batman. However, due to unknown reasons, the crossover never happened, though J Scott Campbell did create artwork showing Fairchild, Grunge, Roxy, and Batman in a promotional image.

Rebooted in October 2006, the current publication of the title Gen¹³ (vol. 4) written by Gail Simone with art from Talent Caldwell, bears no continuity ties to previous volumes or series.

The series was involved in the Armageddon crossover event and then re-started again in 2008 with a new creative team, Scott Beatty and Mike Huddleston, as part of World's End.[1]

Pete Wisdom (Peter Paul Winston Wisdom) is a fictional secret agent published by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Excalibur vol.1 #86,(February 1995), and was created by Warren Ellis and Ken Lashley. Wisdom is a former British Secret Service agent with the mutant ability to throw "blades" of energy ("hot knives") from his fingertips.

In this series, most of the regular X-Men left the team over a conflict with Professor X. The three-issue series, written by Howard Mackie and illustrated by Brandon Peterson, featured an interim team consisting of Cyclops, Phoenix, Wolverine, Archangel, Cable and Nate Grey.

This team protected the Mannites (a group of super powered, genetically engineered children) from Death, a horseman of Apocalypse. Wolverine was apparently murdered by Death in the final pages of the series but it was later revealed that "Death" was actually a mind controlled Wolverine, and that the "Wolverine" who was killed was an imposter, a shapeshifting Skrull.

The story of the Twelve begins with a young mutant by the name of Tanya Trask, who would later become Madam Sanctity. Adrift in the timestream, Tanya was rescued by Rachel Summers, in her guise of Mother Askani, and took her to the future, where she healed her mind. The future, under the rule of Apocalypse, was somber and grim, and Tanya sought to change it. She traveled back in time, three years before the formation of the X-Men, despite Mother Askani's warnings not to do so, and attempted to contact her father, Bolivar Trask. Rachel followed her and stopped her from revealing herself to her father, but not before Tanya could tamper with her father's creation, Master Mold, and upload a program called "The Twelve".

Years later, as Cyclops pondered his relationship with Madelyne Pryor in Alaska, he was attacked by Master Mold, who claimed Cyclops was one of the "strong" one of the Twelve and had to be killed. Master Mold was stopped, but not before revealing several other possible members of the Twelve, such as Charles Xavier, Apocalypse, Storm, Jean Grey and Franklin Richards among others.

Master Mold survived the encounter and later faced Power Pack in an attempt to kill Franklin Richards. As the youngsters fought the demented robot, he revealed the nature of the Twelve: "The dozen mutant humans who will one day rise up and lead all of mutantkind in war against homo sapiens in the twilight of earth." He was stopped, but not before revealing several other possible candidates, including Danielle Moonstar, Cannonball and Psylocke.

The subsequent mention of the Twelve came from Apocalypse himself, claiming that not only he was one of the "fabled Twelve" but so too were all five original X-Men, Charles Xavier, Storm, Cannonball and Cable.

As the new millennium approached, a series of events led to the return of Apocalypse. Cable was witness to said events-- the darkening of New York City, the arrival of the Harbinger of Apocalypse, and several other signs. Mother Askani's astral form revealed herself to Cable, implanting the knowledge of who the Twelve were. Sadly, he never had the opportunity to find them.

In June of 2002, Marvel released a four-part limited series entitled Morlocks. In it, a small group of mutants living in the sewers of Chicago help each other to fulfill their one last wish on the surface while trying to escape the mutant-hunting Sentinels.

As a side-effect of her powers, the synapses in her brain short-out from time to time, incapacitating her for several minutes; current whereabouts and status unknown..
* Litterbug[84] - Former soldier who went AWOL upon his transformation into a giant, cockroach-like creature with massive strength, invulnerability, and a keen burrowing ability. He has difficulty speaking in this form. New member of the recent incarnation of New York Morlocks.
* Postman[84] - Leader of the Chicago Morlocks. Can telepathically erase specific memories from targets (such as an event) or complex and deeply rooted facts or knowledge (such as gender). Depowered.
* Shatter[84] - His body is composed of a hard crystalline material that can regenerate lost body parts over time, and also can crystallize liquids upon contact. Depowered
* Trader[84] - Former stock broker who has a chameleon-like ability to camouflage into his surroundings. Killed taking a bullet meant for Electric Eve[87].

X-Men Unlimited Vol. 1

The purpose of this title was to run stories that fit between the main X-Men comics. The stories included all characters (heroes and villains) from the X-titles, and was more of a collection of short stories. Like an anthology title, these stories focus less on the main continuity and more on little side things that the X-Men characters go through, like Jubilee in a mall with a crush on a boy or Wolverine going through a particularly rough healing process.

The first series ran from 1993-2003.

This title allowed lesser known writers and artists to write and draw more distinctive X-men comics, as it usually had new writers and artists for each issue. The comics were also always self-contained stories; story arcs were always one issue or shorter in length. This was particularly unique during the late 1990's when most X-Men titles frequently had story arcs that were several issues long.

The book originated as part of a revamp of the X-Men line of comics in 2001. Prior to this revamp, Claremont was writing both of the main X-Men titles (Uncanny X-Men and X-Men, the latter of which became New X-Men, and then X-Men: Legacy). He was removed from both core X-titles by Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada when his storylines fell apart due to editorial interference by the previous editor-in-chief in a failed attempt to capitalize on the first X-Men movie. Quesada offered Claremont the opportunity to write only one of the core X-titles (while allowing new X-writer Grant Morrison to have partial storyline input) or to write a third, new core X-Men title. Claremont chose the latter. That title was dubbed X-Treme X-Men.

In May 2004, prompted by Grant Morrison's departure from New X-Men, Marvel felt that another revamp of the X-Men titles was required. As part of this revamp, called X-Men ReLoad, Chris Claremont returned to writing Uncanny X-Men. X-Treme X-Men was cancelled, with most of its cast and running plotlines being transferred to Uncanny X-Men. Joss Whedon and John Cassaday's Astonishing X-Men replaced it as the third core title.The X-Treme X-Men contained Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Bishop, Sage (Tessa), Thunderbird (Neal Shaara), Psylocke and Beast as original line up. Psylocke was killed and Beast departed the title in the early goings, and new recruits Lifeguard (Heather Cameron) and Slipstream (Davis Cameron) were eventually added. Later in the series, familiar X-Men characters Cannonball, Lila Cheney, Shadowcat, Magma and Sunspot made regular appearances, with only Cannonball officially joining the team. Evangeline Whedon (a mutant possessing dragon transmorphic abilities) also made numerous appearances.

The title also introduced the character of Red Lotus, who featured heavily in the Australian arc, and was included in issues of the invasion arc.

Ultimate Adventures was a six-issue comic book, written by Ron Zimmerman and drawn by Duncan Fegredo, and published by Marvel Comics. It starred Hawk-Owl and Woody, two characters who were purposefully designed as blatant parodies of Batman and Robin. At the time of its publication, it was the only Ultimate title to introduce characters who were not explicitly based on pre-existing Marvel characters. (Ultimate Spider-Man followed suit with Geldoff and the series Ultimate X-Men has since added the characters of Syndicate and Magician.)

In this story, Matt Murdock and Elektra Natchios are both students in Columbia University, where they meet and start dating. Murdock is blind and studying law. During the course of the story, Elektra and her roommates are harassed by a rich boy, Trey Langstrom, until Elektra, a martial artist fights back. In response, Langstrom and a group of thugs destroys Elektra's father's business. Murdock, also a martial artist and possessor of enhanced senses (which compensate for his blindness), forces the thugs to confess, but couldn't stop Elektra from seriously wounding Langstrom. While Matt reveals his identity to Elektra, she forces him to choose between their love and his sense of duty. He chooses the second and they apparently part ways.

Elektra can only stand by as her father makes a deal with his cousins, Paul and Leonder, who are in organized crime, so that he can rebuild the family's laundromat. Paul and Leonder hope to launder the money earned from their criminal life, but their book keeper Kenneth Cullen has turned state's evidence. Elektra Natchios makes a bargain with her cousins, she will recover the evidence in return for her father's financial freedom. She fakes being a call girl so that she can recover the evidence, just in time to see Kenneth Cullen killed by Benjamin Poindexter (Ultimate Bullseye) who was sent by the Kingpin.

Ultimate Vision #00(prelude to Ultimate Galactus)

In the Ultimate Universe, members of the Ultimates and the Ultimate X-Men discover a damaged, sentient robot, who states that the closest English translation to its name is "Vision". The robot warns of the coming of an invader from space - Gah Lak Tus, Eater of Worlds. After being repaired, the apparently feminine Vision assists the heroes by presenting a plan to repel Gah Lak Tus. After successfully repelling the invader, the Vision leaves Earth but en route is tricked and disabled by A.I.M. The Vision later escapes and manages to stop a Gah Lak Tus module that A.I.M intended to use for their own purposes. Ant Man later creates a robot based on the Vision called Vision 2. [26]

Ultimate Nightmare

A broadcast disrupts the world's communications systems, filling televisions and computer monitors with images of death and destruction that cause thousands of people to commit suicide. The broadcast ripples across the psychic plane, and attracts the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Charles Xavier, with both tracing the source to the Tunguska wasteland in Russia, the site of a massive comet crash over a century ago. S.H.I.E.L.D. Commander Nick Fury leads a team of heroes - Captain America, Black Widow and Sam "Falcon" Wilson - on a reconnaissance mission, while Professor X sends the X-Men Jean Grey, Wolverine and Colossus to investigate. Neither team is aware of the other's involvement.

The two teams trace the signal to an abandoned complex built in the era of Communist Russia, and encounter an army of mutated humans, all engineered by a now-defunct Soviet super-soldier project designed to create versions of Captain America. After defeating the humans the two teams meet, with Fury's team capturing the X-Men and then discovering the source of the broadcast - a sentient, self-repairing robot called Vision. Vision explains that it traveled to Earth 100 years ago, and when its ship malfunctioned it crashed in Tunguska and was later captured by the Soviets, who amputated portions of its body and grafted them onto Soviet Army volunteers to create experimental super-soldiers. Vision has repaired itself enough to communicate with the world, and warns Fury of an impending threat: the Eater of Worlds, called Gah Lak Tus. The X-Men subsequently escape and Fury's team takes the Vision back to S.H.I.E.L.D for further analysis.

Ultimate Secret

A secret S.H.I.E.L.D. installation in New Mexico investigating revolutionary methods of space travel is attacked by the alien Kree. This forces resident scientist Dr. Philip Lawson to change to his true identity of Captain Mahr Vehl and battle the attackers. Although able to successfully defend the installation, Mahr Vehl is rendered unconscious and is eventually questioned by Fury. Mahr Vehl explains he is a member of the Kree himself, and that they have been observing Earth to determine if humanity poses a threat to the Kree in the larger galaxy. Observing mankind's violent nature, Mahr Vehl reveals that the Kree have recently decided to confine humanity on Earth until the entity Gah Lak Tus can destroy them, so ending the potential threat. Realizing that other Kree will be coming and that the threat the Vision foretold is now very real, Fury summons the Fantastic Four and the Ultimates.

A Kree force attacks the installation soon after, but is stopped by a combined team of heroes. Another team of heroes - with Mahr Vehl's aid - storm the Kree ship while the aliens are on Earth. The commander, Yahn Rgg, activates the self-destruct mechanism, but not before Mahr Vehl hacks into the ship's database and downloads its contents into his memory banks. With the information gained from both Vision and the Kree, Fury contemplates how to deal with the coming threat of Gah Lak Tus.

Fury enlists the aid of Reed Richards and Professor Xavier once Silver Surfer arrives to "herald" the approach of Gah Lak Tus, who is discovered to be a swarm of thousands of sentient ships stretched 100,000 miles long and within only a week's journey from Earth.

The heroes Captain America, Falcon, Iron Man and Mahr Vehl have several battles with Gah Lak Tus' heralds, and allow Reed Richards, Charles Xavier and Jean Grey time to develop a plan. Xavier and Grey make psychic contact with Gah Lak Tus, which completely repulses the entity and distracts it. Richards then uses the Ultimate Nullifier, and teleports the latent energy of a Big Bang into the heart of the Gah Lak Tus swarm. With 20% of its mass destroyed by the blast, the entity retreats. Richards then programs Vision with plans for the weapon and sends it into space, in the hopes that other races will be able to benefit and fend off Gah Lak Tus.

In this story, the X-Men receive a seemingly alien distress signal and fly away with the Blackbird to track it down. Only Wolverine, Shadowcat and Iceman stay behind. In the meanwhile, Rhona Burchill, the Mad Thinker, raids the understaffed X-Mansion and steals Cerebro, and also manages to frame the Fantastic Four for this crime.

Having stolen Cerebro, Rhona revealed that she was contracted by Advanced Idea Mechanics to steal Cerebro and turn it over to them. After being paid for her work, Rhona betrays and kills the A.I.M. operatives sent to retrieve Cerebro, since her true intention was to use Cerebro's technology to increase her intellect even further.

The X-Men trio raids the Baxter Building and fights a surprised and angry F4. Burchill then reveals herself as the true culprit and gloats how vastly Cerebro has enhanced her mind, allowing her to take control of peoples' minds and even machines. Mr. Fantastic states that Rhona's mind control abilities have increased frighteningly, and modifies the suits of both teams to provide makeshift psi protection.

The X-Men find out that the alien message was bogus, and that Rhona's psi barriers have increased drastically. The X-Men trio and the F4 reluctantly team up against the Mad Thinker. Rhona is able to find a way around Reed's modifications and take control of everyone except Mr. Fantastic and Wolverine, but Reed beats Rhona by reprogramming Cerebro so that instead of gaining ultimate knowledge, Rhona would gain ultimate empathy for others instead. When she tries to flee, Wolverine sabotages her plane, and it explodes. The X-Men and the F4 part ways amicably.

Previously, the X-Men defeated Magneto and pronounced him dead. Rather than turning Magneto over to the authorities and virtually ensuring the death penalty for him, Professor X secretly brainwashed his old friend and tried to rehabilitate him. However, the Beast inadvertently leaked this plan to Magneto's Brotherhood, believing that he was chatting with an online girlfriend. The Brotherhood use this to entrap Beast and gain enough knowledge to free their leader.

The X-Men were in a difficult enough situation as it is. Iceman had left the X-Men forced out by his worried parents after he sustains injuries in the fight against Proteus. Three X-Men, Wolverine, Cyclops and Kitty Pryde, were on a mission to the Savage Land.

The US government is irate over Magneto's reappearance and demanded explanations from Nick Fury. Fury and his Ultimates tracked down the Xavier Mansion, whose location was hitherto unknown, and found it empty. Nick Fury comes to the incorrect conclusion that the X-Men have joined forces with Magneto to fight mankind.

In preparing to battle the X-Men, Captain America reveals he knows more about Wolverine; they fought together in World War 2, when Logan went under the name James "Lucky Jim" Howlett. The X-Men's plane returns, with only Logan and Kitty on board. Wolverine claims Cyclops had died heroically. The truth, which Jean later learns, is that Wolverine had tried to kill Cyclops so as to be with Jean.

In the meanwhile, Charles Xavier meets with Magneto to negotiate a truce. The meeting was actually meant as a diversion in order to give Wolverine time to track down Magneto's location. Unbeknownst to the Professor, Magneto had anticipated Xavier's double-cross. While Wolverine tries to locate the Brotherhood, Magneto anonymously tips off the X-Men's whereabouts to the Ultimates. The Ultimates track down the X-Men and have an all-out fight.

The Ultimates nearly defeat the X-Men, but at the last moment Iceman suddenly soars in on a giant ice slide. He creates a gigantic icewall which literally crushes everything, including the devices disabling Xavier's telepathy. Free to use his powers, Xavier freezes every non-mutant mind in the area to buy time for his students. However, he is taken down by the Wasp, who is a mutant herself and thus passed over by the mind control. The X-Men flee, but Charles Xavier becomes a captive of Nick Fury.

Max Dillon, Flint Marko, Otto Octavius, multi-billionaire Norman Osborn, and Sergei Kravinoff are imprisoned in a maximum-security S.H.I.E.L.D. superhuman prison beneath the Triskelion for illegally altering their genetic code. Octavius wills his confiscated robotic tentacles to attack S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers and scientists, shuts down the prison's power, and releases the others. Nick Fury sends agents to collect Peter Parker (Spider-Man) in case Osborn tries to hurt him.

Via phone, Osborn demands $100 million, amnesty for himself and the others, and the return of his assets, or he will publicize his treatment at the hands of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury dispatches the Ultimates to prevent this, but it turns out to be a ploy: The escaped prisoners return to attack the Triskelion and abduct Spider-Man to make him their leader by blackmailing him with the life of his Aunt May. With Spider-Man, the criminals attack the White House, where they are confronted by the Ultimates. The criminals are re-captured, Spider-Man's aunt is released from S.H.I.E.L.D. security, and Osborn is kept half-transformed in cryogenic storage.

Ultimates

General Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D establishes a strike force of government-sponsored metahumans which includes Captain America; scientist couple Henry and Janet Pym (Giant-Man and the Wasp); Bruce Banner (the Hulk) and Tony Stark (Iron Man). Together they are based at the S.H.I.E.L.D facility, the Triskelion. When Banner injects himself with the super-soldier serum goes on a bloody rampage as the Hulk, he is eventually stopped by the other metahumans with the aid of Thor. The team then join forces with the mutants Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch and agents Hawkeye and Black Widow against the alien shape-shifters the Chitauri, who are defeated.

Ultimates 2

A year later public opinion has turned against the team when it is discovered that Bruce Banner is in fact the Hulk and was responsible for hundreds of deaths. The team is undermined further when Thor is accused of being an escaped mental patient and is incarcerated. This is the doing of his brother Loki, who also facilitates the creation of a new team of anti-American multi-nationals called the Liberators. With the aid of the Black Widow - who betrays the team to the Liberators - the Ultimates are captured, but eventually escape and battle the Liberators to the death. With the aid of Asgardian warriors, the Ultimates defeat both Loki and the Liberators.

The Ultimates, now disassociated from S.H.I.E.L.D, operate from Tony Stark's mansion, are dealing with the ramifications of a sex tape depicting Stark and the Black Widow that has been leaked to the media. The Wasp assumes leadership of the team when Stark succumbs to alcoholism due to the scandal. Thor begins a relationship with Valkyrie, while the Scarlet Witch is assassinated by a sniper when out on a date with her brother Quicksilver. After being advised by the mutant Wolverine that the villain Magneto has taken the Scarlet Witch's corpse to the Savage Land, some of the Ultimates begin pursuit.1-4(current)

They first appeared in the final issue (#200) of The Brave and the Bold in 1983. The team was given its first comic, Batman and the Outsiders, which debuted in August 1983, created and originally written by Mike W. Barr and illustrated by Jim Aparo, and then later illustrated by Alan Davis.

After Batman left the group in issue #32, the title was changed to Adventures of the Outsiders and lasted until #38. After that issue, the book started reprinting stories from The Outsiders (1986) until it was cancelled on issue #46.

The cast of the Outsiders was notable for having mostly new characters (Geo-Force, Katana, Halo, and Looker), two characters who refused membership in the Justice League (Black Lightning and Metamorpho) and a former Leaguer, Batman.

Five Of A Kind-Outsiders #50

In the weeks leading up to the new series debut, Batman holds tryouts to determine who will be on the team in a series of one-shots called Five of a Kind. Each issue featured a different creative team (including Outsiders creator Mike W. Barr), as well as an epilogue written by Tony Bedard. Batman angers several members who feel he has no right to remove people already on the team.

Captain Boomerang leaves the team for Waller's Suicide Squad and Nightwing decides to take no part in the Outsiders' questionable activities. Katana is chosen as the team's first official member, with the Martian Manhunter, Metamorpho, and Grace as later recruits. Thunder is kicked off the team and Aquaman is rejected as a member because Batman feels he doesn't match up to his predecessor, Orin. Batman then tells the other members that "Whether you like it or not, you're here to save the world. And you're going to be hated for it." After the team's first official mission in Outsiders #50, Catwoman overheard the other recruits' talking about the team being "down by law", and said, "Batman can't possibly start up his own crew of super-crooks without me in it!"

Wussup people. Just joined up as a person who has re-ignited their interest in the older marvel comics. I still have my unfinished Marvel-Two-In-One collection and a few others. I have a few .cbr comics too, so I can post up a list sometime. Maybe everyones already got the, maybe not, but i'll do it anyway.

Apart from being a mainstay character in the first series of X-Force, Domino has had two limited self-titled series, one of which had her teaming with Puck against Lady Deathstrike. The second revealed her childhood.

Domino did not properly appear in Marvel Comics until after several false starts. A Domino imposter, a mutant shapeshifter named Copycat, first appeared in New Mutants #98 (Feb. 1991), although the real Domino did not appear in that issue. Domino made a brief appearance in a flashback in X-Force volume 1 #8, and made her first actual present-day appearance on the last page of issue #11. She also appeared in a number of issues of Cable & Deadpool.

I believe Batman 681 is the last part which comes out in another couple of weeks...but as always i'm sure there'll be an epilogue exploring the ramifications of bruce getting injecting with metamphetines and running around in a red and purple suit hallucinating an imp with an alien on its back talking to him.

"Batman R.I.P." is a comic book story arc involving the character Batman written by Grant Morrison, penciled by Tony Daniel,[1] Sandu Florea, and with covers by Alex Ross. It has a number of tie-ins in other DC Comics titles that are not to be confused with the main story running in Batman.

At an unknown location, a group of international supervillains gather at the behest of the Black Glove, represented by Dr. Simon Hurt, the man responsible for the isolation chamber experiment that nearly ended Batman's career and for the creation of the three replacement Batmen. They are planning a danse macabre for Batman and arrange the delivery of an invitation to the villainous Joker.[7]

Meanwhile Commissioner Gordon tries to stop a Gotham newspaper from running a story on a dossier allegedly compiled by a detective hired by the parents of Martha Wayne, which contains many shocking allegations: testimony that Thomas Wayne was a drunk who addicted his wife to heroin, insinuations that Alfred Pennyworth is Bruce Wayne's true biological father, and photographs depicting an orgy involving Thomas and Martha Wayne, Alfred, and the stars of John Mayhew's noir film "The Black Glove" and the theory that Thomas Wayne may still be alive, the "murder" of the Waynes was in truth an elaborate hoax, arranged by Thomas Wayne in order to kill his unfaithful wife and fake his own death.

After one of Le Bossu's gargoyle henchmen drugs Batman with librium on the blade of a knife, Batman has the Batcomputer analyze all of his data on the Black Glove and Simon Hurt. The Batcomputer responds by displaying scenes from all over Gotham City in which the phrase "Zur-En-Arrh" has been spraypainted. Ghost is a fictional character, a comic book superhero published by Dark Horse Comics. The character appeared in specials and monthly titles detailing the "afterlife" of Elisa Cameron and her search for the truth surrounding her apparent death.

Ghost first appeared in Comics Greatest World Week 3 in (1993). After a popular special in 1994, a monthly title devoted to the character began publication in 1995 and ran for 36 issues, followed by a six-month break and a second series running for 22 issues. The second series was a continuation of the first but with many changes, including new details concerning Ghost's origin. The stories in both series were based in and around the city of Arcadia, firmly entrenched in a self-contained fictional universe outlined in Dark Horse's Comics' Greatest World.

The characters of Comics' Greatest World were conceived and created in the late 1980s. Ghost, however, continued appearing in her own titles and others into the 2000s, including several crossovers not related to Comics' Greatest World. Most notable among these were a two-issue crossover with Dark Horse's Hellboy (Ghost/Hellboy), and a four-issue crossover with DC Comics' Batgirl, Ghost/Batgirl: The Resurrection Machine.
