I agree on Ice Cube, Del La Soul Is Dead and It Was Written.

Often if a really good album follows a classic you get dissapointed, kinda dismiss it then find years later that it's quality.

Can't think of any right now.

Tony Bandana
06-15-2008, 01:37 AM
im just gonna say just to get it off my chest we dont have to talk about it Beastie Boys - Pauls Boutique

Longbongcilvaringz

Marshall Mathers LP is also in the top 10, and is a sophmore.

My bad on the Forever bro. Must have missed it.

Good one with Low End Theory.

What about Gravediggaz - The Pick The Sickle and the Shovel? Had a pretty number of bangers.

Big Daddy Kane - It's a Big Daddy Thing

Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent By Design maybe??

Pete Rock & CL Smooth - Mecca and the Soul Brother (it's technically sophmore because they released an EP All Souled Out in 1991)...

Mos Def - Black On Both Sides maybe??

Common Sense - Ressurection... one of the best albums all time

I didn't actually feel JMT at all at first. Then they grew on me. I couldn't stand the beats, and Vinnie Paz' voice.

But that was like... a year ago. When I didn't even listen to Wu-Tang that much.

LuckyTheWonderDog

the Pharcyde record you mentioned is there first i think? ,,i got the 2nd on, think its great

never was into E 40 ever..nor to be honest will i ever be . Not my style at all

I wasnt into Pac till All Eyez On Me Neither, but i see how great he was when i go through his shit when hen was alive.

i think just because i am more exposed and favour the East shit the best.

I couldn't give a shit who you're talkin about. I'll happily criticise the pair of you. But posting the same joke in multiple places is just weak. New material, we need new material! Remember Sicka - it's all about quality not quantity.

I'd quite happily watch you, Style and TSA trade blows (No Grecian) if you did it sparingly enough to come with classic material. Problem is, you now go at each other in so many threads that you just throw nonsense at each other half the time.

Nah an EP isn't an album, it's an EP!'.

NO OFFENSE BUT U SOUNDS STUPID SON.... AN EP IS AN ALBUM.
IT COUNTS AS A RELEASE ACCORDING TO RECORD CONTRACTS, SO YOU CAN'T SAY IT'S NOT AN ALBUM.

WHAT ABOUT SOUL ASSASSINS VOL 2.?

Without reading all the prior posts:

The Infamous by Mobb Deep (hands down the best follow up album ever).

7L & Esoteric - Dangerous Connections.

The Wrath Of Math by Jeru (that's the follow up to "Sun Rises in The East" right?).

ya it does but its not an L.P

now there iz a difference there..an E.P. is kind of like a tester to see the reaction of the public , then take it from there.

btw who did u qoute there did i say that.

and who was the E.P. we were talking about here Bone?

az for the Soul Asssasians 2 first one was killer i never heard it but thats more of a callabo of artists rather then an act or group ..

how about Goodie Mobbs Stll Standing...that was a great of the bat with Black Ice then major dissapointment after that..

BTW EPMD Strictly Business overall outtrumps Unfinished Business

Atlens was mentioned and i luved it right away..I still feel Aqumini is actually their best and Atliens a close 2nd . and that was it for me as a fan...

Black Sunday wasnt instant hall of fame 4 me azwell , blew my mind just like the first.

one of the greatest records ever really in the golden era..

OnYx's follow up was junk no?

you know who dropped a sick record and im not positive its his first or 2nd ???

Kurupt - Streetz Are A Mutherfucker is a heater.

maybe of the the greatest slept on records of alltime in the rap world . ?

I actually thought Onyx's follow up was pretty good, but no way better than Bacdafucup.

what up Sicka ..yeah huh that one waz touched on earlier.. I cant find mine copy. I think i would agree somewhat..i do recall a killa track with Mobb Deep there near the end

and being extremmly dissapointed with the Dr. Dre produced track .

but im not the Biggest fan of Illmatic but i luv NY State Of Mind and Lifes A Bitch.

do u think theres anything on It Was Written that can touch those 2 trackz?

NAH I DIDN'T QUOTE YOU I THINK THAT WAS ONGH..

HERE IS THE DIFFENCE BETWEEN AND E.P. AND L.P.

E.P. = EXTENDED PLAY 10 OR LESS SONGS BUT LENGTHY TRACKS TO FILL TIME GAPS.

L.P. = LONG PLAY 10 OR MORE TRACKS OVER ANY GIVEN TIME LINE.

EITHER WAY THEY BOTH CONSTITUTE AS ALBUMS.

SOULS ASSASSINS 2 WAS DOPE AS HELL.

VIEW FROM MASADA WAS AIIGHT.

So you didn't like Violent By Design at first? Wow, that was one of those albums I pretty much instantly preferred to the first.

hm, i really like Psychosocial....

Even though i heard it after VBD, i liked it before i like VBD if you know what i mean.

JMT are very hard to get into in my opinion, its worth it though.

Once i got over Vinnie Paz as oppose to Ikon, VBD stood up.

and as spinx said, an EP is not considered an album generally.
