The General Impact Of The Decline Of A Civilization by Philip Atkinson (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/author.htm)

When a civilization declines it goes into reverse (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/reverse.htm) with all the wealth, power and wisdom realised by its rise being discarded at an ever increasing rate until dissolution (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/theend.htm). The people will discover that:

1. The quality (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/quality/index.htm) of goods and services falls as the cost increases; and this corruption extends into every aspect of their existence, from the faltering quality of bread (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/bread.htm) to the growing inconstancy of love (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/vows.htm).

2. The essential requirements of:
i. Peace will be disturbed by increasing interruptions of:
• Noise (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/signs/chap10.htm#Disturb).
• Indecency (seef-word (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/decline/loss/fword.htm) and loss of shame (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/decline/loss/noshame.htm))
• Violence from within (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/whatis/chap13.htm) and from without (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/brbarian/index.htm) the community.

3. Order will be increasingly eroded (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/signs/chap10.htm).
Tyranny (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/signs/chap6.htm#Demanded)and injustice (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/decline/loss/murder.htm)will reign as delusion (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/diagnose.htm#delude)triumphs and the community dissolves into impotence (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/signs/index.htm). But this will never be generally recognized because the source of the disease is thewaning (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/signs/chap9.htm) of citizens' comprehension. A decay made palpable by the disappearance of plain speaking (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/language/index.htm).

Such a society is no longer engaged in creating a human heaven on earth, but is earnestly constructing the very opposite where:
i.The worst people (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/worst.htm) get rewarded while the best get penalized.ii.The education system (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/dumb/index.htm) can only spread delusion.iii.The bureaucracy (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/public/chap4.htm) becomes a liability instead of an asset.iv.The courts (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/signs/chap8.htm) must promote injustice.
However this will always be denied because truth will be vanquished by lies. (http://www.ourcivilisation.com/truth.htm)

Diggy, do you have any words of your own, or are you here to post the wannabe revolutionary propaganda you constantly read? Do you know that a 5th grade education is all it takes to #1- realize all the "no shits" in the info you post, #2- denounce the defeatist mentality you are propagating, and #3- realize that half these dudes you rely on for education rely on other uneducated propagandists for their own education?

Take for example this statement:

"However this will always be denied because truth will be vanquished by lies."

What? How about "all that is in the dark will be brought to light"?

You must have truth to believe in the power of truth. You must be honest and have integrity in order to honor honesty and integrity, and value the power of both. Only those who are full of lies believe "truth will be vanquished by lies".

Do you even know who you are quoting? No? Ok... let me post something else he wrote...

"The inadequacy of Democracy, rule by the majority, is undeniable – for it demands adopting ideas because they are popular, rather than because they are wise.

The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands, or until they were all dead.

By elevating popular fancy over truth, Democracy is clearly an enemy of not just truth, but duty and justice, which makes it the worst form of government.

If President Bush copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestiege while terrifying American enemies.

He could then follow Caesar's example and use his newfound popularity with the military to wield military power to become the first permanent president of America, and end the civil chaos caused by the continually squabbling Congress and the out-of-control Supreme Court.

President Bush can fail in his duty to himself, his country, and his God, by becoming “ex-president” Bush or he can become “President-for-Life” Bush: the conqueror of Iraq, who brings sense to the Congress and sanity to the Supreme Court."- www.familysecuritymatters.org, Philip Atkinson

I'm sure you LOVE this dude and value his opinion...

No, I was not saying all our problems were cuz of high oil prices. That is just one part of the problem in our society causing it to decline.

First of all, u obviously know nothing about me.

Gas is NOT expensive for me cuz I don't even own a vehicle nor do I need one.

You speak from a position of ignorance.

If KTL fell off, it's cuz of posts from ignorant cats such as yourself who have nothing to add beneficially to threads - this and the other post you put here are examples of that.

Pussy has nothing to do with this, and considering the fact that you are the one who has the most ugliest chizzled fuck up face I've seen in my life ( if that really is your ugly face that was posted up on this site), then u are the one most likely not gettin pussy.

Its an interesting situation.....what effect the decline of a great civilization has on the rest of the world. For instance, the break up of the USSR and its effects.....the Fall of Rome and its effects on Europe...

You could go on. It DOES have a profound effect on the future. Good idea for a thread Diggy.

This is written from a perspective of an American, a dweller of a country that has lived too easy for like 60 years and now it's the end of the world because they actually have to pay for gas.

I lived through a war in my country, everything was lacking, from oil to food to medicines. NO ONE could fill up. It was prohibited. You went to the gas station with a coupon for, like 5 gallons, you got served your five gallons and went away happy because you could drive to work.

And that was easy, my parents were telling me 'bout the 80's when cars that had license plates that ended on an even number were allowed to drive only on even days, as a gas-saving measure.

As you see, our civilization didn't disappear.

What country was that and how long did the ration last?

Another thing. The way the prices are going, they might get high and stay high for a very long time. We might not get thru this unless we start using other sources of energy.

Or maybe this is just some business tactic them "oilmen" are using for now.

I think that there is a strong case to support the essence of what Diggy is saying.

Higher oil prices are not exclusively a worry because we have to pay more to fill up, the worry stems from the fact that all of our suppliers have to pay more to transport goods. The flow on effect will be greater inflation.

Greater inflation at a time where inflation is already at a higher than expected level is definitely going to have a flow on effect.

The decline of the US economy and the rise and rise of Europe, China and India is setting the precedent for a very interesting future.

Higher oil prices are going to take the steam out of the Chinese and Indian economies, but Europe like America holds a significant amount of "oil stocks" therefore income from higher prices are going to flow back into the US and European economies.

No doubts about though. Higher oil prices are going to have a huge effect on people across the globe.
