^i dloaded and when i check the second haklf, i seen the mosty intense bit i've ever seen in any kung fu film... when he like does a 'auken' type thing like on street fioghter and an army started chargin at that woman.... then she tokes her cigarette fully hard and inhales the whole thing.. then it starts glowing and a firey thing comes out of her mouth... looks dope to me, but i aint seen all of it!

its more of a dark comedy rather than a martial arts flick

06-24-2005, 01:14 PM

06-29-2005, 05:59 AM

This guy is a real Hung Gar master..every now and then he took litlle parts in movies...
his name is Chiu Chi Ling.
Check his site...
home.earthlink.net/~chiuchiling/ (http://home.earthlink.net/~chiuchiling/)http://img137.echo.cx/img137/6273/capadarevistatcnica2sb.th.jpg

He was also in.....
snake in the eagles shadow
His name is nobody
duel of 7 tigers
winners and sinners
and plenty more........

06-29-2005, 12:52 PM
^snake in the eagles shadow is dope.... thats a jacki chan flik right, old skool one... what happenes in that again.. is that the different styles of kung fu what he has to learn...

06-30-2005, 11:54 AM
^ Yeah Snake is what started the comedy phase and Drunken Master followed, similar characters n similar story....he learns Snake style from the old drunkard and then watches a cat fight a snake which gets defeated so he combines it wid 'cat' style, to da feat da ultimate bad man, Hwang Jang Lee aka Northern Leg!

I got alota kung fu dvd's ill post a list sumtime...Peace

06-30-2005, 01:08 PM
^yeh, the hardest style he learns is Miss Hoe... lol... thats a classic film.

drunken master's cool, the master on that is in a wu tang film too... cant remeber which one.

06-30-2005, 04:12 PM
I might have to d/l this, as I been wanting to check it out for a while. Looks sick from trailers like you said Wutage. ONE

Fei Long
07-04-2005, 11:03 PM
It's a dope-ass movie. It's just that the end fight wasn't done right....they should have shown more hand-to-hand wushu but instead the villain just started all over the damn place. The guitar fight was the illest.

07-11-2005, 08:25 AM
^ahhh, i still haven't seen it... i need to, i've only seen bits.

10-06-2005, 02:02 PM
Have to agree with Fei Long on the end fight scene, but overall one of the best movies I've had the pleasure of watching in a long time.

The knife-throwin' bit had me in tears of laughter; lucky I saw it on Chinese DVD and was able to pause it, or I would've missed the next bit...There's some hilarious scenes. And the first battle in Pig Sty Alley is one of the best fight scenes I've ever seen!

It's written, directed by and stars Stephen Chow, a Chinese comedy legend who also wrote, directed and starred in Shaolin Soccer if you didn't know.

06-25-2006, 01:00 PM
This movie is a lot of fun and a great way to spend an afternoon. I laughed a lot. I love kung fu flicks and this had a lot of good visuals. Quite a bit of wire work, but not too much.

I want to see Shaolin Soccer now. That was Chow's first.

06-25-2006, 01:57 PM
i thought this film was overrated. comedy wasnt bad, but the excessive cgi and wirework gave me a headache, i can handle wirework but the cgi was too much. shaolin soccer was better.

06-25-2006, 02:00 PM
yeah in enjoyed this film
its not proper kung fu like the stuff i like, cos as elaquent says it relies on cgi too much
fun to watch though, some parts were really funny

06-25-2006, 02:11 PM
I liked this film the storyline wasn't important for me
Just the special effects and slapstick comedy

Especially the brothers that played that harp thing

06-25-2006, 02:31 PM
The axe gang were the sickest.

06-25-2006, 04:31 PM
Movie was fucking ILL as.I watched it in english and the asian version, and for some reason i enjoyed it more in chinese/cantonese whatever it is,as it seemed more authentic etc.

06-25-2006, 09:23 PM
The funniest movie i've seen in a long time, shaolin soccer is also good.

Orion Nebulus
06-26-2006, 09:54 AM
Yeah its a pretty ill movie..then again most kung fu flicks are. :)

06-26-2006, 11:10 AM
a bit too cartoony for me. prefer me kung fu flicks more series ala hero and house of flying daggers
