One of these three:

Almighty - Original S.I.N.
eMC - The Show
Edgar Allen Floe - Streetwise LP

It's been a good year in hip hop

1. Jeezy - Recession
2. Vordul Megalh - Megagraphitti
3. Prodigy - HNIC 2
4. Roots - Rising Down
5. Lil Wayne - Carter III
6. 9th wonder + Buckshot - The Formula

SO FAR though, Evidences new EP will probably knock out Waynes effort when it comes out. Hsant been a great year for albums. Theres been alot of amazing mixtapes though.

Paper Trail > C3.

Is Jeezy's really all that? I'm gonna give that shit a dl.

Paper Trail has too much garbage, its another average effort from TI. I dont see how you can say its better than C3 when all he did was try to copy C3 on the album.

there were a few nice albums, better than previous three years at least

I really like Q-Tip's album, but ok, that isn't the best one....Almighty and EMC have strong albums, but not all the tracks bang the same, same problem with Untitled

Killah Priest & Chief Kamachi ??? maybe, ...but nah

Killah Priest - Behind the Stained Glass I. is my personal favourite for now.

Planet Asia killed it. That could be the best....nah, that should've been the best, but it ain't.

Red Hooks and Atmosphere are close to having the best one.

And I know I'm forgetting a lot of album just right now.

It's way too early to decide on that.

November 25 - Kanye West: 808's and Heartbreak
December 3 - Jay-Z: The Blueprint 3
December 8 - Eminem: Relapse
December 9 - 50 Cent: Before I Self Destruct
December 9 - Common: Universal Mind Control

^^ true.

i also agree 100% w/ dj methods.
"the preface" by elzhi and "rising down" by the roots. i give my vote so far to "rising down". the only thing that makes it a 9/10 for me is that all the guests (which were ALL stellar) didnt leave enough room for black thought. he didnt have enough verses on the album.

elzhi blew me away w/ his debut solo! i'm very close to putting "the preface" into the category of hall of fame classic solo debuts, such as "illmatic" & "liquid swords".

So far Rising Down and Untitled are my top 2, but you have to take into consideration that I haven't listened to Pro Tools or The Renaissance (despite buying it on Friday) yet.

I dunno, i wouldnt include any Wu albums as the best of the year, they were all lacking. The Almighty and GZA albums were probably the pick of the bunch, but "Welcome To The Red Hook" or whatever its called had pretty thin production, and the Hell Razah and Killah Priest & Chief Kamachi albums were pretty weak.

I still havent heard a lot of albums from this year, ive missed out on a lot of underground releases, but i havent got the money for that shit. Gonna pick up "Rising Down" when i get a chance.

nope not a remix, its the first song on the album, it does sound like another verse he did on cold vein though.

the beats on this album are 8O8O8O8O that air battery song with Tommy Gunn (Megalon) is making me flip out. Id upload that too but I think everyone should just go buy the album. Make sure you listen on a good system, not PC speakers, the bass reflex is kicking out my box right now

Dude its Nas, the most disappointing MC in the league lol. Were you really expecting that much? I personally think its a banger though.

i hear ya, but i completely blame def jam 100% for that. i think if they just put out the album that nas handed in then i bet it'd be a banger.
still, i'll never forgive nas for changing the name. what a bitch move!!! i cant believe he caved. it was such a great concept....and it was POSITIVE!!!!!! (and i'm white!)
(so, u can use the n-word as many times as u want in movies & on albums, but u cant name ur album THAT?!?!?!?! man, has def jam turned into quite a piece of shit!)
this was such an important album that nas shoulda treated it like rae is treating OB4CL2, and held on to it until the situation was perfect.

all that aside though, and i know this method kinda sucks, but if u combine the official "untitled" w/ nas/green lantern's "the n***ER tape and burn those together, u have a near-classic, possibly classic album!

Did Blu and Exile drop this year?

If so, it's my pick.

Vordul Mega's album is dope though.

Blu & Exile was last year. I was on that shit the week it dropped and people were talking about it 5 months later haha.

White Van Music is pretty cool, bit up and down though.
