I think its actually called 'mama said knock you out'.

But yes, it is a good song, its by a guy named LL Cool J who was a big rap star, and it was released about 19 years ago.

He has other good songs from before this too, you should check those out. He is still making music to this day, but you probably wouldnt like it as much.

I've heard that name before, is he the guy Canibus made that song about? I thought it was hypothetical!!!!

But yes, good post.

The delivery in this is just too on point though. I was listening to it yesterday again and the delivery is too too too on point.

DAMAGE, DAMAGE, DAMAGE

yeah i hold this as one of the best hip-hop songs ever recorded and this album is imo the peak of LL's career.. he was just hungry as fuck and managed to cover all aspects and topics with his rhymes on that diamod of an album.

Yep, easily top 10 all time for me. There's a genius to it I still haven't gotten yet, who the FUCK would think of "Mama said knock you out"?? Really.

And i explooooooodeeeeeeeeee
and my 9 is easy to loooooooooad

I dont feel LL at all now, and though can appreciate "Radio", don't hold it in such high esteem as everyone else - This song, and that album, is just raw as fuck.

^^ how did you feel about "14 Shots to the Dome", that got some weak reviews and was badmouthed alot but i think that's a banging album as well. of course not as good as this one before but still it has much of the same sound, Marley Marl also produced half of that album.

It's got some hard as hell beats, and LL still sounds hungry to me, but I think it copped some unfair criticism because his last album(s) were strong as hell. It happens with artists sophmore albums too.

But yeah, I liked it, quite a bit. It came out a few years after Mama and hip-hop had completely blown up then, peoples expectations build. Will be the same with OB4CL2 when it drops, too much hype can only disappoint.

Got some fucking ill songs on there too. My mate gave me mass amounts of shit when I bumped it but "Crossroads" is dope as hell to me, same with loads of others.

^yeah he has done other old school hip hop documentaries, some very good ones, some of the best that we have from back in the day.

Its funny that a guy from Europe was the only one to recognize Hip Hop enough to make documentaries while American's didnt make these shows.
