You serious? :D I love these two tracks man. But fuck it, it's all about opinions.

Wu-Tang Forever is the perfect Wu-Tang cd in my opinion. The beats, the knowledge, the flows, the melodies, the lyrics, the talking... It's one of the best albums ever made in history and although some tracks ain't classic, it's just a perfect album, it's like the tracks that ain't that great still should be on this cd. "The highs that we bring with the lows". That's why I would rate Forever 10/10.

this is a great album. there are soem tracks i'm not feeling but a majority of them are brilliant hip hop. i am one of the few that thinks Triumph is NOT the best track on the album. i think the drums are weak on that track. deadly melody, severe punishment, older gods, little ghetto boys, are some of the best songs in the wu-tang catalogue.

Disc 1

Wu Revolution - I hate this intro. Shit bores me to death.
Reunited - 4.5/5 Would have gotten a 5 rating if the whole "motherfucker" thing wasn't overdone. GZA rips it to shreds though.
For heavens sake - 5/5 One of the best songs on this disc. I gotta repeat the first 3 seconds like 10 times before I can listen to the whole song.
Cash still rules - 5/5 Deserves its name.
Visions - 5/5 Classic Deck beat. Great verse from Meth.
As high as wu tang get - 5/5 GZA's flow at its greatest.
Severe Punishment 5/5 My favorite song on this disc. U-God shows everybody what he's capable of.
Older God - 5/5 This song's special to me for some reasons. I love how Ghost opens the track.
Maria - 4/5 I used to find this song annoying but then it grew on me. Great track. Cappa isn't so horrible on this one.
A better tomorrow 5/5 Deck's verse here > Deck's verse on Triumph. He kills it.
Itz yourz - 5/5 ITS YOURZ!

Disc 2

Intro - 5/5 Classic intro.
Triumph - 5/5 ...It's Triumph.
Impossible - 4/5 Simple beat, but everybody rips it. (Especially Ghost)
Lil ghetto Boys - 5/5 I love this one. Rae is the shit on this.
Deadly Melody - 5/5 One of my favorite Wu songs. Masta Killa stole the show.
The City - 5/5 Deck proves he can handle a full song without getting it boring.
The Projects 5/5 The beat is fresh as hell. I used to hate Ghost's verse, but now I love it. It's also my ringtone.
Bells of war - 5/5 I love this track too. Classic RZA verse.
MGM - 4/5 I would have rated it 5/5 but I think I overplayed this song. Doesn't have the same effect on me anymore. Still a banging track.
Dogshit - 5/5 ODB...enough said.
Duck Season - 5/5 RZA drops the verse of his career IMO. Rae and Meth come correct too.
Hellz Wind Staff - 5/5 Damn.
Heaterz - Nice - 5/5 Mathematics' best beat ever. It's up there with the other classic Wu songs.
Black Shampoo - 5/5 A lot of people don't like this one but I think U-God ripped it. I love his flow on it.
Second Coming - 4.5/5 Perfect way to close the album. Never skip this one.
The Closing - Never skipped this track, even though it's the outro.

Wu Forvever & The W are fighting for No1 position as i see it; one day it will just be Forever & the next its The W but on the topic of Forvever, the album thrives on some of the best lyrics ever put down - Gza's 'make it brief son, half short twice strong" ALOT of the tracks rza rhymes over are his best ever on this album, Maria sticks out though - "her obsession caused niggaz to give, the ASSCHEEK injection, chic lied said she had unirary tract infection.... caused a nigga to fuck her raw dawg without no condom"; Ghosts - "here's a tennis court for your birthday" gets me all the time... FUCKING TIGHT LP UP IN MY CD COLLECKTION

9.5/10... sounds like it so almost could have been perfect to me. Some tracks seem like they spent so long writing the lyrics they hadnt slept for days when the recorded the verses. RZA is untouchable on that album, just really Disc 2 some of the songs are kinda out of place and I don't really like 'The Projects' much. With a bit more energy and maybe some of the tracks condensed this could be the best album ever.

4.5/5. the only songs i dont really listen to alot are As High As Wu-tang Get and Duck Seazon. Gza's verse and Dirty were the only good parts about AHAWG. and the beat on Duck Seazon puts me to sleep. i did wanna hear a lot more GZA, ODB, and Masta on this album. didnt get to hear much of them.

One of the best albums ever. My favorite album ever. This was the peak, where they just couldn't get any better - and people didn't start appreciating it until just recently. I remember when I first started visiting Wu-Tang boards (2002-ish), there were a lot of haters of Forever.

5. Visionz 4/5... really like this... just doesn't catch you like the earlier songs though...
6. As High As Wu-tang Get 4.5/5... interesting beat and it works really well... odb's chorus breaks the verses up nicely...
7. Severe Punishmenet 4/5... i should like this more than i do... just not into the beat...
8. Older Gods 5/5... i love the way raekwon comes into this track...
9. Maria 4/5... at first seems out of place, but is far from...

5. Deadly Melody 4/5... track is slightly draggy... great appearance by street here...
6. The City 3.5/5... not sure, just not feeling it as much as the rest of the album...
7. The Projects 4/5... ghost's verse is a disappointing way to finish, but meth and rae are all over the beat...
8. Bells of War 4/5... slightly draggy again... nice laid back beat with great mcing though...
9. The MGM 4/5... the beat is fantastic here...
10. Dog Shit 3.5/5... funny, nice way to break the album up a bit...
11. Duck Seazon 3.5/5... the beat is too monotonous for me...
12. Hellz Wind Staff 3.5/5... street kicks it off brilliantly, but it fades out from there...
13. Heaterz 5/5... best track on disc 2...
14. Black Shampoo 4/5... great beat, but slightly out of place...
15. Second Coming 3/5... good to get tekitha on there...

ok, this album is 10/10 (36 Chambers is 11/10:cheerlie: ), straight classic and the best hip-hop double disc ever. My favourities are: Heaterz (BANGA!!), Triumph, Reunited, The MGM, Bells Of War, Reunited, A Better Tomorrow, It's Yourz, Older Gods, Impossible & Second Coming (can see that this song is hated on here, but I completely disagree and simple love it).

I'll admit when I first listened to this album through quickly, I didn't really like it. I think it was because I was expecting another 36 chambers, but this is so different as the Wu have evolved their sound and the result is this brilliant album.

The album has it's moments. I use to consider this a classic but nah. The production didn't age well at all in my opinion. Lyrically the clan was on some cloud 9 type sh1t but as an album it felt unorganized. It has good songs and a lot of the album feels like a 2 hour long cypher and thats actually what makes it dope in a way but at the same time somewhat hinders it. I think Impossible is being slept on in this thread. I say that cuz it didn't get straight 5/5's across the board. The mood of the beats captures the lyrics perfectly to me. Tekitha's got that kinda mourning saddness in her voice that only adds to it. And everyone absolute kills it on the mic. Ghost brings them Sorcesse-type lyrics, mentally its a movie. I'd say he's the mvp of the track if Rza and U-god didn't kill it like they did. Really it's too close to call

not better than 36 chambers , Sorry. what yall fail to realize at the time what kinda eqipment rza used to record those tracks and the straight up rawness and honesty that cameout of their rhymes on the first album. the whole cohesiveness that surrounded the whole album. Forever had potentially a chance to be a classic album but had one to many irrelevant tracks on it. It was more of a puzzle that wasnt complete. Im sorry but triumpth is not better than protect ya neck. In my opinion even tearz was better than every sony on forever . just look at what rza and ghost face were rhyming about on that track. thats what made their fans fall in love with them.

Forever has bad sound quality. i don't mind bad sound quality (i usually prefer it), but Forever's bad sound quality comes from it being overproduced, whereas shit like 36 Chambers, Tical, etc, was all underproduced. overproduction is the worst thign for music.

not better than 36 chambers , Sorry. what yall fail to realize at the time what kinda eqipment rza used to record those tracks...
WTF does equipment have to do with making hot tracks? There's cool hip-hop tracks from the 80's and they were using weak equipment. Hell, even my friends make pretty nice beats on Fruity Loops. If you're hot you're hot, regardless of the equipment.

...and the straight up rawness and honesty that cameout of their rhymes on the first album.
Sooo, none of the generals did this on "FOREVER?"

Forever had potentially a chance to be a classic album but had one to many irrelevant tracks on it.
Such as...?? And what's your definition of irrelevant...

In my opinion even tearz was better than every sony on forever . just look at what rza and ghost face were rhyming about on that track. thats what made their fans fall in love with them.
You honestly cannot be serious. So, the WU should just stick to making songs about improving the community (violence, HIV, drugs, etc...)?? Ya thats cool, but what about just sick, raw hip-hop shit?

YES, Enter The 36 Chambers is an awesome album, but FOREVER is just as good, if not even better. The fact that you have 2 full cd's of great hip-hop and every track on it is AT LEAST an 8.5 or 9 out of 10 deserves credit.

If it was just one CD of the hottest shit on both CDs, the stupidly long intro was taken out, and the rest to come out on some kind of Hidden Darts type EP then I think it would have been better as an album.

Quality over quantity.

Ya co-sign. Dis aint better than 36 chambers. Its overlong and projects, maria, older gods and the city arent my favourite. Still an absloute classic, but it cums in after 36 chambers

DISC 2

triumph 10/10...my all time favorite wu-tang track
impossible 9.5/10
little ghetto boys 8.5/10
deadly melody 9/10
the city 10/10
the projects 10/10...dont know why people hate this track so much
bells of war 8/10... i always though the drums on this track were too soft. should've had harder drums
MGM 10/10
dog shit 10/10
duck seazon 6.5/10...lyrically this track is great but the beat is snoozeville.
hells wind staff 9/10
heaterz 10/10...DUH
black shampoo 10/10...seriously this is the most brilliant hiphop love song ever. this should not have been on this album cuz its totally random and out of place on and album full of raw beats and raw raps. the beat and lyrics on this track are poetic.
second coming 6/10...have to be in a certain mood to listen to this track or just be too lazy to skip it.

IMPORT TRACKS**

sunshower 10/10
project international remix 10/10

this is one of those albums where the album as a whole is better than the sum of its parts. not a lot of certified wu bangers on here but its a bangin when you listen to it all the way through. a lot of underwhelming tracks but only 2 or 3 that i would skip consistantly. not as good an effort after 6 immaculate albums prior.

A strong 9/10 album. Lyrically the Wu are advanced on this album than 36 chambers, but a handful of 'filler' tracks, such as the projects and and a few other beats prevent this album from being the classic it couldve been. If done correctly this album could possibly be greater than 36 chambers. Lyrically, this is what the clan need to be like in future projects, group or solo. Plus this was the last true album to have odb appear on more than 1 track. A great follow up to 36 chambers.

black shampoo has good mcing on it, its just the kind of song that no one really wanted to hear and its too close to the end of the album. Overall forever is my favorite wu tang album i preferred the trippier grimey beats like on 36 chambers and some solo albums but these beats are still nice, and certain members like deck really shine on them. Forever has alot of content in it with almost every song being quite long for a hiphop track. Lyrically and stylistically most of these guys are at their peak on this album. You can literally listen to this album forever

I stand by what I wrote for the most part, but I now feel that there are NO filler tracks, since only recently for some reason did the greatness of the album really hit me. Each and every track is absolutely brilliant, and I guess due to the amount of songs it had it took me a little longer to really appreciate this album for what it is. So now my rating is 10/10 for the whole album, though like someone said, black shampoo couldve been somewhere in the middle, but being where it is on the album does very little harm. Now I'm fully convinced that this is the BEST hip hop double album of all time, period.

RZA, if you are reading this, I have to say that this was probably the best goddamn album I've ever heard in my life. I love For Heaven's Sake cause ya'll screaming "Wu Tang, Wu Tang" throughout the song like "Mothafuckas, ya'll can't stop us and shit!", I love "Dog Shit" cause of ODB (he really can flow!). I also like Triumph and Reunited, but my favorite two are Hell's Wind Staff and Maria. Maria has that kind of beat that take you to another place. Was that your intention with that beat? I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this album, it was great. RZA, your pockets must have been getting low to create this classic! (lol)

Might not be classic on the level of Liquid Swords and OB4CL, but a lot of people would say Forever is the best double album in hip-hop. It might be a flawed album but there's A LOT of great tracks on here.

It's easily better than All Eyez On Me and Life After Death which both got 5 mics.

This is about the album, not the phrase thats always mentioned, but I was listenin to it again the past few days and i realized some of the craziest verses i've ever heard have been spit on this album, gza on reunited, straight fire, my fav. verse of all time. Ghost on impossible, obvious choice here, rza on impossible, i loved his flow and what he talks about in his verse, and obviously deck on triumph, odb was nice on reunited as well, and ugod was pretty sick on impossible as well. Some of the sickest tracks ever from the wu-tang camp were on this like reunited triumph, heaterz, deadly melody, older godz etc. sometimes i feel like this was better than 36 chambers, but then i listened to that again and those feelings get trumped. i dont want this to seem like some sorta review or wutever , im just sayin this is the best hip-hop double disc ever, better than life after death and all eyez on me. Straight fire, I only think their was like 2 or 3 wack tracks on here like black shampoo and i didn't really like the projects but it was kinda funny. anyways lets hear what other people got to say

Co sign man. This is definitely my favourite hip hop double album PERIOD. However when I first got it and listened to it I thought it was a good album and nothing more, so didn't give it much spins till bout a few months ago. Then it clicked, and that's when I truly discovered the dopeness of this album. Beatwise and lyricwise the Wu are just outstanding here, with no actual whack track, although 2 or 3 like projects may be a little weaker than the others. Imo you also need to take your time with this cd to really appreciate it, not that it's a grow-on-you type album, but there's plenty of material here that at first listen it may go over most people's heads, like it did with me. Peace.

Wu Revolution - A insane beat, With knowledge ALL OVER it 4/5

Reunited - Holy fuck, Easily one of wu's best tracks, and rzas best beats 5/5

For heavens sake -Great collab with Deck, Cappa and Killa. The best is like ear sex 5/5

Older God - The cuban links AND gza, Ouch, amazing. This hurt the industry and let the world know WU TANG WAS THE BEST. 5/5

A better tomarrow - THIS is what hip hop is about, Teaching, Not gloating. Wu tang at its finest 5/5

This one of the few albums of any genre that I can listen to a majority/all the songs without skipping anything

I usually find myself just in everyday situations humming beats or just dropping some of the rhymes from the album without even noticing. I really recommend this to fans of any genre. No library is complete without it

Visionz really shows off Deck's producing talent.
love "a better tomorrow", it's not often you hear tracks like that from not only hip hop as a whole, but from a heavier "hardcore" group.
the question shouldnt be for this album as a whole, or 36, but rather the best question relating to the wu ever- whats better forever or 36?
and my answer to that is forever is better both lyrically and with the beats. it's so much deeper as a whole.
but the thing about 36 that cant be ignored (and shows in their live shows) it's got unsurpassed energy. like you just get hyped up like nobody's business when hearing that shit.

Unfair to rate this as I did that many moons ago under a different user name. An epic of incredible magnitude and ambition. I think Ghostface was right when he said this was like trying to feed a baby steak. We can all probably cut this down into one incredible cd but from other reviews most of us would end up with a different cd. The Wu were the gods of the world when they released this and I admire them hugely for not simply releasing Enter Part 2. I don't know if anyone has the NME review of this they could post. Peace

^^^ i agree.......... about 99%. my problem w/ "forever" is my own expectations. i expected to absolutely LOVE any & everything that was recorded for this album.
"forever" is LOADED w/ superior material. it has better (by far) hiphop music than anything else ever made. however, IMO its NOT perfect.... NOT flawless. there are about 3 tracks i dont really like that much. but the fact that there is SOOOOO MUCH other great material pretty much makes up for it.
i'm pretty confident that nothing in the future (in music) will ever come close to what the WU has done....... & especially the RZA. nobody will ever come close to his production level.

"WU Forever" was amazing. thinking/talking about it now...... i can think back, & i'm still astonished at what the WU was able construct here.

Overall a great album. The best double CD ever in hip-hop. However, it could have been amazing if it was on one disc and the filler tracks were taken out. I shouldn't complain though, I spent most of 1997 listening to this, it sure is well worth the purchase!

I remember Rza said it gave 8.5/10 to wu-tang forever. He said he had made very strange beats for this album but eventually he kept these beats for his solo because he knew wu-tang fans would not understand this kind of shit. He said that he should keep beats like "bring the pain" for "wu-tang forever" so the album would be incredibly better ! Can U imagine that ? Sometimes when I gave news it came from french hip hop magazines cuz I am french-speaking person and I lived in France in the 90's. In 1997 I read everything relating to the wu. After that when Bobby Digital released, Rza said according to the source (the hip hop magazine) that he knew he should go through a year he would make weak beats but after that he made good beats again. I think that after the 1993-1997 era, Rza was empty, angry and tired. He said he was disappointed by wu generals because they made a mess of wu-tang forever tour. They didn't come to the concerts and things like that. I do think these motherfuckers thought they were stars and they didn't need to work no more ! Stupid dudes ! I really like wu-tang music but I should admit they are weak businessmen. I think they lost many fans by making a mess of forever tour. When you don't respect fans they tell you : "fuck off".

one of the illest and most complete albums ever created, and with that being said it's still a goddamn double CD with close to 2 hours of Wu-Tang dopeness. i love this album so much because it documents Wu-Tang Clan at their absolute peak in the game, they still sound mad hungry like on "36 Chambers" cuz they know this was their final destination that would lead to world domination (according to RZA), but their techniques and lyrics had been sharpened during the years and the classic solo projects leading up to this.

they make it very clear from the beginning that this is an album that 100% focuses on lyrics, this is pure hip-hop right here. the beats are much more stripped down than any of RZA's previous works, hard slaps of drumkicks, hi-hats, some keys and sound effects is the formula for alot of joints here but it definitely works and becomes the perfect canvas for the 9 swordsmen to throw darts over. previous albums had a warmer feel to it, with lots of elements of soul incorporated and smooth samples but on "Forever" that is totally absent. it's more digitized, hardly any recognizable samples on the majority of the songs but it allows the listener to totally focus on the lyrics being spitten and that's the whole point.

more or less every single member of the group was at their lyrical peak on here too imo, RZA, Meth, U-God, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon and Ghostface all sound incredible. matter of fact they all sound incredible, it's just that GZA and ODB is missing from alot of tracks but where they are present they definitely make you feel that presence. there's quotables for days here, if you're into lyrical hip-hop you can't hate on this album in any fucking way. well you had to be a fool or deaf to hate on the beats even, RZA made a great job and especially with the help from 4th Disciple and True Master (who relies more on samples) the sound becomes diverse enough to allow the music to spread over two discs.

4.9/5
