Is this the earliest clip of break dancing? Serious discussion ensues...

That was puzzling me for some time, then I realized he was actually playing harmonica.

I don't think the year is correct, looks more like early 20th century. It does look like proper b boying though as opposed to just the early dances which b boys took their inspiration from. This is a serious find, I hope this footage is brought to light and hopefully investigated further in either a doc or article. The early beginnings of b boying has always remained s bit of a mystery as to who were the ones that actually invented the style at the very start, alot tend to claim that it was invented in stages by several different people and that seems to be the official word but no one truly knows who really started what in some cases because these events where never documented and claimed at the time of creation.

This really is not like breakidancing at all. I dotn kwno why people are saying that. Its just an irish jig. Breakdancing started early 70's.

AND THIS AINT IT. This is just a form of dance. If you really think these guys are breakdancing you need a Dr Carter

^^???....wtf

What specialised knowledge do you somehow pertain about what people looked like in the late 19th century that means you are able to argue with the date given by the youtube poster that you makes you think it was 10 years further than the date given?

Im not trying to go at you but that was a REALLY weird thing for you to say. I dont think I would be able to tell the difference in footage from the late 1990's to the early 2000's, so how the fuck are you able to do it for this video?

because of the footage it's self. It looks too clean and smooth, i've seen world war 1 footage and other footage set years later thats shittier than this. Also if you read my post again you will clearly see that I wasn't stating a fact mearly an opinion.
