you may not hear much about this in your country but this is one of the worst "natural" (rape all fire bugs) disasters EVER.

These are the worst bush fires australia has seen - ever. for the last 2 weeks the southern states of australia (Victoria & South Australia) have had tremedously hot days, Victoria recorded 48 degree's one day (48 degree Celsius = 118.4 degree Fahrenheit) and very dry heat also, most of the wind has come from north (southerly winds bring dry desert air) and now the people who live in the "sticks" have lost 131 lives and 750 homes and the number keeps rising.

1W0t4zWSeSk

people have died trying to evacuate their homes (notice burned out cars on the roads), defend their homes and also fight the fires.

i absolutely love the australian rural fire fighters

australian bush fire fighters (seperate oraganization than city/suburban fire fighters) are all basicly all volunteers, have nothing near necassary eqiupment and in my opinion are the toughest fire fighters IN THE WORLD.

my thoughts and best wishes go out to the people in Victoria who have and will loose all their possessions, lets hope no more lives are lost, YES THESE FIRES WILL CONTINUE.

donations can be made at www.redcross.org.au (http://www.redcross.org.au)

Cali and Greece have nothing on these fires, nothing.

the fires are in the southern state of Victoria (orange) tone and j-cee wont show much love because New South Wales and Victoria have hatered for each other.

But Queensland and New South Wales hate each other and so do South Australia and Victoria.

Queensland and South Australia are cool.

we buy their cheap weed :)

what's worse is alot of these firefighters who fight the bushfires are volunteers because they get so wild and out of control and so far in the middle of nowhere you can't station firestations ... so you get this ridiculous scenario where a firebug starts a fire just so he can volunteer as a firefighter to put them out

lol all jokes aside with the victards, i don't wish death upon them ... even if i did say it was no biggie, it still is ... shit is sad wherever it happens

The Hound

the actual HEAT started the fires?

i haven't kept up with the story because i was out all day sunday and don't watch nightly news, so i don't know if it was a firebug or not

but usually it's a dry heat ... so it's really fucking hot, with high humidity and high winds ... because there's alot of tree and leaves and bush and all that shit a small fire can erupt out of anything and within an hour be an out of control bush fires

sometimes the heat causes a small fire and the wind takes it out of control

or sometimes when they do back burning - which is where the authorities intentionally start a controled fire so that it burns an area BEFORE the bushfire season (summer) so that if/when one DOES break out it can't spread - and again, the wind blows it out of the controled zone and it becomes a bushfire

sometimes people just like to start fires ... happens a lot here ... a few people nation wide have been arrested for arson this weekend for unrelated fires

wind isn't always the enemy though ... there was a really bad one last year or the year before on the mid north coast of my state that the wind blew in the opposite direction ... had the wind not blown it the other way an entire community would have been shattered like this but lucky the land destroyed wasn't inhabited

yeah like tone says, they are mostly volunteers, although our bush fires are fucking hardcore, they dont spring up all the time so its hard for our government to put worth wile money into funding (its my money too so i understnad) the last big one was the canberra bush fires in another hidden territory (we have two, northern territory, and the A.C.T. the australian capital territory) in New South Wales where parliment house sits.

i can remember as a kid there was one ridiculous fire that spread from the south coast up into the far southern outskirts of sydney ... it reached as far as my uncle's street in oyster bay and was literally 10 or so houses away from his, but they contained it before it reached further ... would have been 94/95 ... i live about 30 mins from oyster bay and there's a river seperating the shire from the district so it wouldn't have spread near me but i can remember the air being a thick, haze and stinking of smoke bad and fire embers were floating in the air and the entire horizon looking south from the hill in my street was pitch black

bush fires are fucking mental

this is what i speak of

1994 Eastern seaboard fires

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_Eastern_seaboard_fires#column-one), search (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_Eastern_seaboard_fires#searchInput)
The 1994 Eastern seaboard fires were bushfires (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bushfires) in New South Wales (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_South_Wales), Australia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia) between 27 December 1993 and 16 January 1994 were widespread along the NSW coast from Bega (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bega,_New_South_Wales) to the Queensland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queensland) border and inland as far as Bathurst (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathurst,_New_South_Wales). Over 80 separate fires encouraged by extreme hot dry and windy conditions threatened many areas including the major cities of Newcastle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newcastle,_New_South_Wales) and Sydney (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney). The fires killed four people and burnt out over 8,000 square kilometres. They destroyed 225 homes, most in southern Sydney suburbs of Jannali (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jannali,_New_South_Wales) and Como West (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Como_West,_New_South_Wales). Como West Public School (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Como_West_Public_School) was destroyed.
These fires generated a large amount of media coverage internationally. Unlike earlier fires, several of which caused much more damage, they entered a major city, as the latter Black Christmas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Christmas_%28bushfires%29) and 2003 Canberra bushfires (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Canberra_bushfires) would too. Also this is the only time a major city, Sydney, been threatened with total isolation due to fire. At the peak of the fires only the Hume Highway (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hume_Highway) to the southwest remained open, all other road and rail routes out of Sydney were closed. Residents of the entire metropolitan area of Sydney had to contend with ash raining down on them, and the sky remained a blazen orange for days afterwards.

jannali is like, 5 minutes on a train from me and that's how close it got ... bit further if you drive because you have to go out of your way

Fuck, they need to stop showing this shit on the news. It's horrible, everyone I know is safe thank god but so so many families have been wrecked because of this. Homes, possessions, pets, friends, girlfriends, kids, wives, relatives - Worst of all they've arrested someone under suspicion of starting the fires.

If it's delibrately lit I hope they charge the people/person with murder, manslaughter and every other fucking law they can think of. Very pro-snitching with this, little kids are being killed cause some fuckwit likes fire.

They had an interview with a Dad, he went to go fight for the family home, both his kids died.

As I type this another fire has sprung up! Only 60 km's from Melbourne as well, these fires were going at 100 km's per hour before.

EDIT: Good to see the Cricketers doing something though.

Also the footy players. Essendon vs Western Bulldogs pre-season match was gonna be in Darwin, they've changed it to Melbourne and now expect a sellout crowd. Every cent going towards the relief fund. 45+ thousand people should show up, great stuff.
