the wordplay and multis are insane. this was the last track he wrote for the mmlp and it took him like an hour. thats just sheer brilliance. hes way too ahead of his time. Big L was killed, but atleast Eminem was the caucasian version with the crazy tongue twisting style. 8 days after Lamont Coleman was killed, the slim shady lp dropped. EXACTLY THAT'S TODAY 10 YEARS AGO, FEBRUARY 23, 1999. ITS THE 10 YEAR FUCKING ANNIVERSARY OF THE SLIM SHADY. CLASSIC SHIT.
anyway, besides from the sslp, Im talking about the real slim shady on MMLP. CHECK OUT THESE DOPE LYRICS its not even humorous when you realize his rhymes aint no joke, even though it was intended to be.

"my bum is on your lips, my bum is on your lips
and if I'm lucky you might just give it a little kiss
and that's the message that we deliver to little kids
and expect them not to know what a womens clitoris is.
Of course they gonna know what intercourse is
by the time they hit 4th grade,
they got the discovery channel don't they?
We ain't nothing but mammals; well some of us cannibals
who cut other people open like cantaloupes.
But if we can hump dead animals and antelopes
then there's no reason that a man and another man can't elope "

the way he delivers this shit is insane. nobody could fuck with a prime eminem, real talk. pun was closest, but he wrote all his shit down with his patented dictionary he used to stick in his fat belly.

"Pinching nurses asses when I'm jackin' off with Jergens and I'm jerking
But this whole bag of viagra isn't working
And every single person is a Slim Shady lurkin'
He could be workin at Burger King spitten on your onion rings
Or in the parking lot circling
screaming I don't give a fuck
With his windows down and system up"

incredible shit. its witty, clever and straight up timeless. no wu-tang member could fuck with him, with all due respect. you dont want it with EMIN3M

canibus would merk eminem, ya eminem made a diss track to canibus and it sucked, i cant believe people thought it was good, canibus had better subliminal disses to him, chino would destroy eminem in a freestyle, if u wanna see who originated eminems style check chino xl, but still, eminem top 20 fo all time for sure. Canibus is one of my favorite MC's but even he in his prime would get devoured by a prime Shady. I'm really not sure anybody could fuck wit Em when he had his anger. As far as lyrical lynching, Chino's nice but he just aint as brutal as Em. He's clever but brutal I think not.

He was good with multis and punches on that Infinite shit, I think it was called, but I personally don't find that style very impressive. But I give him his props. No doubt he's better than most of the thousands of clowns who make weak arse imitations of that style.

However, I don't really find his other albums very impressive at all. First and foremost I can't stand him at all, due to his intolerable voice, delivery, and fakeness, but I did listen to all the pre-Encore albums to build a familiarity with his work, and I just wasn't impressed. He's good, but nothing special imo. I don't see what all the hype is about, from a hip hop perspective. Maybe it's just because I'm generally not impressed by multies, punches, similies etc.

chinos brutality is exquisite, he devoured killah priest alive on beastin, and i thot priest had a dominant verse until chino came on with my salivas lava and ended with these homos been in the closet so long imma donate em to salvation army, aand how bout i get a job at mcdonalds just to throw cyanide pills into kids meals, he dissed ICP also on that traack nunca which is a personal classic, i doubt they responded back, but man come on, canibus would get the best of emine, he would win my man, chino for sure would.

Well I was playing The Real Slim Shady a lot a few weeks ago and those rhymes and multi's are great indeed.... I've always thought it was a lil bit too commercial but those lyrics are just ill....

And I just don't get why people say that Chino XL originated Eminem's style?! Ok, Chino XL his punchlines were shocking and he also didn't give a fuck (I consider his Here To Save You All cd to be a classic and betta than Slim Shady LP) but Eminem was comin' through with that evil alter ego shit, bein white trailer trash, rappin' bout poppin' pills and doin' sick shit.... It doesn't seem to be quite the same in my opinion....

You can easily call Slim Shady the illest rapper between '98 and 2002.... Not sayin' that he was cuz there was tonz of rappers who were ripping it lyrically and flow wise back then but he was very ill....

Damn baby, Eminem was a beast back in the dayz. I've always been in agreement with what the chap who started this thread said. Eminem's lyrics were amazing. He could just make anything rhyme. And he is the only superstar rapper that I can truely say I grew up with. All the other major events in hip hop came in before I could even operate a god damned radio! But yeah, I have many good memories of Em. His lyrics are monster.

Big Pun was a lyrical beast we all know that, Big L was a dope Emcee and Sticky Fingaz proved that he can be equal to Slim Shady his sick shit on the Remember Me? track....

But Jadakiss and Masta ace? Naaaah....

The only thing that I don't like bout Eminem (other than that encore shit ofcourse) is the beats on his cd's I mean what kind of beats are used on the Slim Shady LP? When I listen to Slim Shady LP I expect dark and grimey beats and only Role Model and Still Don't Give a Fuck were goin' in that direction, on The Marshall Mathers LP he had The Way I Am , Remember Me? , Amityville and Kim to be dark and grimey, but in his underground days he used to rap on dope beats especially on the Bad Meets Evil LP and on that track with Thirstin Howl 3 ....

"Slim Shady" has NEVER made Canibus scared to guest appear on a track with him. From what I understand, Slim Shady looks up to Big Pun mostly for the syllables. Got his whole style from Chino XL and Chino still outdoes the guy... I mean, be realistic.. Eminem in his prime on a track featuring Big Pun, Jadakiss, Big L, Chino and Canibus?... there's no way his verse will stand out... especially against Pun, Bis and Chino..

Big Pun, Chino XL and Slim Shady are three of my favourite rappers and I gotta say that Here To Save You All and Capital Punishment are better than The Slim Shady Lp and The Eminem Show but I consider The Marshall Mathers LP to be the best outta these three records .....
As far as the rapping as individuals goes I'ma put it like this :

1) Big Pun
2) Slim Shady
3) Chino XL

The reason why I constantly say "Slim Shady" is cuz I'm more a fan of Slim Shady than Eminem....

Its to subjective...I personally am not a huge bigger supporter, never was. That doesnt mean that i dont think he is good, or that i dont listen to him.

If i like Nas better than Biggie, thats my opinion, it doesnt mean it is gospel.

I love Masta Killa and own more MK albums than Biggie albums....I like him better. Is he better?? most would disagree, but to me, i like him better.
