All his solo albums are mad different in styles, and I know he did that shit with JayLib and all that but i'm focusing on "Welcome to Detroit", "Donuts", "The Shining" and the "Ruff Draft EP".

tough choice huh, Dilla's music was fucking beautiful in so many ways.

i was just listening to "Welcome 2 Detroit" now and I love that, but i've also been spinning "The Shining" alot lately.. i love when he was on that really soulful tip like that.. "Donuts" is the only one of the 4 albums listed that I haven't got yet but I borrowed it once and bumped it a couple times and I was really feeling it, very experimental.

i think it's a tie between W2D and Shining for me though.

that "Jay Loves Japan" EP is nothing short of fucking amazing beats neither, used to have that in my Mp3-player a lil' while back but don't know how official that is. plus it's really short, like 15 minutes or something.

Donuts. That shit is just so eerie, he was making it while dying and it still sounds... I dunno, warm.

^^ bumping that shit right now actually, shit is straight nasty.. Dilla's actually nice on the mic too! GOTTA GO AND GET THE MONEY!!

@ LACED: On the JayLib album half of the songs was produced by Madlib while "The Shining" is producing all the songs on "The Shining". i know it wasn't really finnished by the time of his death (80% was complete) but from what I understand they added some of the MC's later.. i think all the production was original except from "Body Movin" which was finnished by J.Rocc and Kariem Riggins.
