A Great Falls man who took a Taser from an officer during a scuffle and used it on the police officer has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. Neal Walton was charged with assault on an officer. He appeared at the sentencing hearing in Cascade County District Court by video from Montana State Prison, where Walton, 34, is serving time on unrelated charges. The video can be seen at http://www.truveo.com/Police-taser-cam-video-released-prior-to-mans/id/2103264362

Are you guys suggesting that assault should be legal.

This thread ultimately leads to an argument that has been brought up many times.

People are going to say that police are part of the institution of white supremacy.

Others, like myself, will say that police exist to enforce society's laws, and that all civilizations have had some sort of institutional control.

Now, I agree that some police are corrupt, but that a legal system is necessary in any society, despite its flaws.

But don't act like it is bullshit that someone gets charged with assault for assaulting somebody.

If somebody tasered your mother, would you be cool with that?

It is fuked up that he gets 15 years for giving a cop a taste of his own medicine. I dont know the whole story, but even if he was guilty n shit, 15 years is too much, shit you get 15 years for murdering someone.
Ladieslovecooldan, the "if somebody tasered your mother" argument is stupid, of course nobody would be cool with it, but its like saying, "would you agree if your car was burnt" n using it to make the trial of underages faster.

15 years is a bit much, but any crime against a police office will get you more time.

the laws are like that on purpose to discourage people from attacking police officers.

I don't understand what you're saying.

My argument is that you can't take away a citzen's right to safety and justice because of his profession.

If a cop impedes on an innocent citizen's life, then he should be punished. And vice-versa.

If you don't like lawyers, that is stereotyping and ignorant, but whatever. That still doesn't mean it is "ok" to assault one.

Don't fuck with the police is the moral of the story...you will NOT win that battle.

I mean, retards can continue to be stupid and agitate cops....go ahead.

Do you not realize that the police work for the city???

The guy probably won't serve 15 years, unless maybe he feels like tasering another inmate, or maybe one of the guards...

so then you can make a thread about how 'unjust' that is.

Lets just eliminate cops so the retards can run wild and do whatever they want.

Yes. Montana has a low population, though.

I heard a foreign language. I'm assuming it was Spanish? If he was mexican, that's probably why they gave him 15 years, which is bs.

Imagine if the guy was black and wearing a tall white t-shirt and speaking Ebonics. The officer would've been scared out of his mind, and called for major back up. The black guy would've been sentence to 20 years.:yessad:

It really bothers me that you don't understand the concept of sarcasm. I'm starting to think your screen name is apt because you remind me of an android.
