i heard it was because he was working with biggie, but this could very well be the case....they need to link back up, jeru's albums have been sonic nyquil ever since (heroz4hire was pretty good but divine design and the other one are bleh)

And now you got these young cats acting like they slung cats
All in they dumb rap, talking about how they funds stack
When I see them in the street, I don't see none of that
Bad playboy, where the fuck is the hummer at?
Where is all the ice with all the platinum under that?
Those ain't rolex diamonds, what the fuck you done to that?
Y'all rapping-ass niggas, y'all funny to me
Selling records, being you but still you want to be me
I guess for every buck you make it's like a hundred for me
And still you running around thinking you got something on me

Jeru, take notes.

Premier produced like 3 tracks for this album, which is pretty pop and shit.
Exactly what jeru hates. So they most likely argued a lot about that.

threadstarter was close, cause Life After Death mightve been the reason, which dropped 5 months after the atrocious wrath of the math. Biggie murdered Jeru on kick in the door and its funny cause it was produced by Premo. then Jigga follows up with a solid 4.5/5 album and continues the Brooklyn flame. Jeru shouldve stuck to reggae music.

Jeru's subliminals he was taking at badboy on One Day was horrible - another testament to why Wrath of the math was a brutal album.

Jeru strictly called Diddy and Foxy out, what are you talking about?
Do you even know what a subliminal is or what?

"In My Lifetime" was a really good album, ok it had a couple of real wack songs.. but cut the tracklisting from 14 to 11-12 songs and you got a dope joint. "A Million Questions", "Rhyme No More", "Imaginary Player", "Streets is Watching", "Friend or Foe '98", "Lucky Me", "Who You With II", "Face Off", "Real Niggaz", "Rap Game/Crack Game" and "Where I'm From" and "You Must Love Me" are two of Jay's best songs ever imo.

on topic: yes Preem working with BIG and Jay-Z might have something to do with that shit but from what I've read in interviews with Preemo it was definitely a money situation where Jeru was getting real greedy. As someone else said he's supposedly really hard to work with..

smh @ if yall think I dont know shit about sun rises in the east also. in the booklet, the design is in black and white and there's one picture of Jeru I believe. I listened to that shit front to back before, and the album is one-dimensional and Jeru has a robotic, monotone flow. he doesnt pitch his voice higher or lower at all to entertain the listener. this is where his comparison to Jay-Z ends. Hov has one of the most distinctive deliverys and his flow is like a beautiful waterfall flowing down without hesitation.

Sun Rises In the East's forte were the beats - Premo had a lot of hot productions laced and yall stans are perceived to think Jeru sounds "dope" when the production was hot.
let's not get into his wrath of the math album though cause that's the epitome of a sophomore jinx.

Sun Rises In The East was a dope 9/10 album but thinking its better than Reasonable Doubt is first degree murder to hiphop and other better albums.

Atrocious Wrath of the Math?

Are you fucking kidding me?

Some of Premo's better production is on that album.

What do you mean he should have stuck to reggae?

At least he made 2 distinguishable, original and quality albums, instead of 1 pretty dope formulaic imitation record like your hero.

Sun Rises In The East was a dope 9/10 album but thinking its better than Reasonable Doubt is first degree murder to hiphop and other better albums.

You consistently use phrases and words in ways which do not correspond with their meaning.

For instance:

"the album is one-dimensional"

I can't think of one way it is. It's completely varied subject matter wise and sonically.

Why the fuck do you feel the need to compare everything to Jay Z?

Again, adding weight to my theory that you got into hip hop listening to Camel and then to defend your absurd opinions you download and skim through other hip hop.

This shit is just fucking homo:

"Hov has one of the most distinctive deliverys and his flow is like a beautiful waterfall flowing down without hesitation. "

And this:

"yall stans"

Is a proposterious statement coming from you.Wrath of The Math was pretty much the best follow up to The Sun Rises In The East that fans of the first album could have wanted.

I barely bump the sun rises but I do bump it more than my Jay albums. I bump the sun rises about once a month still, Its been about 3 months now since I listened to a Jay-z album and it was reasonable doubt.

I'm not gonna hate on Hov though. I just cant see the hate for Ru. Thats messed up.

why did you post it 3 times? that song just proves my point even more:

1. HIS FLOW IS WAY TOO CHOPPY AND INCONSISTENT
2. HE'S SO BAD AT RAPPING THAT HE'S ACTUALLY TALKING INSTEAD.
3. HIS LINES ARE LIKE BOOMERANGS NO MATTER HOW FAR HE THROWS THEM THEY COMEBACK. HE COMES STRAIGHT FROM NYC BUT RAP ISNT HIS JOB NOR IS HE MVP.

"hypnotic the hiphop narcotic/ I keep it organic other MC's keep it robotic."

^is he fucking serious? terrible line and to make it worse, he accuses other MC's for being robotic, when my 3 POINTS above proves he's just that, a robotic, boring rapper.

how does he have true skillz?

his accent is far too unorthodox also, and I would never bump his shit like other artists.

sorry i dont dickride like you do. i liked both albums, and they are both pretty much classics in my book, but i don't think that 'rd' cant touch 'sun rises in the east', they are both pretty equal in my eyes. depends on the mood i am to see which one i would choose out of them.

i was merely pointing out your overexaggeration on jayz in all your fucking posts, mr jayz bandwagoner. cuz u no u jus got on his cock less than 1 year ago.

why did you post it 3 times? that song just proves my point even more:

Another colossal fail of epic proportions

Notice how he even tries to type like Jay Z to be 'hip hop' or something.

What's with the similes and shit? Like a boomerang? That actually sounds like a weak simile Jay would use.

I know what you mean. you get bored of things but I have the spiritual bond with reasonable doubt. it's beyond comprehension and it will always be my #1 undisputed album of all-time. every song is just picture perfect and not even it was written and illmatic could touch it with a scabbard, my #2 and 3 albums.

say word you're oriental? that's insane man.

Again, this is plain homo.

And fucking stupid.

How can you say RD will always be your number 1 album if you have listened to a limited selection of hip hop, let alone other music.

And furthermore, you're some fucking chink from Canada.... who has a spiritual connection with Jay Z....

Not the most likely of kindred spirits.

You posted this less than a week ago:

the sun rises in the east is overrated. some of the premo beats were nice but almost every track sounds the same. its one of those solid albums from the 90's but isnt a classic.

I havent listened to his 2nd album thoroughly so I wont pass judgment on that.

You didn't even know what Wrath of The Math was called.

Your opinion on the matter is void.

He just skims through albums and fabricates desperate, shitty opinions(that he probably doesn't even actually agree with) to support his shitty argument that Jay-Z is god and Reasonable Doubt is #1

Not even worth it trying to debate with him

Complete moron

Fun to fuck with him tho lol

smh @ wu stans catching feelings cause someone doesnt share opinions of their own.

you'll be surprised at how knowledgeable this south korean is when it comes to hiphop.

REASONABLE DOUBT = BEST ALBUM EVER, and I've listened to almost every classic album from the golden age. Im not boasting with that, but Im tryin to get that off my chest. I'm far from delusional, believe that.

Jeru The Damaja was always garbage, but his debut album gets an exception. why? cause I copped and own the god damn album.

YOU KNOW MY 3 POINTS ABOUT JERU SLAPPED THE SHIT OUTTA HIS UNDESERVED REPUTATION LOL.

i would really like to see your hip hop colletion theres probably about 20 albums in it

that being said, r u saying that Jeru's first album gets an exception to being good based on the sole fact that you bought it?? that makes no sense

you're delusional, extremely close minded, and ur opinions are absolutely ludacris

I have about 85 albums, and that's not an arrogant comment. I realize there are people with 1000.
what do you think is the best album ever? I promise I wont say that you're delusional nor will I shit on your opinions.

i can somewhat respect your opinions but not when you constantly bash classic albums

my personal favorite album is OBFCL, go ahead call me a wu stan, but its definitely one of the best pieces of art in hip hop ever

but unlike you (from what it sounds like) i can really enjoy many different forms of hip hop where as you seem to have a close minded view

for example, you dont seem to appreciate artists like dilla, mos def, or doom...

what do you think of Tribe or De La just curious

I wouldn't even bother to come up with a #1 and tell you

Because you would just write up another bullshit-stained review on how it sucks and isn't as good as Reasonable Doubt

I guess I'll just say 36 Chambers

Funny thread.. both Jeru albums are fire since I first heard 'em in the mid 90's and I still bump them today over ten years later! Longevity for the win. shits never get old and I wish one day to hear another Jeru and Prem album.

I read that Premier was dating Jerus sister and dogged her out, and thats basically why they don't work together no more.

After the first two albums Premier produced for Jeru he wanted the money for the beats. Jeru thought that Premier gave away the beats becuse they had knew each other for a long time and were very good freinds. Jeru would not pay for the beats and thats why they stopped hanging out.

Thats the story i heard.

GRANDMASSIVE.
