Several new expansions were released after Promathia filled with new content

I make crazy money in The Boyadha Tree farming Elder Goobues

Not everyone can kill them, but its easy for BST

DRG is cool, not sure if I'll ever level another job though. Atleast not for awhile

I'm all about BST right now I love it

If I had to pick another job it would probably be Warrior, they seem bad ass and they pretty much use the same gear as beastmaster which is nice

Ahahaha

You will understand soon enough, Young Tage

I'm going to bed soon, otherwise I would go online and help you

But there will certainly be more opportunities for that

Feel free to post any questions or concerns on here though in the meantime

K well basically you're gonna choose a Race and starting Nation

You will only have access to a couple jobs in the beginning, you have to unlock more later on

You can change your job by going into your "Mog House" marked as "Residential Area" on the map in the main menu

You can also store items in your Mog House

You will start from scratch

For now I suggest venturing out into the wild and killing monsters to level
up

Use the Auction House in town to sell the items that drop to gain maximum profit

You will be on your own til level 10

Once you reach level 10, you can travel to Valkurm Dunes and start partying with other players

This should be enough info for now

I'll try and check this tomorrow before I leave and answer any further questions you have

Good luck

Tage

Heres some information on choosing which job is right for you

Getting a FFXI job

All you have to do is to go to the Mog House and get the job you want. Changing FFXI jobs can be done the same way. You can switch jobs in Final Fantasy XI anytime you like (though you would be well advised to plan well). Switching FFXI jobs does not negatively affect the characters, as each job has a separate experience point's pool. However, if you die you lose 10% of the points needed to advance to the next level. So if you need 500 points to max a level when you die, you lose 50 points from your point's pool.
The FFXI Job That Suits

Though getting a job isn't a problem, choosing the right job may well exercise your grey cells. First of all, you have to consider how you enjoy the game the most. If you want to bash a few beasts then you might want to check out the fighters in the jobs section. Or if you would rather play the 'messiah' then the White Mage would be an option. Get the drift? Simply play to enjoy.

Secondly, you would do well to take into account your chosen race when you pick out a job role. Being a Galka with Black Magic as your profession won't get you anywhere. Consider the qualities of your race and the requirements of the job. Ideally your job should add points to the qualities of your race that will be used most in you job role. Choose wisely, and excel!
FFXI Basic Jobs

As a beginner, when your experience points are down the choice of jobs is limited to the basic FFXI jobs pool, you have to make do with these. The variety of fields is interesting, as you go from pure melee to magic, or healing, or even to the life of a bandit!

The Basic Jobs on offer are,

* FFXI Warrior
* FFXI Monk
* FFXI Thief
* FFXI White Mage
* FFXI Red Mage
* FFXI Black Mage

FFXI Advanced jobs

By the time you unlock the advanced Final Fantasy XI jobs you probably have a much better idea as to how you enjoy Final Fantasy best. Understandably, job pool expands and you get much more specialized Final Fantasy XI jobs on offer. The Advanced Jobs are,

* FFXI Bard
* FFXI Beastmaster
* FFXI Summoner
* FFXI Dark Knight
* FFXI Paladin
* FFXI Ranger
* FFXI Ninja
* FFXI Samurai
* FFXI Dragoon

FFXI Sub-jobs

You can get sub FFXI jobs from the Mog House as well. While the main job is represented as full, the sub job is only represented half of your main job skill, and Sub-jobs don't carry any experience points either.

Well thought out sub-jobs can make great contributions to the diversity of your character; especially if you want to play solo, you can't seriously do without a good sub-job. The idea is to get the right combinations going. Though a White Mage is rarely out of demand but when he/she is solo there is some need of defense, and melee skills. So subbing a White Mage with a Warrior or a Paladin job suddenly wouldn't look too bad an idea.

The choice is yours!

Paranoid
04-12-2009, 05:23 AM
You unlock the ability to use sub jobs after doing a quest at level 18

You can unlock advanced jobs once you get an original job to level 30

Atleast get to level 10 and try partying

You can't make a proper judgment yet

Running around killing shit by yourself is not what this game is about

Its about teamwork, keeping the party alive and killing the enemy to level up jobs

If thats not FF, I don't know what is

Then once you get level 75

Thats when the game really begins

So heres the deal

I can't start partying with you until you're level 23

You must make it there on your own, with the help of other adventurers

Once you reach 23 I can handle forming all the parties

Let me know when you're lvl 10 and I'll instruct how to start partying

Also, buy a Great Axe if you're gonna be a Warrior and increase your great axe skill (by using it)

Warriors specialize in axes and do the most damage with a Great Axe(2-Handed Axe)

The higher your skill is the more damage you will do and the more accurate you will be

Do not give up yet Tage

Not so easily
