I was looking for this historical fact on google and have come up with nothing so far. I believe the idea and trend of a fitted came from either:

1.)baseball players

2.)skateboarders

The more I look into it I think its baseball teams. I guess the Cubs were rockin' em in 1926.

Did the fitted one come before the adjustable one or the other way around?

I dunno, it now could turn into the chicken and the egg theory.

I would say the fitted hats were first. they are simpler to design, the adjustable ones were probably a later innovation so you can have one size fits all.

And i would bet alot of money it was started for baseball teams

i would say baseball to.

mainly cause the hats designed to shield the eyes from the sun, which is important for a baseball player.

Technically a hat must have a brim. So that jewish device in the picture is no better than a frisbee or a bed pan that doesn't work.

I would assume it comes from Baseball.

Thats what I'd call it a Baseball Cap not a Fitted Hat.

Did the fitted one come before the adjustable one or the other way around?Considering plastic wasn't used until the thirties and velcro way after that, I think the answer is fairly obvious.

IDK, how about the ones with the adjustable leather strap with the slider? But still a good is the fitted ones came first. If they are first then just look at the origins of the baseball cap.

I remember in the Wu-Manual RZA called it Cleveland Style. I don't know how it became hip-hop fashion but old people have their hats flat brimmed but they have the ones with the mesh backs.

Because the 80's were the era of elastic and spandex. Such a sexy time to be alive or born.

The flat brimmed hat style is worse than the backwards jeans. At least some of the Kriss Kross imitators could get some girls.

now this is a good question. Who was the first guy to not bend his hat AT ALL?

i remember back in the day it was cool to curve your baseball hat like crazy, putting a rubber band around it to get max curvature or tucking the brim of the hat inside the rest of it.

i always go for fitted hats, theyre just much more legit.
