Damn this track is off the fucking hook, used to think the intro was too long, but now I think is perfect, also it's the best El-P beat since Aesop's record.....I can't wait for Depart from me. Cage is evolving in the right way, incredible. This song could have a great video.

http://2dopeboyz.okayplayer.com/2009/02/10/cage-nothing-left-to-say-prod-el-p/

There I was unconscious on the floor
This place I never knew departing from me Iím sure
Awaiting the hand of god knowing I stand to fall
I stared into the pitch black to no hand at all

When your all alone and you think of home
Places you may have been and who youíve known
This beauty they speak of I cannot see
As I imagine as a child itís make believe

Good ideas hard to find, get one and stand in line
Been judged and judged whatís one more time?
Adoring suffocation through the pain of humiliation
I would discover both sides of manipulation

Family picked up and went away
Some friends have left and some have stayed
Iíve trusted one and been betrayed

When you grow tired of lying on the ground and
People walking on you
If you get to your feet and struggle to stand
People you know withdrawal their hand
And you donít know why

I know why
I know why..

I am just unable to feel or god fear
Some people you may have met on this planet are not here
Life taunts of violence death flaunts a silence
If your soul is priceless it's 'cause no one wants to buy it

If you relapse your quietly falling no one to catch you
So the monkey on my back is still flinging shit at you
Wipe it off lets move on we have so much to do
So much to see, I have so much pain for you

When your life is suckin youíve got vices that are something
To hold onto as you fall into nothing
Itís like your drowning but too good to take a hand that pities
While you cling to your addiction like a kid in swimmies

Silly habit, drugs are for kids not adults it is
Not free to live unless itís under a bridge
New york city can gauge itís health with colors
They said I was a danger to myself and others

I have CC brothers, forgive my enemies
WM will live on like the Kennedyís, every amenity
You lovin this un-American not to be gluttonies
Should have a big chain to accentuate the ugliness

My soul is stuck in this unaware of its appeal or purpose
And manufactured for you to steal or purchase
You leave behind what you get from money, oh well
Whatís the weather like kids? (Itís always sunny in
hell)

I have one thing left to say, Iíd like to share it with you
If you donít care is it too bad for me or too bad for you?
I know itís complicated, he suffered he tried to make it
Now maggots just want to be compensated and live through Camu

Live through Camu

You picked at his flesh the day of his death astounding
A WM on his arm and a circle around it
I'd like to think what he left behind you could really use it
Instead of saying his name just to move your shitty music

The day I feel the need to stand in a bathroom
And shovel cocaine into a human vacuum
Iíll look you up, the day I need another hole in my face
When you pass away people think that your checking your myspace

Then your enemies give you public head quick
So why not at my funeral just pull out my dead dick
Thought to project see him at the gates they let him in
I guess they needed you as much as we do yet again

I looked to the sky and opened my eyes then the weathermen
Symbol in the clouds just a memory of my friend
He stuck his head in the future where they sing his art
Where the wild card will be crowned the king of hearts

If I had things left to say, why would I share it with you?
How you suck the life from the dead is even too low for you
The time you spent depleted, his soul has just left so beat it
Go join the kids and eat it up and tell them how you knew Camu

The tracks that have leaked have been very good, album is shaping up nicely. I have no problem w/ Cage actually "being himself" but it seems some people would rather him be a poser.

IDK,I used to love his music,I think Hellz Winter was a god medium between his old stuff and where he is now. I think he peaked with that album. I don't think he can get that type of feel across anymore. That whole album was a perfect balence. I don't see DFM being 1/2 as good. Just my 2cents.

I'd have to wait till Depart From Me drops. He only played tracks off DFM at Paid Dues, and I was unsure about half of them. He seemed to be singing more than actually rhyming, but I'd have to listen to the album closer before I determine.

if theres one good thing eminem did in his career it was dissin cage ... cage is coo and all but not only is he a maniac he spent half his career frontin like he was somebody he wasnt ... at least he bein himself now

i dont think cage was ever fronting. its really simple.

smut peddler/movies for the blind cage= drugs

def jux/hellz winter cage= sober

and i think cage has always been a better songwriter than slim. not saying he's more skilled, cause em would probably crush him in a freestyle battle. but among the sleep is one of the best storytelling songs i've heard.

oh and the leak brothers album with tame one? personal classic.

(some)folks change over time. sometimes its experience, sometimes its sobriety.

i really dont know the man personally. i just think the leak had a major hold on his mind and image.

anyway it goes, i still think the cats a good wordsmith.

speakonitgod, u don't get it, he had one of the worst childhoods I ever read about, atleast he still have skillz, Eminem hasn't been the same since the medicated drugs.

Almost no rapper reveals himself...not just nowadays, like ever. Biggie was one of those that did it, fake image or not, he revealed himself, and that's what makes his first two albums a notch better than most mainstream albums IMO.

he shoulda started his career as an emo dude if that was his thing, but like i said dude is not all there in the head so maybe he really thought he was a thug back then... either way cosign main_man he is a talented wordsmith, thats for sure

DR. NICK RIVIERA
04-17-2009, 05:47 PM
lol at least he didn't wore any chains or anything...how can u blame the dude for being a sober, responsible man, with his heart to broken after his best friend died, amongst other dudes.

he went through a lot more than TheGame for instance, and he never cried or anything, look at that bitchass rapper crying to be more real.

he sobered up, lost weight, and got more punk rockish but is still a good mc.

I'm a big Cage fan. Hell'z Winter still gets a lot of rotation.

Not feeling his "even more sober" style.

Same with Dirty Allah. No matter how fucked up it sounds, I have to agree with Meth on Dirty's sobriety.

yo on the real i was one of the first people speakin cage... so you know i gotta speak on it... Cage was one of the illest emcess to really ever get overlooked... his problem is that he switched his techniques, he used to have the dopest beats, sickest thoughts, and illest approach. Since he slowed down, and using these mediocre beats, i really hope he can get his shit together... all this rock shit... is getting outta hand, cage was one of the first albums to spin off rock shit... but i wanna hear the hardcore cage.

I understand growing as an artist is important and essential, but you can't stir far from your roots.... i can understand sharing your feelings and being emo.... but you have to come harder than movies for the blind... Hell'z winter was a lil more calmer, mixed-well and mature, but sometime..... u just need to DUMBOUT! i would love to hear cage over some ol' ill shit.... for real....

here's a little something that some folks might not know about.

one of the first verses cage spit was on former 3rd bass members pete nice & daddy rich's solo album "dust 2 dust". back in 1993 cage spit on the track "rich bring 'em back".
he comes in at around the 2:00 mark.

camu tao is a producer/mc that was a member of the weathermen.
cat was dope and slept on, for real.
he died last year.
he did an album with cage called nighthawks, where they rapped from the prespective of crooked cops. and he was in the group s.a. smash.

Tage
04-23-2009, 02:16 PM
he was also a founding member of MhZ, along with Copywrite, Jakki and Tage Proto(aka Tage Future).

after the split from the weathermen, Copywrite had an ongoing feud with Camu, and was photo'd in many a bitch scrap with Copy rockin' brass knuckles like a slut.

Copy & Jakki settled the feud after Camu was fighting long-term cancer of which he did not survive.

RIP CAMU
