Just wanted to make a thread to judge the best/most intense 2D shooters ever made. My list is not a complete list so feel free to add your entry in your post and vote for other. Explain why your pick is the best and put up some gameplay videos if available. Also links to where you can play these games online or purchase them would be greatly appreciated:yes:
My personal pick is Gradius V. The gameplay is just perfect to me eventhough I couldnt beat the bitch.

Gets nearly impossible in the later levels. I know others on this list are much harder but this was definitely one of my favorites(and I havent had the opportunity to play them all).
