This woman did, says she didn't hesitate

EL PASO, Texas -- Letty Armendariz was faced with an ethical dilemma typically seen only on TV or the silver screen: what to do with $120,000 in lost cash."So, I'm pulling up to the ATM machine, and right out here I noticed what appeared to be a plastic bag, so I simply drove over it," said Armendariz, describing what happened Friday morning. "I realized that it wasn't a plastic bag. It was shaped very differently, and there was definitely something solid in there."She said she thought she had driven over a rock and that it might have scratched the bottom of her low-riding truck. But instead of scratch, she found the bag filled with cash. http://ad.doubleclick.net/ad/ibs.den.money/local;kw=money+square+19359009;ad=true;pgtype=deta il;tile=8;sz=300x250;ord=123456789? "As I reached the bag, I realized it was a bag of money from the bank. There was a tag that indicated $120,000 on it. So, I'm assuming that's the amount that was inside," said Armendariz. She said it didnít even cross her mind to take the money."I didn't think twice about it. I didn't hesitate. I automatically called law enforcement. I did call my husband and told him, 'You're not going to believe what just happened,'" she said. Her husband was equally astounded by the find."When she said money, I thought $10, $15, but the amount of money just kind of floored me, and initially I said, 'Wow!'" said Luis Armendariz. "I said, 'You did the right thing.'"Letty Armendariz said she has no regrets about turning the money in."There are a lot of things you could do with $120,000, but it's not the right thing to do if it doesn't belong to you," said Armendariz.Armendariz's good deed could, however, still pay off. The rightful owner has 30 days to claim the money, or police will give it back to her.

Where can I claim my cheddar?

She's definitely going to get it, that's no doubt illicit money. No one's gonna come back for 120k only to get arrested and not get 120k.

I don't know how you can explain how you dropped a sack with an eighth of a million dollars in it.

i wouldnt sell shit
disneyland is gay..disneyworld is where its at negro

05-05-2009, 05:35 AM
Why? you would just assume the $120k you just found was unmarked and go on a spending spree? If you give it to a drug dealer you can pretty safely assume that money will eventually be laundered anyway, and since you want weed anyway, the strategy is a no-brainer.

good point but i don't wanna sell weed, i just wanna smoke it

05-05-2009, 05:45 AM
you can try bartering with the weed, technically that isn't selling it.

Theres nothing ethical about money, anyway.

If someone is careless enough to leave 120k lying around, they obviously dont need it that much.

Its just money, whats wrong with keeping it? Its not like we're talking about seeing an abanonded baby, and not reporting it. If someone has 120k in cash in a plastic bag, its 99% positive they got that money illegally.

05-05-2009, 07:09 AM
Yeah, fuck them, i think most people would keep it.

Id buy a new car, a load of coke and get drunk every day until it was gone. Maybe buy some new clothes too. Maybe.

I'd keep it, of course.

I'd buy some new windscreen wipers for my car and some other thigs too.

she probably got a shit load in a reward for being a retard(only read headline).

but if your a law abiding citizen, you would probably get caught spending such riches. unless you had the will to spend it bit by bit and not splash out on retarded massive buys that will give you away and then get raided for suspected illegal activities.

finders keepers

The more I think about it, the more I think she might get it. If a bank had lost it, they woulda claimed it in about 4 minutes. It would be hard to claim because you have to have a good reason to be walking around with a hundred twenty grand.
