they all represented to the fullest but u-god really came correct, solidified his position as a member of the clan as worthy of attention as the others. ghost also stepped his game up from ironman (on which he had stepped his game up from cuban linx, on which he had stepped his game up from 36 chambers...). rza was at about his best ever; pity he would somehow forget how to rap in the next couple years. meth was good but i actually thought he was better on tical 2000. some of his verses (scary hours, as high as wu-tang get) arent that special. i actually was kinda disappointed with rae on forever, he was much better on cuban linx and ironman. on tracks like little ghetto boys, heaterz, duck seazon he wasnt as good as i would have expected. deck and gza came correct, dirty was half great (reunited, heaterz) half wack (maria, dirt dog), masta was probably the worst of the clan on forever but still ill. cappa was bleh...somewhere in between his pre-forever dopeness and his post-forever wackness. streetlife was good

They all tore that album to shreds, but I can't help thinking of this whenever the albums mentioned:
I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies
and hypotheses can't define how I be droppin’ these
mockeries, lyrically perform armed robbery
Flee with the lottery, possibly they spotted me
Battle-scarred shogun, explosion when my pen hits
tremendous, ultra-violet shine blind forensics
I inspect view, through the future see millenium
Killa B's sold fifty gold sixty platinum
Shacklin’ the masses with drastic rap tactics
Graphic displays melt the steel like blacksmiths
Black Wu jackets queen B's ease the guns in
Rumble with patrolmen, tear gas laced the function
Heads by the score take flight incite a war
Chicks hit the floor, diehard fans demand more
Behold the bold soldier, control the globe slowly
Proceeds to blow swingin’ swords like Shinobi
Stomp grounds and pound footprints in solid rock
Wu got it locked, performin’ live on your hottest block
Dunno what the fuck Raekwon was thinkin when he appeared on that wack Triumph remix for Damon Dash's new label Roc-4-Life though with Joe Budden, Young Chris, Oschino, Sparks & Peedi Crack.

Deck & RZA
Rza for sure. the the next is a toss up between Rae Meth Ghost and U-god, but probably goes to Rae
stop saying Gza, he wasn't on that much and was often outshined.

I would say Deck and...........it may come as a surprise for all the U-God haters, but: U-GOD. He came off ill on Forever because he had to make up for his lack of participation on 36 Chambers. Honorable mentions also go to RZA & Ghostface.

stop saying Gza, he wasn't on that much and was often outshined.
Only songs he was outshined was on "Severe Punishment" and "Triumph" but on the other songs he was featured on, he got the best verse IMO.
Anyway, i'm gonna have to go with 4 on this one. Deck, Meth, RZA, and Rae. Those 4 ripped shit apart on Forever

Ahh how can you decide between them? They all brought so much together for that album. It's the album above all others that showed that every Wu-Tang member was an ill MC. My favourite album is 36 Chambers, but Forever gave the best demonstration of the skills as a whole (especially given Masta Killa and U-Gods lack of much involvement on 36 Chambers).
Somehow there are MCs out there selling bucket loads of records and appearing everywhere, who can't touch a single one of the nine generals. I sometimes wonder if some of them suffered by being from such a large group with so much talent (Inspectah Deck and Masta Killa spring to mind).
Hell, Wu-Tang are so ill they have second string MCs that aren't even in the clan who spit fire like this:
So get your egg crashed, by my Hellz Wind Staff
While the feature broadcast is splashed to tell the news
like Kaity Chung, how the bullet collapsed his lung
His father watched the horror as he swallowed his tongue
Another youth dead, before the age of twenty-one
Left his son to grow, in the ghettoes of the slums
With a shot that go, for twisted metal for cash flow
React slow nigga and get, P.L.O.
By the lone gunner, who took revenge for his brother
who got slain last summer by a cocaine runner
A new year is dawning, new crews is forming
Rival gangs warring blood steadily pouring
The streets are deep Son every day is like a rerun
So I reach out and try to teach one
But eighty-five percent uncivilized content
No tolerance so a lifetime is spent
behind a cage bent smoked out on a park bench
Killer instinct slave rap niggaz get lynched
Respect due to Street Life for that one

U-God: He drops gems all over this double cd. Listen to Impossible, Bells Of War, A Better Tomorrow. This album stands as U-God's by far strongest effort.
But really, all the 9 generals were on the top of their game on Forever. It's basically impossible to pick just ONE.

Rae on " Little Ghetto Boys" is basically as good as rap can be. Lyrics, flow, beat. I think that is about as good as rap can be. Of course there are amazing moments throughout those cds, but when I think of pure tightness, pure perfect rap, thats it. His slang etc, is tops

It's Deck BY FAR. Not even close. His verses on Triumph, For Heaven's Sakes and Heaterz were better than any other verses on the whole album. And all his other verses were flawless as well.
In a distant tie for 2nd, U-God and RZA.
Just cause Rae had the most verses doesnt mean he was the best.

But there isn't one member who came off weak although GZA really should have had about 2 or 3 more verses throughout the album.

Its Deck for me by far. Every verse on that joint was classic shit.
RZA and Meth are my runners up...and I always see Rae getting gassed up on Forever but I actually liked him more back on 36 Chambers. I agree with whoever I saw say just cause Rae was all over the album doesn't mean he was the best.
